It's more of a spiritual argument. Is it Tyrrus, as the forefather of man and founder of justice, who appointed Janus to the Halls of Time and banished Soahc, before willingly taking his own leave of absence as he believed Engelain was ready to progress on its own merit? Or it is Janus, and Tyrrus who is the most-worshipped and most-beloved of the gods is simply a pawn, completely powerless to stop Janus and forced to bow down to the whims of another?

I suppose it doesn't matter much to the thread at large, but it's a hotly debated topic within the world itself. Some are of the belief that the Church of Engelain put Janus on top simply to annoy the Tyrannian Church.]

So much confusion behind everything, I can definitely see the appeal behind Arran's "**** all gods" and Soahc's "**** everything" philosophies.

Church of Engelain definitely makes more sense though. Janus did intervene at the end of the Final Quest, right? Where was Tyrrus in all this?

Edit: Actually, wait a minute, if Tyrrus came first, then what would his relation be to Janus? He has to be the Great Grandfather, because he was the father of Soahc. Would that make Janus a Great Uncle, because he would technically be Soahc's brother?

Oh god this is making my head hurt...

Tyrannian Church: Arran is given his powers by Soahc, son of Tyrrus. Tyrrus creates Janus, Fiara and Ciera, etc., making Janus a (non-biological) brother to Soahc, though you could argue whether they are 'brothers' or if Janus counts more as an invention as he was made, not birthed. Of course, the presumption that Soahc was born is up in the air, and the topic of who his mother is generally suggests some inter-family play...

Daddy Arran, Granddaddy Soahc, Great-Granddaddy Tyrrus, Great Uncle Janus, Great Aunt Fiara, Great Aunt Ciera...

Church of Engelain: Arran is given his powers by Soahc, son of Tyrrus. Tyrrus is created by Janus, as is Fiara, Ciera, etc. Tyrrus is the (non-biological) son of Janus, and therefore full-brother of Fiara and Ciera, who are only kinda related to Soahc due to him being through proper birthing methods (allegedly.)

Daddy Arran, Granddaddy Soahc, Great-Granddaddy Tyrrus, Great-Great-Granddaddy Janus, Great Great Aunt Fiara, Great Great Aunt Ciera...

Maybe.

Maybe Soahc wants to teach her to use her or something.

It's almost like you want Annie to go Dark Side...

I'm kind of curious to know what Arran thinks of Annie's current actions. Is he nodding with approval? Facepalming hard? Busy doing something else?

On the same note, we should all be thankful to Annie, Westenev and Na*BloodWolf, as those three are solely responsible for the continual funding of the Story and Roleplaying subforum.

Damn premium players.

You know what would be really great?

If Jagex created an App that notified you everytime someone posted on a thread you were actively following.

But sadly that is only really useful for Roleplayers and Forum Gamers. They wouldn't create a brand new app for so few people.

This could be argued to have boons for clan forum recruitment or sales outside of the grand exchange as well (thus giving the forums a purpose besides ranting on the High Level Forum). If you could get a ping in-game when someone posts on a thread you posted (or if you were referenced in the post), then it could make responses on the forums a lot easier to come by. For maximum accessibility, you could probably also link it to the Runescape android app already in existence.

This is, of course, wild mass speculation because I have little knowledge of programming. O_o

I probably should have put up a summary of TFQ and TCG for those who didn't partake, but I didn't want there to be too much of an info-dump and put off potential joiners. At the end of The Final Quest, with the defeat of the Dread Lord, Janus offered to transfer the Heroes of Messia to an alternate present where the Dread Lord never rose, as with the Dread Lord defeated and therefore posing no risk to enter the Halls of Janus, Janus could go back in time and eradicate the threat before it ever existed.

Janus also established that the Dread Lord's true name was Acoxyle, and is in fact the lieutenant to some greater evil. Of course, the alternate present, (the one of ITF,) isn't some perfect fix, there's a lot of discrepancies that appear to show some things might have survived Janus's history-wipe.

Tyrrus, like the other gods of the time, was assumedly either being held an emotional hostage, (the Dread Lord was a collector of things/people precious to various deities to keep them from interfering,) or otherwise preoccupied, (Tyrrus can technically still roam the planet, just not Engelain proper, and can travel to other worlds if he saw fit,) or still restricted by Janus's edicts, (though the Dread Lord was able to circumvent them, which is a question unto itself.)

There has to be a reason why Soahc took her teacher to stop her learning from Arran ways.

I thought he was bait.

Actually... back to Soahc's claim to have overloaded Arran with energy and killed him.

That is most likely false, unless a god pretending to be Arran gave Annie her powers. So was Soahc just trolling Abraxus, is he trying to shake people's faith in Arran, or was Arran's ascension never meant to become public?

Or maybe Soahc somehow created two versions of himself, one of which is pretending to be Arran?
