In other news...

... I was thinking about setting the magical girl thread in my own take of a crapsack world. A world where it's okay to put a 12 year old girl on the frontlines of a battle with the full expectation she will be maimed or worse, because honestly, humanity don't have any other choice. I've given Azi a lot of crap about how I think a roleplay should be, but I have done little to prove that I could do better!

THIS IS A CHALLENGE, AZI. I'm calling you out.


EDIT: Rather than pictures, I'm going to put an emphasis on "image songs", songs that represent the theme of your character. I tend to find this helps a lot more than a picture when it comes to writing scenes. So... get searching!

If anything, I've served myself. O_o I criticise others, when my own ideas generally come out half baked!

But, I have a plan to fix this...!

I really want to write this intro in a short story format (rather than the standard blog about how the world has been destroyed, blah blah blah), and for this reason, it's a real shame that the old RP forum got deleted. There were quite a few excellent examples I used to use for inspiration - including some... less savoury moments on this forum.

I've been reading a few of the stories around here, but it just isn't the same - I generally think of improvements I might suggest (pointless, given said people would have aged a good 7 or so years since writing said pieces), but they don't seem to give me ideas of my own, or provide anything of substance that might make me want to revisit my vocab or writing style.

Maybe I'm just not reading the right stories, or maybe I just need more time to think on this...

Well, that's quite the magical world! But, the idea of young girls being sent to the frontlines isn't as unrealistic as you may think. After all, ISIS and other Islamic terrorist organizations brainwash much younger girls to be suicide bombers, who then willingly blow themselves up to kill other young children. All you need is a self-hating, jealous, paranoid, immature psychopath to be obsessed with sub-animal decisions.

Ha, well, I think I am better at world-building than you are, West, but only because I've been doing that for about two decades in my stories. However, it doesn't mean that my ideas are ''better'', as I've never had any success with my literature, and never had an audience exceeding more than a few users. Indeed, it's possible that you can create a more attractive idea irregardless of being less experienced.

That's an interesting idea, to use songs to feature the RP. I kinda had a similar idea in my musical RP, as it was also intended to be a realm that shares music and art, while creating a fun adventure.


The stories here are rather old, made by us when we were much younger. Even my own stories here are basically crap, I don't like any of them, but it was necessary to go through childish ideas to reach a greater understanding of our art. I'd recommend don't bother reading anything, just do what you feel, do what you like, do what you are interested in. Personally, I've got greater inspiration and ideas from music and video games than actually reading stories!
