Annie, about Darkbeasts
Darkbeasts can be both evil and good, it depends on the group. They are power-hungry and crave active magic. They are also serving their own interests, and have their own reasons, motives and beliefs, so there will be more about them later. It is up to you whether you view them as evil or not, though Darkbeasts are hostile to those they do not serve.

George,
It's your choice, there will be opportunities to improve both natural and supernatural abilities. To repair your equipment, we can come across a magic entity, relic, or something that repairs Gideon's stuff. Magic is a great excuse for unexplained fixes!

Oh, and currently, other characters are heading to the Divided City.

Given he has already reached the maximum for melee combat, I don't see how he could boost his natural abilities any more. (Since none of the other listed natural skills fit his style)

Although... What's the difference between warping and teleporting? While they're worded differently, they seem quite similar.

You're right, there isn't much else to improve Gideon as what you intended him to be, but since he is a Scion of Sorcery (or maybe he isn't?), he can learn any magic when the opportunity comes. Alternatively, I suppose we could gradually grant him additional non-magic powers, like superhuman strength, a sudden boost of extreme sprinting, or what have you.

Teleportation is instantaneous, whereas warping is high-speed, so warping can also be used to warp projectiles or items at great speeds to use as a weapon. But yes, they are very similar, but warping can hurl things, whereas teleportation remains as an instant form of travel or dodging, so teleporting is a guarantee you'll escape an incoming danger.

That... Actually sounds good, to be honest. I've been scouring the magic types quite extensively but nothing fits him particularly well. That's more a matter of how I want him to play rather than the choices of magic, since he isn't really a guy who'll stand in the back and throw magic around.

In a way it could probably be considered further penance. Given no magic of his own, or having had it stripped from him the ability to learn magic, instead he's forced to rely on only his body and strength of arms in a deadly war against increasingly powerful magic users and beasts.

Gradual non-magic powers sounds interesting. Circumventing the 'punishment', so to speak. Just a question of how he would get them.

That does sound like a good idea, and indeed, he fits the penal theme you have planned. Additionally, you can also create your own magic, this opportunity was given to Wolf recently, or indeed, you can create your own abilities, like "sunder helm" or "shield-splitter" or what have you, or just stick to classic things like super strength, super speed, super reflexes, or whatever you'd like.

I'll think of something, maybe. So far, what I had in mind, are artifacts or relics that grant certain physical, non-magic powers, abilities or forces. We'll figure something out, sooner or later.

Anyways, I will post sometime later tonight. The back of my left shoulder, and neck, are still stiff and sore, and its painful to sit. I need a break, be back in a few hours or so.

While named abilities like that are interesting, they sound more like techniques that any warrior could use. Sundering a helm, for example, is something many weapons could do with no special technique necessary. Albeit I'm not sure what kind of non-magic abilities are possible save the standard physical boosts, unless there are some special abiltiies that are effectively superhuman techniques refined to do things mortal techniques couldn't.
