Care to give your vote for what the *sequel shall be titled? So far Debt of Honor seems to be the favorite.

Wow Smurf, you are just flicking off everybody today O_o
Alright, I will begin working on Chapter 4 shortly. Also, I am going to go back and put in "Author's Notes" at the end of each chapter. With such a long story as this, it will help keep track of it all and help everyone understand what is *really* going on. The Underground is just the tip of the iceberg.

Chapter 4: An Unexpected Visit
Kargill slipped on his gauntlets and headed out the door. Outside the White Knight living area, Roven was waiting for him.
“Are you ready to go?” Roven asked. Roven was clad in his crimson dragon armor. He had his broadsword in its sheath, and across his back was his round shield. Attached to his belt he had his battle ax. Roven's parents had come from Faladorian Nobility, and he was fortunate to be able to afford such luxeries.
Kargill stood across from him with his mage robes, the same kind used by Ahrim, the Barrows brother. He had both his battle staff and his crystal sword. Across his belt he had his throwing knives and assorted ingredients and vials for his most potent magic spells. They were both well equipped for battle. If they did have any luck in finding the killer, there would certainly be a fight.
“I am almost ready,” replied Kargill. “Is Kane coming with us? He helped us quite a bit with the case.”
“He said he is busy,” replied Roven.
“Busy doing what?”
“I have no idea. In case you haven’t been able to tell Kane isn’t exactly a talkative guy.” Roven and Kargill then began to make their way out of the White Knights' Castle and over to the stable boy. It was just past dawn, and they were the only ones on the road.
“What is the point of going out this is early when the merchant in going to be asleep?” Kargill asked.
“You know Commander Lorad likes us all to be up nice and early. Who knows, we might just have a little luck,” he replied with a groan.

Kargill and Roven both turned as they heard an old women scream.
“Help! Help! It is the killer! Guards! Guards!” The old lady screamed.
“Relax, we are with the White Knights,” Kargill replied while holding up his badge. “These are just my robes.”
“You boys should know better than to walk around in those black robes after what happened! You should learn to show some respect!”
“Well now that is the third time someone has tried calling the guards on me,” replied Kargill with a sigh. The few people that had been out this early were now coming to see what the screaming was about. Kargill and Roven continued over to the stables. After they eventually got to the stables, they were shocked to see Kane standing there. He was wearing his White Knight uniform, and was leaning against the wall smoking a cigar. Kane did not even acknowledge them as they approached. He just kept on smoking his cigar. Sitting to the side of him was his black cavalier. Kane had learned the hard way not to smoke while wearing his favorite hat. His fellow White Knights would never let him forget the time he had accidently set it on fire.

“What are you doing, Kane?” Kargill asked.
“What does it look like I am doing?” Kane replied. He had a very serious face for a twenty-four year old. Kargill could barely see his eyes through his long brown hair.
“You do know you can’t smoke at the stables?”
“I don’t see any signs,” Kane replied.
"Why do you smoke those things? Don't you know they will kill you?"
"Not as fast as my obsidian maul will kill," replied Kane, fingering the large hammer that was strum across his back.
“Well, what are you doing here? I thought you said you were busy?” Roven asked this time.
“I am busy. In fact I am very busy.” With that Kane took one last long drag on his cigar before discarding it. He stood up from the wall and walked past Kargill and Roven.
“Hey Kane, you forgot your hat!” Kargill yelled to him. Kane did not turn around and kept walking. “Kane you forgot your hat!”
“I think he left it on purpose,” Roven replied.
“Why would he do that?”
“Who knows,” replied Roven as he picked up the hat. As Roven looked inside the hat he found a piece of parchment inside the brim. As he unfolded the parchment, he let out a small laugh.

“What is it?” Kargill asked.
“It looks like Kane already did our job for us,” Roven replied.
“What does the note say?”
“He says he already went to the see the merchant. The merchant was ‘persuaded’ into telling him that a tall and lean man in dark robes came and visited him about the dagger he had sold while he was in Burthrope. He says the man seemed like a Burthropian native."
“What makes him say that?”
“The note says that Kane asked that same question, and the merchant got all mad at him. He went on a rampage talking about how ‘he has traveled all over Runescape for over thirty years’ and so on.”
“Well, it may be a bit of a stretch, but I guess we head over to Burthrope,” Kargill replied. “It is time to take down a killer.”
“Can we really trust Kane on this though? I mean he is a good guy, but he is a bit strange.”
“I think we at least owe him the benefit of the doubt,” With that, Kargill pulled out his commsphere and called up the operator.
“This is the operator,” she replied.
“Hey operator, this is Kargill and Roven. We have a lead on the case. Can you tell Commander Lorad that we are going to Burthrope?”
“But Burthrope is out of our jurisdiction!”
“I know that, but just tell Commander Lorad anyway, okay?”
“Alright,” the operator replied with doubt in her voice. “I hope you guys know what you are doing.”
“We do,” replied Kargill. He turned off his commsphere and started walking over to the horses.
“You know what you are doing?” Roven asked. “If we are found in Burthrope we will be killed!” Lately the conflict between the White Knights and the Burthropian Guard had escalated. They were now on the brink of war over territory disagreements, and the fact that Asgarnian and Misthalin criminals would often hide out in Burthrope. If an enemy soldier was found on there grounds, they could be killed or imprisoned.
"No, but we will think of something."
End of Chapter 4
