I don't know how the knights do things in The Koray, you depicted one knight as careless, not Wolf, so I can't say much about this.

During World War 2, Japanese soldiers and German SS personnel did kill babies, and Turkish soldiers in World War 1 committed several genocides, though I am not sure if Wolf depicts the knights as such or not. Generally, to make adult soldiers want to even kill babies, they need to be brainwashed since childhood, and then believe their actions are justified based on an authority of some sort. This may be a basis for The Koray's unknightly knights.
