Possibly, if the Gravemind can infect technology, I don't see why it can't be done on a Reaper or two. The Leviathan of Dis clearly indoctrinates an entire Reaper ship, forcing it to malfunction or deactivate, saving the shuttle Shepard is on.

Pretty sure the Leviathan is a Reaper corpse.

I don't know how the infection would work, though, since a Reaper isn't exactly a machine. Remember, organic matter of billions of a sentient race has to be processed into a shell in order to make one, so it's as much an organic creature as it is a mechanical one. If I remember correctly, this is actually stated at some point, although since it's been forever since I played I can't say this will full certainty.

It's stated at the end of Mass Effect II against the Human Reaper. =3

Well, from what I've read the Logic Plague seems to be a really advanced form of persuasion where the Gravemind figures out how exactly to appeal to the victim's reasoning in order to change its viewpoint or convince it to help the Flood.

For example, with Mendicant Bias, the Gravemind pointed out that the Forerunners urged people to embrace evolution, and argued that the Flood were actually the next stage of evolution and it was hypocritical to reject them.

In the case of the Reapers, the Gravemind could probably just argue that they have a similar purpose, and therefore share the same goal and should work together. After that, it's just a matter of the Gravemind somehow convincing some of the Reapers that the Flood should be in charge. I don't know how the Reaper mind works, though, so I'm not 100% sure how he would go about this. But at the very least, he could be able to secure an equal partnership for the time being, which is a scary thought.

I would like to point out that it is not simply exploiting the programming, as the Gravemind has been able to use it on organic beings as well. Basically, the Gravemind is the universe's greatest lawyer and psychologist, and the more minds he absorbs the better he becomes, until it gets to the point where the Logic Plague can spread without his active involvement because infected AIs begin to pass it along on their own.

At least, that's my understanding.

There are three Leviathans though, so I'm not sure who is the corpse, or what.

I think the Reapers are synthetic in nature, technically I'd say biomechanical.

I think the Gravemind would gradually learn about Reaper-based biology, and vice-versa. I'll probably lean to this in my role-play.

Well, my replies were quite short this time, as I don't know enough about these topics, so I think I better not go too far. I will do some extra research and see what I can work out, then continue the RP later today/tonight.

Annie, yes, it's better now, so thank-you for the edit.

So, if the Reapers are machines, couldn't the Gravemind use the Logic Plague to infect the Reapers?

It's impactical, because even a dead reaper emits passive mind control on organic beings - something that appears to be extra potent against growing or unstable minds. The Gravemind would be indoctorinated before it could be fully formed, and that's even assuming it could find the biomass to finish itself. You'd almost have to physically deliver a fully formed gravemind onto the reaper for this to work.

Keep in mind that a reaper also has no need for atmosphere, as its crew are either expendable fodder or outright non-existant. This also prevents Necromorph infestation to some extent.

The Leviathan of Dis was part of a race that created the reapers, and designed the reapers after their own image. It's very possible for THEM to "control" the reapers within tight bandspace, but how would you know this would be possible in the first place? We only know about it because it's the only hype train the Illusive man would buy into to unknowingly serve the Reapers.
