What I had in mind, that I thought I depicted, was that the battlefield leads outside, and so reveals the sky and so on. It seems I forgot to mention that somewhere, so sorry for that, I sometimes forget to add key details. Hopefully, this is now cleared up.

I imagined them to be in some kind of hanger bay, so I thought characters would have a good view of the sky depending on where they stood. But if they fell through some sort of suspended hallway instead, then I suppose they would have an unimpeded view of what was going on. Then there is the possibility that I missed something else entirely!

Upon closer inspection, they appear to have fell down the side of the outer wall (and are entirely outside). Leading me to now question... "what roof did Shirley shoot?"
