"Bit of a dispute here," the Captain answered calmly, waving his hand as if shooing away a cloud of smoke. "Two of the crew and one of your mercenaries didn't take kindly to these Drakonians. Not the first time something like this has happened, but I intend for it to be the last. I'll see that my own crew members are punished, but this fool..." he gestured towards the dark-haired mercenary "...is in your hands."

And with that, the Captain walked away.

"Athel, what have you gotten yourself into?" the blond-haired captain muttered.

"Captain, I can exp-" Athel began.

"Quiet!" the Archer-Captain cut him off. Then he turned to face Wulvash. "You. Lizard. In your own words, what happened?"

Annie respond in a calm voice," Captain, they was just standing there and buying their own business. Then crew started to insulting the Drakonians and the Drow. They called them a filthy 'shit-worshippers. One of them called the Drow a harlot and asked her if she preferred a real man. That's what happened. It was rude and I had to step in." -Dances-

The situation was swiftly resolved upon the arrival of the ship's captain who seemed to judge the situation pretty well - scolding his two crew members and declaring their punishment, letting them scurry off on their way. Vanick and another of the mercenary captains moved upon the scene moments later, the captain providing a basic summary and leaving the mercenary's fate in the hands of his captain. Meanwhile, Wulvash was called upon to explain the situation by his own view.

Not that it seemed to bother the young human girl, who immediately launched into her own explanation of what happened - despite not being a 'lizard'. Her description was mostly accurate, luckily, albeit her way of speaking seemed strange, as if she may have been foreign and not quite used to the language she was using, making it come across as a little stilted. Still, he supposed she was just overly eager or something to speak up so quickly. The drakonian's eyes glanced over at the now scared mercenary before returning to the blonde archer.

" The captain and this girl's descriptions are mostly accurate. The crewman started this with muttered insults, the usual bile my kind hear in these lands, " He replied, shaking his head with exasperation. " Your man thought it smart to insult and proposition my companion, in that order. "

He paused, glancing down at the form of Octavius before turning his attention to Vanick.

" And as an aside, this one doesn't appear to understand the idea of personal space. "

Justice

The blond man looked from Zensira to Athel, with an expression of really? Not only was the girl not even human, but she still had the look of a child. Other witnesses began to nod to confirm the story.

The mercenary captain sighed, and for several seconds there was silence, as he considered his next action. Finally, he spoke, and when he did, he only said four words.

"Athel, can you swim?"

"Sir?" Athel questioned, confused.

"Can you swim?"

"Um... yes?" Athel answered reluctantly, before horrifying realization dawned on his face.

"Cedric, Marion, I trust you're sharp enough to see where I'm going with this." The Ranger Captain said to two particularly bulky observers. He waved a hand toward the side of the ship. "See to it."

The two men nodded. They stepped forward on other side of Athel, and grabbed him by the arms. "Wait, no!" He protested. They dragged him towards the edge, and he fought them all the way, but he was not strong enough. He reached for a knife, but one of the mercenaries restraining him got to it first and cast it aside.

Then, finally, they were at the edge. While Cedric seized Athel's by the collar and pushed him back against the railing, Marion lifted Athel's legs. Then Cedric let go, and Athel rolled backwards. There was a short scream cut off by a splash! , followed by the laughter of several crew members and mercenaries. Anyone who checked to see what happened would see him surface mere moments later, and then swim toward the dock.

The Red Ranger Captain walked toward the young drow. "I apologize for the conduct of my man." He said, a slight smirk appearing on his face. Then he turned away and walked back down the gangplank to the dock, where Athel was approaching with an expression of pure fury. The Red Ranger merely put one hand on his bow, while the other armoured Captain took this as a queue to put a hand on her own weapon, and that was enough to convince Athel to turn back.

"Show's over! The rest of you get back to work as well!" Captain Robert shouted from the helm, and that order sent the rest of the crewmembers scurrying back to their tasks. With the excitement over, the other mercenaries began to turn away as well, until it was just Annie, the Drakonians, Zensira, and Octavius.

Vanick beckoned the Drakonians over, with an expression of mild disapproval. "What were you thinking?" He demanded. "You may not have started that spat, but it didn't need to progress to that point. I'm not saying you were wrong to stand up for yourselves, but now we're a man down and the two others are going to hate your people even more. In the future, if anyone else makes any comments, just let it go. We can't afford unnecessary tension on a trip like this."

Annie was happy that Athel was thrown off the boat and the othe sailors were getting punished for what they did. She listened to what the captain told them. She disagreed with some of the things he said but not all. She said,"captain, the sailors where the ones who progress to that point. Not the Drakonians. They tried to ignore them. They kept going and then they went after the Drow. I understand that we unnecessary tension on this journey and ignore what there mean comments. I hope there is no more tension during this journey."

A few seconds later she asked," Captain, what do you want me to do during this journey?" She hopes that he gives her a job so, she was not bored during this journey.

While Griselda was sea-gazing, she had seen some masses of water rising, going up the ship, but suddenly, the rising water fell. It was a peculiar thing to notice, but Griselda did not react, and continued sea-gazing as if nothing had happened.

The captain, Robert, was quite an upstanding man, not believing the mate’s lie. Caspara was surprised by how tolerant Robert was, as well as that the punishment would be five lashings for the offenders. In fact, she became dumbstruck, eyes wide and unblinking, mandibles shut. She expected nothing to happen, just wanting to have solved the problem on her own and move on without further ado. Her brother made little reaction. There was only so much a scaly face could express, though he did not expect lashings, either. The twins grew up fighting constantly. For them, conflict was normal, and any outside authority didn’t normally step in, unless it was their parents.

Wulvash explained what had happened, Annie also exclaiming her point of view. The Drow remained quiet for the time being, not even complaining about Octavius, but her master mentioned Octavius’ touchy behaviour. Octavius shrugged at the Drakonian.

“I am very nice,” Octavius assured. Perhaps he had a point, he didn’t even complain about Caspara knocking him over from behind. In fact, basically no one seemed to have saw that happen, most of the attention probably having been fixated on the Drakonian drama.

One of the mercenaries, known as Athel, was thrown overboard by Marion and Cedric, Octavius laughing at that. Xavakuun and Caspara chuckled, Griselda having walked by and looked overboard, Athel swimming his way to the docks. Octavius popped over the railings as well, and he performed a queenly wave.

Vanick got the attention of the Drakonians, telling them the consequences of their actions, and what they should do in the future.

“Yes,” Xavakuun simply remarked, but Caspara paid a bit more attention. She was a scaly bitch, but deep down, she did care, it just didn’t show that often.

“Captain Robert was very just for our sake. Do you think it would be a good idea if I went to him and requested their punishments to be less? I honestly didn’t expect any lashings. I got very angry because I was arguing with my brother all morning, and just did not have any patience anymore,” Caspara spoke, waiting for Annie to finish her conversation with the captain.

A punishment for going against the will of the one who commanded you was correct, yet the following response was what Zensira did not understand. Obedience was kept by punishments when the slave did something wrong, but to prevent them from returning afterward removed the entire reason for the punishment. For the sailors, this was in order: they were to be punished and then they would remain. For the mercenary, forcing him to leave seemed wrong.

This problem was even addressed by the one that her Master was taking commands from. Removing him seemed to do nothing but weaken what they were trying to do. Keeping the obedience of those you commanded was useless if you simply removed them at the first sign of disobedience.

She made no response to the apology of the mercenary captain other than to give a small glance in the direction of her Master. It was not a question, not directly, but she had learned that Master Wulvash seemed to prefer if she did that in situations such as this, rather than fully wait for a response from him. It had to do with her “independence”, as he had put it a few times, but since that meant nothing to her she simply took the cues to follow what he seemed to want most.

As for the rest of the conversation, she listened, but did not speak. There was no command for her to do so, and it wasn’t her place to have an opinion on matters of those who were above her.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Of all the things that could have happened, Wulvash would be first to admit throwing the mercenary overboard was not high on his list. Indeed, he was quite surprised that the man's captain had taken it so far - albeit Wulvash would not exactly shed a tear over the man not being apart of the voyage. Even so, it seemed like an unusually strict punishment for something that seemed... Well, ultimately rather minor. By no means did it make the unpleasant remarks of the mercenary justified, but at most he expected a reprimanding.

The drakonian eyed the archer captain critically. Either this was not the first problem caused by 'Athel', or the man ran a particularly tight ship when it came to his company. In regards to Zensira's glance towards him Wulvash gave no indication of a response, having realized that during such moments she would always turn to him for some kind of push at what she should do - but that went against his point of making her more independant, and thus gave away nothing of what he might or might not have expected from her.

But all was not over for the Arenar company, as Vanick called the participants over for a stern talking to. The two other drakonians seemed to accept the reprimanding with stoicism, albeit the female came out with a suggestion of making some form of peace - unexpected, but it could go over well. Meanwhile, the young human girl talked their captain's ear off trying to make him see that it was the sailors at fault and not the drakonians, which felt unnecessary at this point.

Finally, given a moment to put in his own opinion, the great lizard let out a rumbling sigh.

" Whether it was their fault or our own is not the captain's point, child, " He set aside a comment for the human girl first, giving Vanick one less thing he needed to deal with before bringing his gaze back to the man in question. " Short of an attempted attack against me or my companion, you will hear no further issues from my end, captain. "
