Capt, page 1099
I did not feel the need to explain all of Mary I's motives, I don't really like going into subjects of people dying. I was under the impression that most users would not really care about history, but in the future, I can delve more into it. Though last time I did that, it didn't go too well, and it was just as bad as on FaceBook/internet when I tried to explain that the global flood during Noah's ark, or the parting of the Red Sea, was not to be taken literally.

I wouldn't have a problem going for a Kingdoms of Karrus remake, seeing as it includes nations/factions which sounds different than other RPs which are mostly RP characters.

I'm currently considering joining Daralt, want to use a more original character. Perhaps a young and reckless Sand Elf archer who annoyingly says "shot 'em" every time he lands a hit with his bow. Ramsay Bolton is the king we deserve.

I have to be honest, I am planning for my next RP: This time it's a witch hunting one, though not anything like the Witcher, so that is taking precedence over all else. Well except getting 99 mining in game. ( I'm at 86, thus far) That being said, a KOK remake is something that would interest me.Though not like the way you're proposing. Sourusia being less overpowered: Check, Magic allowed: Check. It needs mounts like Pegasuses, wyverns, the occasional dragon. Unique magics that one can teach or not teach: check. If you allowed mythical ores or custom ores from our imaginations, that would pique my interest.

Updated siegecraft, such as cannons would be cool. Maybe allow guns as an alternative for nations who think magic is wrong, though nothing like machine guns. All these things can make a KOK remake so much more interesting, plus I won't have to make notes for everything like I did when I first started Rping the original KOK.

I want to keep it in the Middle Ages. Once you get into gunpowder technology, it becomes less about armored warriors charging across a battlefield to engage each other in combat, and more about a bunch of people lining up, firing at the same time, taking a minute to reload, and then firing again.

But if you choose to disregard magic completely (maybe your race is incapable of using it?) I will let you get away with having more land and soldiers than everyone else. But ultimately not wanting to use magic is like refusing to adopt firearms IRL: if you're going to send swordsmen against musketmen, you are going to have a bad time.

Alternatively, civilizations who are technologically backwards or have small armies/populations may be allowed to start out with an additional field of magic.

Capt, historically, there was bulletproof plate armour, as worn by European knights and Japanese samurai. If you need to balance out firearm usage, you may simply consider bulletproof armour, or simply disallow flintlock firearms, instead only allowing matchlock, so rainy/wet weather would have a chance for causing the gun to misfire.

Or, you could only allow early firearms, which were essentially miniature cannons on the end of handheld poles, as canons do predate handheld firearms. Handcanons are cool, too.

Oh, and I read a British account mentioning that a rhino-hide shield was capable of stopping bullets. Silk was also known to stop bullets.

Lasky, Guns appeared as early as the 8th century, I think. At this time, they were highly inaccurate and required one to be extremely close to one's target, They were also considered unchivalrous, captured gunmen were often executed. Like I said, We are not talking about machineguns. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)
