Gerion listened to the sailor's concerns with rapt attention, his long years of service to the church - within and without Talendria itself - owing him countless hours of experience in listening to the worries, fears and misgivings of all who sought out guidance. His gaze drifted only once to follow Edd's gesture to the group he sailed with, the very same mercenaries raising their ruckus, before returning their steely focus to him.
When the man's tale was laid bare Gerion leaned back in his seat, resting a hand upon the edge of the table as the other scratched at his beard in thought.
"
Your question has a simple, easy answer Edd - no, I don't believe the Aspects have placed any curse upon your voyage,
" He answered after a few moments of quiet, lowering his hand from his chin and shaking his head. "
Curses are born from spite, powerful spite, and a curse born from a god would have sank your expedition long before reaching this port.
"
"
I ask you, sincerely, do you believe the Aspects would be so petty to lay a curse upon your expedition due to a few oddities among your number?
" He smiled warmly, the question clearly not any kind of trick or threat - but a reminder that they followed the Aspects because of what they represent, not from fearing their wrath. "
If you remain unconvinced then show me to your ship, I'll gladly scour it for any signs of a curse - whether by god or mortal alike, should it give you peace of mind.
"
