West, we can totally set up a betting pool.

Unfortunately, you don't run the betting pool, and they probably won't let the healers bet due to the aforementioned concerns about rigging the match.

The best thing to do would be to get another guy and have him bet an absurd amount of money on one fighter. Then buff the hell out of the fighter he bet on, and split the profits between the three of you. Of course, it will have to be during his second match, after he took a beating in the first. You'd also need to pick a fighter who either won't realize he has been buffed or won't say anything about it, and in the latter case you might have to cut him in as well since he will probably realize what you have planned.

And you better hope to god you don't get caught. The people take the fights very seriously.

Well, we'd kind of have to rig the game what with Ivis always putting us out of pocket. However will she afford the potion ingredients for a measly half-silver?!

EDIT: This should make for a fun buisness negotiation in-game. :P

I suppose it really depends on how much potion ingrediants cost.

A silver is one day's worth of hard work for a labourer, and enough to buy you a decent-sized room and two good meals at The Mercenary's Pub .

You're really just going to be healing bruises, bloody noses/mouths, concussions, and the occasional broken bone.

You'd be surprised just how cheap the ingredients for a minor healing poultice are, especially to someone with some serious merchanting experience.

Of course, it's not like ANYONE can make them. The magical spark is still necessary to infuse the ingredients, and potion itself, with the magical catalyst. Thus, she will soon be the main source of potions in the city. POTIONS!

You assume that she is the only alchemist in the city.

Maybe you could add a taboo or curse? The last five people who were assaulted by that vampire might have happened to have been healers and alchemists who tried setting up gambling rings during fight nights.

It would definitely explain why the fight ring no longer has a healer.
