In all seriousness though, if Azul joins the group, then the group will fall apart. Realistically, I can only see Annie, Etheldredda, and Judy taking Azul along on the quest. A few people (Br'nard, Joric, Kuro) would most likely die before they let Azul go free, if I have judged their characters right.

The rest (Rovaan, Siera, Zed if Venom magically returns, and Duncan's character whose name escapes me) would likely form their own group and either a) try to complete the quest on their own, b) stop the other group, or c) run for the hills. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Azul isn't going to be spared, at least not by anyone but Annie. The only ways he survives are by running away or killing everyone else, which would mean only Annie's little group is left anyways. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Well, not everyone has to die. Some could flee or be knocked out.

But I wonder what happens when Azul is finally killed. Will the more zealous demon-haters splinter off anyways? Will Annie or Judy be banished from the group? Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Anyone who is knocked out is probably just going to be executed. That's what anyone smart would do to someone who is guaranteed to oppose them should they live.

OK Angel, I'll keep those in mind, and see what I can do. I meant that Mechanical and Newborn are the same entity, Newborn from the present, Mechanical from the future yet existing in the past, suggesting that Spirry had bilocated prior to the start of Into the Fire, unless the giant spider from the future was wrong about being sent from the future. I suppose stranger things have happened in the thread though!
