I'd suggest probably around five chapters would give you a decent chance to demonstrate what I'd need to see to make you a Bard.

That will take a little bit, considering how much I actually write daily. But I shall try, and aim for the rank of Novelist or Maestro.

That's the spirit.

I've no doubt that, if you keep writing, you'll become as good as you want to be. Judged on the admittedly small sample size of your TNG application, you're probably already ahead of where I was when I first started.

That really is the only truth. Read a lot, write a lot, and you'll be amazed where you end up (with great grades in English a nifty bonus, generally).
