OK Wolf, I think you mean no modern firearms, but firelocks/breech loaders are OK (referring to matchlock, flintlock, or wheellock, etc., old-fashioned firearms) then. Colonial themes mixed with a tribal environment is just a really cool thing to work with, I will try to make up to a few bios later to day, as I really like mixing features to diversify the setting.
Fun fact: Captain John Smith, who is portrayed in that Disney film Pocahontas, actually didn't get into a relationship with her, that was John Rolfe. The historic Captain John Smith was a curious fellow, who was a sailor, a charterer/mapmaker, mercenary, pirate, duelist, fought Turks for Romania, was knighted and so became a knight, was captured by Tartars and sold as a slave and sent to Constantinople, escaped his enslavement and fled to Poland and then Africa and then returned to England, was captured by the English authorities and sentenced to hanging, was relieved of his sentence, embarked on his adventure to the New World to assemble Virginia, captured a Native chief, was nearly killed by Powhatan but saved by Pocahontas, returned to England, set sail back to Virginia but his ship sank in a storm that he survived, tried to sail back to Virginia again but was captured by French pirates, escaped the French pirates, and finally died some years later, unable to return to Virginia. He had quite the adventure, hunh?
