To Wulvash the looks he received were easily ignored, his patience having skyrocketed over the years since he left his homeland. He had seen a great many places, dealt with the most unpleasant vitriol and liberated enough heads from shoulders to understand the value of being the 'bigger man', to use a human saying.

Thus the overheard insult provoked little in the way of anger from the drakonian. It was a common insult to the faith of his people, one that in his younger years he would have readily challenged the sailor to a duel for the sake of avenging the indignity - but he had grown since then. Wulvash had grown distant from his people's religion as his exposure to the faith became near non-existant, seeing barely a handful of his brethren since departing his home. He had become more worldly, learning the peculiarities of the other race's religions and beliefs - and finding himself able to cast a critical eye upon both them and his own.

While no atheist, the drakonian found himself far more tolerant of things he would have once taken a man's head for - and considerably more skeptical of all religions.

" I would advise against comments like that within earshot of my brethren, human, " He remarked idly, not taking his eyes from the bustle of the docks - his voice deep enough to carry, yet lowered just below the point where it would reach his fellows drakonians on the other end of the ship. " Their tolerance is usually as bad as your own. "

Octavius

Denied.

“Oh, mama mia, mama mia!” Octavius exclaimed, raising his hands and lowering his head in surrender, then waddled back onto the ship as if nothing happened. Chances are, the armoured woman wouldn’t forget Octavius’ little gesture, but he didn’t really care. Adventure awaits!

The Sea Drake

Griselda finished her sea-gazing, then went up the docks, sliding her hand along the posts. She boarded the ship after Octavius, having a hunch he was a bit of a twit at times. She would keep her guard up around him.

As Caspara and Xavakuun argued non-stop, they did not seem to overhear the insultive comment one of the sailors had said. Caspara thought she heard something funny, and turned her head. The other Drakonian warned a sailor of such comments, but since Wulvash clearly didn’t freak out, and Caspara tended to not care about foreigners, she figured the comment wasn’t anything serious. As for Xavakuun, well, he was a bit of a dimwit at times, and could not possibly realize what was said.

“...You said you didn’t like it, so I ate it,” Xavakuun grumbled.

“Just because I didn’t like it, doesn’t mean I wouldn't eat it!” Caspara grumbled back, turning her head back to her dumb brother.

"Well, it kinda does mean you wouldn't ..."

"Pfff, you take one nibble, and half my food's gone! That's the problem!"

"I'm a big guy, I need more food than you. And besides, you take one sip, and half my wine's gone. You drink more than me at times!"

"You said I could have it!"

"But I didn't say you could chug half of it!"

They then argued about semantics and food, and wine...

Escalation

"And I would advise against praying to your shit-gods on this ship, lizard," the crewmember spat defiantly, this time loud enough for the other two Drakonians to hear. "We won't 'ave you cursing our voyage." The human crewmembers within earshot stopped and looked at him at him with mixtures of surprise and fear - even they seemed to think the man was being unwise.

Yet others were emboldened. Three more humans stepped up next to him. One was a mercenary - an arrogant dark-haired man in boiled leather. The other was a crewmember - a woman with blonde hair.

"Aye," the woman agreed, "and that's assuming he don't try to eat us when we run low on meat."

"And who is this?" The dark-haired mercenary stepped forward, eying Zensira up and down. "Your own personal harlot? Doesn't seem your type - seems like she's missing a few too many scales. Wouldn't you prefer a real man, girl?"

By now even more heads had begun to turn, and soon almost everyone on deck was looking toward the conflict. The Mercenary Captains were oblivious, still standing at the gangplank and welcoming newcomers on board. The Captain of the ship itself stood near the wheel, distracted by a conversation with Lieutenant Ironfist, laughing at some joke he just told. It would not take long for them to notice, but perhaps it would be best to diffuse the confrontation before they did.

Annie heard the confrontation against the Drakonians and Zensira with the humans. She knew she had to do something. She walked towards the confrontation and said," I don't think they will curse our voyage and won't eat us if our meat gets low. Ithink you guys will curse our voyage. So knock it off! We need everyone to complet this voyage. Leave them alone. She prefer a man better then you!" She was ready to fight if she had too. -Dances-

Griselda may have heard what was spoken aloud, but she did not react. She was too old to deal with childish idiocy, and did not want to risk any unnecessary conflict. So she kept herself to herself, for now.

As for Octavius, he lazily leaned against the railings of the ship, visor lifted, enjoying his skin of wine and the salty air. After a chug, he looked over yonder, overhearing one of the sailors exclaim his views on Drakonians.

Caspara suddenly tilted her head back, tongue and teeth open for the world to see, and she let off an angry shout. Her brother did not seem bothered, but did look at the mercenary.
A few other humans joined in the drama. The comments were not only directed against the lizards, but one of the mercenaries made a few crude remarks about the Drow in relation to her master.

Octavius chuckled at what he heard, and then a teenage girl scuttled to the scene with her short legs, stating her rather poorly-worded, badly-spoken opinion on the matter, which was a repetition of what she heard but in a different perspective.

“Ohh hoh hoh hoh hoh hoh!” Octavius heartily but pretentiously laughed at Annie’s wisdom, rearing his head back, a little wine spattering out his mouth. He looked to the side, and saw the Drakonian siblings turn their heads, then start walking across the deck. “ Ohhhh! Hoh hoh hoh hoh hoh!” he laughed, Caspara giving him an annoyed look as she past him.

“Laugh like that again, and I’ll hit you,” Caspara warned, Octavius just burping.

Suddenly, Octavius darted forth past the Drakonian siblings, stopping near Zensira and stroking her head. “Nope, this one’s not for you ,” he remarked to the mercenary, "or you ," he said to Wulvash, then pointed at Annie, “she’s for her . They like to form a shield wall, without spears, and then do all the eating they want. Ohhhh! Hoh hoh hoh hoh!” Octavius bellowed, then suddenly was hit in the back and fell over, Caspara walking over him.

Xavakuun and Caspara stood nearby the condescending humans, towering over them all. Xavakuun was tolerant to foreigners, and Caspara usually didn’t care about foreign opinions, but going as far as exclaiming ‘shit-gods’ was beyond either of their patience. Not only was it an immature insult, it was also referring to a polytheism that Drakonians did not believe in.

Just as it would seem Caspara would cross her arms and keep her distance, she suddenly stepped forth, leaning into the crewmember. She exhaled through her nostrils, blowing some of the man’s hair up, and pushed her muzzle against his forehead. She made a little growl, then took a quick inhale.

“Listen right here, you fucking piece of shit ,” Caspara cussed, her tone of voice something between nonchalant and demanding. “You know nothing about us, or of the world. You say and think this way because you feel insignificant, and you want to be important at the expense of others because you won’t ever do anything on your own,” she asserted, her brother standing nearby, arms crossed, just in case, but said nothing.

Ah, he was one of THOSE types. Sailors tended to be more superstitious than most, albeit whether the man truly believed a drakonian's beliefs would bring ruin upon them all or if he were simply a racist fueled by hearsay and rumour was not certain. Either way, he was not being very smart.

Not that it seemed to dissuade others from standing with him - a rumour spouting woman unabashedly accusing him of turning to human flesh should their supplies run low. It wasn't the first time he'd heard such an accusation. Indeed, thinking back to his brethren on drakonia he'd even laughed at such a notion - considering the often meatless diets of many he had once known. As if a drakonian would taint themselves with the unappealing pink-grey flesh of humans.

It was the mercenary that drew the most amount of ire, Wulvash having turned to face the sailors once the insults fired up more brazenly - but now his eyes fell upon the arrogant man in leathers. Long had he grown tolerant of such words spewed at him, many a town looking for any excuse to call guards and have him removed from the picture - but insults towards his companion were harder to ignore... Especially when she so staunchly refused to defend herself from verbal abuse. As if used to it, which he didn't deny was likely the case.

The brave but clumsy retorts of a young human girl showed that not all aboard were in the same category, albeit she did not appear well-versed in using her words - resorting to a somewhat childish retort of 'no, you are' in effect. Still, it was appreciated but ultimately unnecessary.

" It sounds like you're issuing me a challenge, humans, " Wulvash rumbled, stepping away from the edge of the ship and up to Zensira's side. He stared down at them, narrowing his gaze particularly at the mercenary. " Such direct insults are always call for a challenge in my homeland... Or is it different where you come from? I wouldn't know, I'm just a filthy 'shit-worshipper', after all. "

Arguments and confrontations were not something Zensira was entirely unaccustomed to, although during her time as a slave she had spent very little time out in the actual world. Most of the disagreements that she had witnessed had come during whatever audiences her Master had been giving others, during which she would always stand there as if nothing more than a statue. Verbal abuse and threats were always part of the discussions, and she had been told that she needed to learn about the art of discourse. It was not so that she could participate, but rather so she could act when her Master gave the command beforehand.

No, it wasn’t the argument itself that caused the look of slight confusion to appear on her face. It was more that not everything was directed at those around her, that it was directed at her . She shouldn’t be addressed, at least not before those doing so asked her Master for permission. One human even went farther, and touched her, and for the briefest moment she was no longer simply a statue. Something of this nature was unacceptable, and although no emotion appeared on her face or in her eyes, something imperceptible changed in the air around her.

For a second, the waters at the side of the ship began to ripple, droplets beginning to rise and climb through the air up towards the deck. They got perhaps half the way up, maybe a dozen of them about an inch or two across, before the offender was taken down by a strike from one of the others. At this, the upward movement of the water ceased and the droplets fell back into the sea as Zensira returned to being little more than a statue. She had made no physical movement, so even if the small disturbance had been noticed it was unlikely to be tied to her by anyone of average deduction abilities.

There had been very few exceptions where she was not allowed to act without direct orders, but this was one of them. Her Master had disliked others touching his property without his permission, and had therefore ordered her to hurt them should they do so. Her current Master was aware of this, as she had told him as such when asked about it, and as he had given no direct counter-order it was still fully in effect. He had likely realized this when she had been touched, but since the situation was taken care of, and she seemed to have returned to her passive state, there wasn’t a need to do something.

However, now that someone had indeed touched her, Zensira was just the slightest bit more aware. It was only visible to someone who had knowledge about how she acted, but she was not fully returned to what she had been before. As she saw the situation, there may be a need to do such a thing again, and it would be an order that she had to obey.

De-escalation

The trio of racists, once so bold and arrogant in the face of one Drakonian, suddenly lost their confidence in the face of three. The man who started the entire thing found himself involuntarily backpedaling with Caspara's violation of his personal space. The dark-haired sellsword appeared uncertain as to whether or not he should accept the challenge, come up with a witty retort, or simply find an excuse to be elsewhere. The blonde haired woman inched away.

Zensira's subtle use of spellcasting appeared to have gone unnoticed. The argument, however, had not.

"What is the meaning of this!?" The ship's Captain shouted, rushing down the stairs to the next deck. He wore a fine crimson coat with a shining black hat, with a short brown beard streaked with grey. There was a cutlass at his hip. He came to a stop just a few feet away from the confrontation, with Joric Ironfist only a step behind him.

"Captain Robert!" the blonde haired woman protested nervously. "These Drakonians were threatening us!"

The Captain's eyes narrowed. "And I'm sure you did absolutely nothing to provoke them..." he responded, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Then he shook his head, and turned to the one who started it all. "Starting a fight with the people who are going to be protecting your sorry hide? I thought you'd have more sense than that. Both of you, get back to your posts. The two of you will receive five lashes tonight, in full view of the assembled crew."

The two crew members paled slightly, but nodded. They rushed back to work.

Then Vanick appeared on deck, along with another Mercenary Captain - the chainmail-wearing man who wielded a longbow. The bowman had short blond hair and tanned skin, and looked at the dark-haired mercenary with visible recognition, and the mercenary's previously cocky expression suddenly gave way to fear.

"What's going on?" Vanick demanded, glancing between Captain Robert and
