Leaving aside the fact that botched healing/buffing can be a potent weapon in its own right, a companion shouldn't possess a lower skill floor simply because they cast heals and buffs instead of fireballs and lightning. A poor support is worse than baggage, after all.

Inferi has it wholly correct, regarding Franz's ability. Of course, users are free to not be affected or influenced by it, it's a means to help user characters is they wish so. I tried to thoroughly explain it, using supernatural and psychological words, so I think it's good. In case anyone's missed it, by ''additional senses'' I am actually referring to the users themselves. I view Psionic Ascendancy as an ability that temporarily empowers but at a possible cost. It is automatic for convenience, but users are welcome to ignore it, maybe their minds are too strong for it.

So... did 'Nanana Ratman!' manage to get away, leaving Alisha to her fate, or did Aylin just appear out of nowhere?

Aylin left the other group, leading soliders away. She decided to head home to gather things and bury Darius. Night had fallen (is was noon when she lead the soliders away) so she was heading home when she ran into fish char, which is close to where the portal was at, her home a little ways from there.
