Right, well, thinking of joining Scions. Got a character concept in mind, albeit I just need to figure out his exact abilities then I'll get it jotted down.

Before getting into that though, there's no way in hell I can read through all of the posts made so far. Can I get a general summary of what's happened/happening before I throw myself into the deep end?

EDIT: Been skimming through, I've noticed you've been deciding on the starting point of the characters, Azi? I've got no problem with that, I'm just trying to make some sense out of the pages and pages of huge posts, trying to get a feel for things.

EDIT2: Continuing to read and skim. Noticed Annie's character spent 4 points in her bio, later noticed you mentioned she has Major Pyromancy, which would make 5. I'm a bit confused what happened here.
I am Inferi.

I Agee with west. It won't be a story if some characters or in the future and then some characters in the past .

I don't think I quite went that far...

Though I loathe to admit it, I sometimes do watch chick flicks. Some, like the lakehouse, do prove that a story can be told relatively well by intermingling the past and the future (though, why a person would use a timetraveling mailbox for ROMANCE eludes me, but okay!)

The problem with this idea is that the GM has to be the one driving the plot - and has to be the one pushing characters towards some inevitable conclusion.

What I had in mind, was other characters going on before the others, the others following trail, so to speak, it would be an interesting concept to work with. Generally, in fiction, it's villains who play this role, of always being a few steps ahead of everyone else.

I imagine it could work for a hero too, or maybe a morally grey character like a bounty hunter. I tend to find your npc's tend to scale towards being rather antagonistic - there's never a nice one in the bunch. A good vs good fight, at least for me, tends to be more... interesting than your typical good vs bad.

Then we should have villains be few steps ahead.

To some extent, there is a ''background villain'' in Scions, though I suppose a villain who partakes in the storyline actively would be more dynamic. Oh wait, that Vaal'Amar captain may take that role, we'll see how things go.

George,
OK! See you then!

To summarize:
Poca and Miranda ended up inside Fortress Naamoth, an Orcish stronghold that was used by elves. The Vaal'Amar, who are a kind of devil-human with baize skin, horns, tail, and claws, besieged the fortress, which Poca and Raven managed to just escape from on horseback. Poca and Miranda are riding the same horse, fleeing five boar-riders.

Analee's storyline is when she, in her sleep, ran out her village while sleepwalking, and Auryllac, a Dark Elf, ran after her for three days. While gone, Darkbeasts attacked Analee's father's village, taking them into the netherworld. Auryllac and Analee were attacked by Darkbeasts themselves, and Analee had lost consciousness, but in her sleep, clutched her wolf and rode him as he ran back to the village. She foudn out Talarin, Auryllac's son, is the sole survivor, and together they went to see a witch, fought a tree-demon, and now will be heading to the Divided City, which is a series of cities connected by walls and aqueducts, but was torn asunder by a great rift (similarly to what happened in my Cannibal's Lament universe).

Raven, West's character, awoke in her cell, and met a Vaal'Amar girl who seems to be a boss for some Darkbeasts, and will be making an escape soon.

Ancient's character Salvatore went to the cape with a few guards, awaiting a pirate attack. Ancient is less active, so role-playing in his locale may be suitable for those who post less often.

Generally, yes, I post a prologue (a dream sequence to foreshadow the future) and then intro characters to get them going with the role-play easier, but users are allowed to intro their own characters too. The prologue is important as it provides hints for the finale of the first world, but anyone's allowed to intro their own character if they wish.

Annie did indeed overspend, though when I talked to her about it, she did not seem to want to remove a skill. Instead, I decided that her character will not be able to spend points until she completes the third quest, which will bring her up to a sixth point.

West,
You can watch whatever you want.

Maybe characters in the future isn't a good idea. Maybe characters in a future location would be better, such as the Divided City, or the mighty castle that has appeared in the prologues/dream sequences. But yes, I do want to drive the plot, yet at the same time, I want users to be free to create their own adventure if they wish, though that means more work for them.

You're right, my NPCs tend to not be good guys that often, maybe they're getting stale. I did plan on a more grey scale, such as Salvatore's antagonist being a war cleric, who is technically holy, yet intends to kill someone who has angel magic. But yes, I agree with your points, I do intend Scions to be more story-driven and more developed this time.

Hopefully, my sense of humor won't kill the thread.

Anyways, tomorrow will be my second day helping my mom move things to her new place, so I will be busy for up to half the day tomorrow.

Cool, thanks. I'm fine with being given a prologue, just means I need to remember to write out the character's history.

By the way, you said we don't start with any equipment? As in, no armour, weapons, tools, etc?

EDIT: Couple of questions I forgot to ask. Are the Infantry tiers representative of being a more skilled/powerful combatant, or do they only allow you to wear heavier armour?

Also, for the Unhallowed, do they heal naturally as a living person would (I.E their skeleton repairs itself over time) or do they require magic to do so? If it's the case of the latter, which magic would be needed? Necromancy? Sarkamancy? (Albeit I'm not sure Sarkamancy would affect them whatsoever if they have no flesh...)
I am Inferi.

Is there a Charisma-based thing meant entirely for talking your way out of trouble?

Or is that part of guile?

I'm thinking my four-man party would be a mercentile/militia guy who is quite persuasive, a mage, a rogue, and a warrior (either Joric Ironfist or an Orc berserker.)

Huh. I wonder what would happen if I went all in on mercentile and just threw money at all my problems. I'm assuming that the retinue limit rule only applies to the start? Is there nothing stopping me from just using my ridiculous wealth to amass an army?

I'm going all Mount and Blade up in this business.
