By the way, I don't see Annie's student/teacher relationship with either Abraxus or Tempora ending well in any way. Apprentice/Mentor dynamics usually end in one of three ways:
1. Mentor is killed, Apprentice vows revenge.
2. Apprentice betrays/kills Mentor. "I am the master now!"
3. Mentor was just using Apprentice as a pawn to further their own agenda, and betrays them when it suits their goals.

Abraxus will probably be a 1, and Tempora could either be a 1 or a 3, unless Annie is captured by Soahc and turned to the Dark Side, in which case they could both be 2.

Alright, come off of it now guys. Tempora Sage has agreed to help teach Annie, allegedly. The timeline of Annie's magical discovery is as thus:

- In TFQ, Annie starts experiencing a strange power, where her magic overwhelms her and bursts out in all directions, severely harming herself in the process. For her role in the battle against the Dread Lord, and in freeing the slaves of Messia, she is ascended to quasigod by Arran via Abraxus Richardson.
- In TCG, Annie has a better grasp on her power, very rarely harming herself, but still not reaching her full potential. Her magic is unrefined, it is massive but it isn't maintained.
- In ITF, Tempora Sage agrees to become Annie's magical tutor.

So as you can see, Annie has always had power, power which she couldn't control, and then was given a massive responsibility on top of that with a power boost. Annie has learnt not to harm herself so much, but she still doesn't know the full extent of her power, she doesn't know what she could potentially achieve with training. Tempora is here so that Annie can realise her full potential.

Or is he?

... Thread where everyone starts off as noobs before any quest has been done with the chance to wildly change the outcome of every storyline in RS, or thread just after Guthix dies where everyone can join factions (including independent such as the Dragonkin, TzHaar, etc.) and either try to prevent or profiteer from the coming war?

The first would be contained to Lumbridge to begin with, due to the limited travelling capabilities of noobs. The second could start wherever because teletab party.

I'd probably go for the second, because I really wanna have a TzHaar character.

Of all the characters currently involved in the hag subplot, I actually trust Tempora more than I trust anyone else. He may have unknown motives, but he hasn't tried to free any demons, and isn't part-demon himself.

Oh, and Etheldredda conveniently hid the fact that killing the Hagfather would genocide an entire race.
