Even though she had been the one to throw him, Aria winced as the man hit the wall, accentuating her motion with a quiet, “
Ouch.
” This was quickly forgotten, however, as the chaos in the rest of the building began to reach a dangerous point. She also had to devote energy towards the question shouted at her as well, although there wasn’t really time to do that until they began running out of the building.

Well, I tried to toss him out the window. Apparently my aim is utter shit.
” she shouted back to Vanick as the realization that they weren’t going to make it out that easily made it to her mind. There was also another, rather important realization that she had to make: her stuff was still over by the bar.

With a muttered curse, Aria reached out telekinetically, grabbing her bag and her stick and tossing them up into the air before pulling them across the ceiling - which they bumped across and into several times - and to herself. With her stuff on her, and her bar tab paid, there wasn’t any need to remain in here any longer.

As for how to get out...well, Aria was absolutely sure that she had concocted a wonderful plan. It was simple and brilliant, and would not only get her out but would free up the way out for everyone she was now working with. All she had to do was create a barrier around herself, a dome shape tied to her so that it would move with her, negate gravitational effects on herself, and then blast herself at the door with a burst of force from behind. Everyone in the way would be knocked aside, she would be uninjured, and everyone else would have a path made by her.

It was perfect, and it was exactly what she tried to attempt. She, of course, had to accentuate the forward movement with a "
Wahoo!
" as she cast the third part of the spell.

" Trouble has a habit of finding us at the worst moments, " Gerion agreed, watching with idle interest as the scene broke down into a tavern brawl. One man was lifted off the ground by the magical talent of the drunken woman and thrown across the room, an armoured man beat down his attacker and the mercenary group Edd was sailing with attempted to make their escape from the chaos. The same drunk woman proceeded to use her own plan of escape - namely, through more magic. The paladin couldn't stop a quiet chuckle at the sight.

From his perspective the group - setting aside the drunk woman who seemed to have only just joined them - didn't appear to be more than an eccentric bunch of mercenaries, and most mercenary companies had their fair share of eccentricities. Looking upon it all there didn't really seem to be serious cause for concern on his part, the brawl having not taken a turn for the dangerous, and thus he chose not to involve himself in the fighting in any way. For now, at least.

" Forgive me Edd, I've met many people and experienced many things in my time - looking at them now, I can only see rowdy members of a mercenary company. " He lifted his drink and finished it off with a satisfied 'ahh', eyes drifting back to the superstitious sailor. " But I do take your worries seriously. Would you introduce me to your captain? I don't believe this voyage into the Ashlands is cursed, but I do think that I can help make sure you all return safely. "

At least Vanick’s disappointment could not be as bad as what Griselda did. Sarah nearly got a bottle to the face, Joric shoved someone down, and Aria’s magic did not seem to dissuade pubgoers from the fight.

Meanwhile, the punch into Octavius’ visor did hurt, as it bounced backwards against his nose, and caused him to rear a bit. Nevertheless, his attacker had it worse, obviously, and Octavius’ retaliation worked. Action escalated all around.

“Oh, mama mia! Mama mia!” He would have to forcefully make his way through the melee. He shoved, pauldron-bashed, palm-striked, and push kicked; hopefully, he did not hit the barrier-surrounded woman by accident. If all went well, he would make it out the tavern. Perhaps Annie and Aria would make it, too. The paladin and sailor over yonder, being farther away, may have a harder time, but only time would tell.

Annie sat at the bar drinking her beer when the fight started near by her. Then all a sudden another patron in the bar who was escaping the fighting that pushed Annie towards the two people who was fighting. She was able moved fast as an elf to dodge the punch in the stomach. Then she punched the man who was about to hit her as hard as she could and then she was able to escape the tavern with the others in their group. -Dances-

The Escape

The flash of Aria's barrier, and the effect of several people and objects being knocked aside, was enough to temporarily bring the fight to a halt. And indeed, the way had been temporarily cleared - a long, narrow gap that Vanick and the rest could perhaps be able to walk through.

However, the gap soon began to close, as the fight began to resume. Vanick, Joric, Sarah and the rest began shoving their way through the crowd, heading toward the door. One of the new recruits vanished, struck down by or caught up in who knows what, but there was no stopping to look for him.

Meanwhile, at least four people looked directly at Aria with fearful expressions, before one of them drew a rusty shortsword. "Get the witch!" He shouted, charging toward the mermaid, but none of his companions moved to follow.

Octavius himself would be able to get close to the exit with little difficulty. His foes were hesitant to engage, and those who did try to fight him were thwarted by his armour.

Annie's punch had little effect, barely seeming to glance off the man's jaw, though it did catch him off guard. Her effort to escape the tavern was not easy, but through speed and drawing as little attention to herself as possible, she would be able to make it to the front door without taking too many hits.

The Discussion

Edd looked surprised at Gerion's offer to join, but quickly nodded. "I could. I think I know which tavern he's recruiting at. And I think this place has a back door through the kitchen..." And indeed, at least a couple patrons had already rushed into the kitchen despite the protests of the staff. He rose to his feet, and began heading that way.

If Gerion followed, they would pass through the kitchen to see a red-faced cook brandishing a wooden spoon, alongside two waitresses equipped with other cookware. Gerion might choose to try calm the group or he might choose to ignore them. Either way, they would not attack such an obviously well-armed man, and seemed to only care about their own safety.

The back door exited into an alley way, and from there Edd would head out to the front of the tavern, where a number of frightened or frustrated patrons had already gathered in the streets. A patrol of four guards could be seen running toward them on one end of the street, with two more coming from the other end.

Annie relized her punch on the man had a little effect but it caught him off gaurd and that made her very happy. She knew she had to get out of here. She felt nervous but right now has to be brave. She ran as fast as an elf to go unnoticed as possible to escaped from this tavern as she dodged people so she don't hit them and won't have to fight them. Then she finally was able to the tavern. -Dances-

That’s rude! I don’t even have a tail right now!

Aria’s comment would probably make no sense to anyone that didn’t know she had heard the word “fish” rather than the “witch” that had actually been said. She actually appeared quite indignant about it, though, despite the (currently unknown) fact that she was indeed a fish-based individual.

When the guy started charging with a sword, though, Aria seemed to forget that she was still protected by a barrier that would do more than enough to deflect a rusty sword. Instead of doing anything more sensible, she shouted, “
Hey, that’s rude too!
” before hightailing it towards the exit that she hadn’t made it out of with her magnificent plan.

That is, she tried to, and it took all of a couple second for her to realize that she wasn’t exactly moving. The reason for that was pretty clear: her feet weren’t touching the ground, as she had forgotten to re-establish her connection with the world’s gravitational forces. By the time she realized it, the man with the sword was nearly upon her, and she took the only approach to the apparent danger that anyone in her position would.

Either some part of her remembered that she had the barrier active or she didn’t think about what would have happened next, as she did not refresh her barrier before repeating her move from before. Making another burst of force between her and the incoming sword man, she sent herself catapulting into the nearest surface heading to the outside, whether that be a window or a door. Either way, the force with which she fired herself would be more than sufficient to carry her out through whichever opening she had chosen.

Assuming nothing else stopped her, the crash into the outdoors would knock something into place in her head, and the negation of gravitational force would end up being switched off, dropping her to the ground and sending her rolling for several feet.

In the Alleyway

"Bloody hell!" Edd shouted, his exit from the alleyway interrupted as a dark-haired woman burst through a window, which thankfully for her had already been opened. She did indeed drop back to the ground, and she did indeed roll several feet... which sent her right into the opposite wall of the alley.

"You alright, miss?" Edd asked. Despite his concerned words, he came to a stop and kept his distance.

The Escape

Amidst the brawl and Aria’s magic and complaints, and a wannabe witch hunter, Octavius managed very well, armour withstanding bottles and chairs, and presumably anything else that he may have encountered. He made it towards the exit, not having to deal with maids or cooks armed with utensils, or guards, or drunk mermaids.

Speaking of mermaids, he would be surprised if Aria indeed flung herself forth via her magic! He would place a hand over his brow to watch the flying fish, and then walk on as if nothing happened...

If anything else occurred afterwards, the centurion would go along without much vigour, but would always be ready for fighting. He preferred to be behind the scenes and a bit silly, only to suddenly spring like a tiger, but only if necessary.

The Twins

After getting the clue of Luna sailing with Dwarves, Xavakuun and Caspara would probably not be able to get much more info. Nevertheless, they would probably be preoccupied with their own bickering and chaotic planning most of the time.

They would certainly fight their Company’s foes, Caspara being the aggressive skirmisher, and Xavakuun the headstrong, medium-armoured tank.

Griselda

Presumably, she would remain in her cell until able to re-intro in the adventure! Or, perhaps she would be released, then ordered to remain defensive on the ship. Indeed, it may be better to keep someone like her to defend the ship, but it was up to the captain and commander.
