I wonder why Jagex never got around to making a ScapeRune based quest.
I mean, it was such a cool concept.
Why aren't random events a thing anymore, anyways? I get that they weren't very good at stopping bots, but the rewards were fun. And quests like Recipe for Disaster often referenced them, but because of their removal new players had no idea what they were talking about.

Because it was "unfair" when people died because they were too lazy to walk away from a dwarf throwing literal
pebbles
. Or. You know. Talk to the guy to make him stop. Or maybe they just didn't like the "good stuff".
I have to admit, I'm glad to be rid of that tsundere sandwich lady though. She was mean.

A lot of younger players didn't understand what was happening to them, leading to 'unfair' deaths. Also, losing your picaxe, hatchet, etc. was seen as rather annoying.

(Examines broken pickaxe)
That one dwarf in Ice Mountain can fix this for you, dummy!
(Looks up at sky)
"HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS THING!?"
Dude, I literally just said-
"Guys, what do I do? Does anyone know what to do?"
Everyone else is a bot, programmed to avoid the weird gas clouds that appear above ore.
"This game is so unfair! How was I supposed to know that the extremely ominous gas cloud was going to explode!?"
