I've been doing a little bit of background reading for my next post. Is the Black Hand somehow in league with the American Mafia (Seeing as how protection gangs were called 'black hands')? O_o


EDIT: Apparently the Serbians also had a "Black hand" secret military group in the 1900's, if the wiki can be believed. That said, Annie would be a little far from home to help in any liberation efforts if that were the case.

Historically, the phrase "Black Hand" referred to a secretive criminal organization in New York during the early 1900s. Essentially the American version of the Mafia. They were responsible for underworld trade and business, terrorism, mass murder, criminal acts, and generic nastiness. I did not know there was a Serbian equivalent. I don't know what Annie's version is meant to be, but it does not seem to be based on the American Black Hand. I was thinking of implementing the historic one, if I can. I may be able to get Marcus involved, as he is also from New York.
