If we forgot story objectives and focused on the current predicament from Anja's viewpoint. There is no suitcase, no bag. Just a bleeding little girl who took a shot at you a minute ago. She has apparently tracked you across town after you busted your ass saving her from a fire.

Annie, no one cares about Annie Wells' backpack, they don't know and don't care what's inside. However, if the computer inside is still functional, I can add to that, alluding to a much more serious threat than the gangstas or Black Hand, but this will happen after the current mission is complete.
