Human Religion

It is believed that the world was created by two siblings: the God of Order, and the God of Chaos. While they cooperated at first, eventually their different teachings turned them against each other, resulting in a fight. During the fight, both of them perished, and the fragments of their souls manifested into the Aspects.

Aspects of Order
Marius: God of Loyalty, Obedience, and Servitude.
Dario: God of Honesty, Integrity, and Honour.
Aelia: Goddess of Marriage, Fertility, and Family.
Camilla: Goddess of Peace, Stability, and Security.

Aspects of Chaos
Gerrus: God of Creativity, Expression, and Art.
Cassius: God of Cunning, Change, and Ambition.
Shayla: Goddess of Revelry, Celebration, and Wild Behavior.
Gaius: God of War, Valour, and Courage.

Aspects of Good
Eolus: God of Light and Redemption.
Arrus: God of Justice.
Klora: Goddess of Charity and Kindness.
Marla: Goddess of Mercy and Non-Violence.

Aspects of Evil
Orito: God of Curses and Outcasts.
Lario: God of Greed and Desire.
Rasha: Goddess of Rage and Vengeance.
Decima: Goddess of Destruction and Cruelty.

Dwarven Religion

The Dwarves worship the Forgefather, but they do not pray to him directly. Instead, they pray to his creations.

The Foundation: Refers to the very world in which we live.

The Four Pillars: Valour, Labour, Honour, and Revelry. Each one represents a vital aspect of Dwarven life.

The Ceiling: Refers to Dwarven society itself.

Elven Religion

The Elves do not worship any named Gods. When an elf dies, their family returns them to the Earth, allowing their spirit to depart their body so that they might watch over their future descendants. The Elves pray to the spirits of their ancestors for guidance and wisdom.

The Drow Religion

The Drows do not have a religion.

The Orcish Religion

The Orcs worship a God called Rorak, who represents Strength, Power, and Courage. They believe that he created the other races as a challenge to the Orcs; an opponent to conduct battle with. Orcs who die heroically in battle are freed from their mortal coil, and sent to Rorak's hall where they may feast and fight forever and never tire. Those who do not die heroically in battle will be re-incarnated so that they may try again. Those who shame themselves will have their soul destroyed forever.

The Drakonian Religion

The Drakonians worship a single god known as the Creator, which is depicted as a giant dragon with white scales. The Creator is said to have... well, created the world and all who live on it. It was so exhausted from the effort that it fell asleep, leaving a world that was far from perfect.

It is said that one day the Creator will wake up, and realize the imperfection of its creation. It will transform into the Destroyer, turning its scales black, and it will devour the world. Once the realm has been fully digested, the Destroyer will turn into the Creator once more, and reshape the dung into a new world. This cycle will continue endlessly until the Dragon is finally satisfied with its creation.

Some might laugh at this image, but the Drakonians take it very seriously, and will not suffer any perceived insults.

The Pixie Religion

The Pixies worship the Great Mother, a Pixie who has managed to achieve eternal life and is worshipped like a god. She preaches peace, tolerance, and unity, but also decrees that they must defend themselves if necessary.

The Merfolk Religion

The Merfolk worship Hydrus, God of the Sea, Master of the Currents and Tides. It is he they pray to for safety and protection. The Merfolk also carry the belief that the gods of other religions do exist, but hold no power over the sea, and thus hold no power over Hydrus or the Merfolk. However, when traveling on land, most merfolk will adhere to the religious customs of whatever region they are in.

The Orbs of Creation

The Orbs of Creation contain immense power. Where they came from is uncertain, but the general consensus is that is has something to with... well, creation. The Humans and Dwarves believed they were tools that their god(s) used to shape the world. The Drows and Pixies believe they are the source of magic. The Merfolk, Drakonians, and Elves believe they are what powers existence itself. Lastly, the Orcs and Goblins believe they are prizes, waiting to be claimed by the worthy.

"The Orbs of Creation" is a name given by the humans. The other races have different names for them. The Dwarves know them as the Forgefather's Tools, the Elves call them the First Souls, the Drows refer to them as the Great Conduits, the Drakonians know them as the World Stones, the Orcs and Goblins simply call them the Ultimate Weapons, and lastly the Pixies name them the Elemental Stones.

Each Orb in known history was also protected by a Great Beast, which needed to be slain in order for the Orb to be successfully claimed. Here are the Orbs that have been discovered thus far:

The Pyromancy Orb: Granted the wielder power over fire, even without magic. With the Pyromancy Orb, one could raze cities, or annihilate entire armies. The Pyromancy Orb was originally guarded by the dragon Casimir, on a volcanic island southwest of Sorus. Casimir was slain by Darius Drakeblood, who then proceeded to claim the orb and use it to unite the Sorusian Kingdoms by force, founding the Sorusian Empire. It was eventually lost with the cataclysm of Sorus.

The Geomancy Orb: Granted the wielder power over stone, with the ability to move or destroy entire mountains. The Geomancy Orb was claimed by King Horic Goldmane, who destroyed the giant golem which protected it. With the Orb, he united the Dwarves under one banner, and constructed the sprawling underground cities the Dwarves dwell in today. His son, Faric the Fool, wished to continue his work, but accidentally leveled one of the cities in the process, killing thousands of this own people. In his grief, he constructed a massive tomb filled with traps and magical constructs, and then sealed himself in with the Orb, so that it could never wreck such destruction again.

The Aeromancy Orb: Granted the wielder power of the air, with the ability to generate gusts of wind capable of knocking down buildings. The Aeromancy orb was guarded by massive a griffin known as Windwing, which was slain by Chief Bolag of the Orcs. He then used the Griffin's orb to unite the Orcs under one banner and declare himself High Chief. He then launched an ambition invasion against Dormoor. Alas, it was not to be: shortly after he landed on the mainland, his goblin slave Groshub slit his throat in the night, and ran off with the Orb. Leaderless, the Orcish army was easily defeated by the Dwarves. Groshub himself was never seen again, and the fate of the Orb is unknown.
