Supercool, I'll take advantage then.

If I could preface it with an explanation: this isn't so much a monster idea that I think is cool, but more a creature that I kinda worked out should theoretically exist in the Runescape universe, through deductive reasoning and such.
-Anima comprises the soul, is the source of magic, and on a perfect world, only produces non-sentient life.
-Seren indicates that, like death energy, life energy comprises one of the pure forms of magical force
-Dragonkin created the first dragons from giant, mindless, aquatic reptiles in the east - wyrms
-Kami - giant sea monsters composed of godlike anima energy - are a major presence in the Wushanko Isles
-Even on a plane of pure, frenzied magical energy (Runespan), pure magical energies coalesce into (progressively more sophisticated) lifeforms

Well, that's it for reasoning, onto the critter!

Name: Living Esswy*m

Type: Pure anima construct

Era: Pre-1st Age Gielinor

Appearance: Scaly and serpentine, coursing with complex magical energies, and glimmering with an ethereal aura. Or, to be less flowery, kind of like a cross between a desert wyrm and an essling.

Size: Enormous, of similar scale to the QBD

Abilities: Flight, pan-dimensionality, and inherent mastery of magic. Essentially, it has the power potential of a tier 2 god (but in practice never uses it).

Diet: Feeds directly on anima from its current plane

Psychology: It is generally a gentle beast, and little concerned with objectives beyond its own survival. With such power, it scarcely has to worry about surviving.

Environment: This creature lives on the far reaches of the same chaotic, magical plane that was used to carve out the Runespan. Assuming this is sort of a layer, or sub-dimension to Gielinor, it has also ventured into the perfect world, but not since before the 1st Age

Technology: The esswyrm, in its natural state, is bestial and lacks sentience. However, its capability for intelligence is potentially limitless, and when exposed to sapient beings, can progress in knowledge and sophistication indefinitely.

Background: The living esswyrm is a unique phenomenon of an anima-perfect world, representing the upper limit of sophistication for non-sentient, anima-generating creatures. It is a pure expression of life magic, the rarest and most potentially powerful form of magical energy, and for this reason can use all magics freely.

The living esswyrm formerly existed on Gielinor, in the present-day Wushankos, where it served as progenitor for many inferior, bestial, but still immensely powerful offspring, the wyrm race. However, it ultimately transcended into Gielinor's pure magical realm, and carved its own niche among the chaotic life energies far beyond the reach of any mortal mage.

Very good. Honestly, I don’t know anything about RuneScape, but the related lore helps develop your submission. This dragon-like creature seems to be, say, non-organic? It’s magical internal properties definitely make it a most difficult thing to defeat. Presumably, it can cast magic? Perhaps the chaos niche can be utilised as a weapon against its enemies.

Well, that’s all I have for thoughts, thanks for posting! Feel welcome to post as many ideas as you’d like, and to anyone else who may be reading, feel free to post your thoughts and such.

And I might as well post a bio of mine, to provide an example of a bio instead of a race:

Name: Spirry / Spiritus

Type: Otherworldly demon

Era: Any except futuristic

Appearance: Resembles a tall bipedal dragon-demon. Has blues eyes, a pair of snow-white horns curving forwards and then backwards from his temples, bat-like wings, curved claws at the hands and feet, and a tail nine feet long. He has a wingspan of twenty feet. Although muscular especially at the limbs, he has a slim waist and a lean torso, so isn’t particularly large for his height.

He does not have an exterior; all scales and skin were ripped off long ago, leaving behind a fleshy, wet, red surface that exposes his nervous system, ribcage, bones, tendons, veins, arteries and muscles. He also does not have lips, cheeks or eyelids; all these features also ripped off, so his teeth, eyeballs and gums are always visible. Without eyelids, he is always staring relentlessly.

His exposed exterior means that his heart can be heard beating, he is constantly bleeding everywhere, and his movement makes squishy noises. Blood is constantly dripping down his frame, eyes and wings, especially when he moves. If he stands around too long in one spot, his blood will eventually pool. How his body constantly produces blood so quickly is a mystery, but his bodily tissue appears to exhibit extremely fast cellular division.

In life, he had black scales, which looked dark grey in direct light.

Size: Nine feet tall, four hundred pounds, 20-foot wingspan.

Abilities: Can fly, swim and jump like an animal. Despite his size, he is extremely quick. His body can regenerate, but, oddly enough, never regenerates beyond his skinned form. He is also a sorcerer, and able to perform necromancy, pyromancy, shapeshifting, bilocation, telepathy, mindreading, demonic possession, and even psychokinesis. He is also capable of controlling flesh and metal, able to use his thoughts to construct monsters or machines using bodies and mechanical parts. He has a peculiar feature that allows him to transfer his mentality into other people, able to influence people to do his wishes, but some have been able to resist his mind control. He is undead.

Diet: Spirry doesn’t eat due to his undead state, but in life would be a carnivore.

Psychology: Sadomasochistic, evil

Traits: Patient, talkative, poetic, long-legged

Other: Spirry has been undead since childhood, however, seems to have continued aging, or perhaps grew his body using his own strange flesh-magic that can manipulate living and dead bodies.

Environment: Any, but prefers warmer climates, as coldness would slow down his metabolism

Technology: Although he can create mechanical monsters, he does not seem capable of going beyond a medieval world.

Clothing: None

Weapons: Claws, horns, teeth

Armour: None

Equipment: None

Features: Horns, wings, regenerating body

Domestication: Can domesticate his own creations.

Background: An otherworldly bipedal dragon-demon, who used to be a child slave accompanying his masters. Despite being so young, about the equivalent of a five-year-old boy, Spirry already possessed an uncanny gift in sorcery: he could perform necromancy, pyromancy, shapeshifting, bilocation, telepathy, mindreading, demonic possession, and even psychokinesis.

Despite such a tender age, he developed a sadomasochistic mentality, which somehow made him a greater sorcerer. Often forgetting key aspects of his abilities and magic, he decided to make a means with which to siphon or transfer his abilities into something, so that he could record and experiment his experiences.

The child Spirry made a tome, ripping off his own skin to make the hardcover. He then wrote down his notes and experiences with his own blood in his book. He soon bled to death, but having transferred his supernatural powers into the tome, he was able to resurrect himself. Ever since, he lives on as a skinned undead demon, unable to truly die or truly be alive.

Surprising his masters with his new appearance, Spirry, still a slave and too young to realise what he put himself into, was used by his masters to experiment various black magic on. Oddly enough, Spirry cannot use his own magic on himself to regenerate fully, and he remains absent of an exterior. Spirry is immortal exactly as the time of his death: skinned and bleeding. Although he constantly feels extreme pain, he does not suffer by it, and instead, enjoys feeling agony.

Born nameless and of unknown parents, he was nicknamed “Spiritus” (Latin for *spirit” due to his spirited nature) by his masters. This was abbreviated to Spirry by him. Shortly after renaming himself, he became self-aware. Realising that he is immortal in his undeath, and possessing powerful magic, Spirry utilised all his supernatural abilities to kill his masters. In a fit of ecstasy, he commits genocide against his own race. He now remains as the last member of his species, possibly even killing his own parents.

As mentioned earlier, although an undead child, he continued to grow into an adult, possibly using his magic to grant himself a mature body, or perhaps he used the body parts of those he killed to construct himself a larger and stronger body, or manifested himself into another body formed over his own.

Spirry continued writing down his experiences into his tome for many decades, experimenting with his newfound magic and creating the Enaedonaia, fleshy monstrosities, and strange machines that grow on their own. He calls his entire creation “The Enigma* for he is unable to comprehend it wholly, and seems to have somehow done something that made this Enigma grow and expand on its own automatically. It is possible that other beings were involved.

Fearing Spirry when he was around the equivalent of a young man, the Seven Princes of Hell, with their armies of demons, overwhelm and destroy Spirry’s machines and fleshy creations, stealing Spirry’s tome with the intent of using his own powers against him. However, Spirry’s own magic cannot harm him in any way, nor heal him fully. The Seven Princes of Hell immobilize Spirry, cast him out of hell, and trap him in a void of eternal blackness.

Ever since, Spirry journeys as a spirit to various dimensions and realms, trying to find a way to stay out of the void forever. Absent for so long from his experiments, most of his creations eventually forget him, and they serve their own purpose like a cancer. Ever since, he has journeyed into the realm of Gielinor, but also has found a way into Earth, other hells, and other dimensions, suggesting he has found a way to escape the void he is trapped in, but he always ends up back in it one way or another.

Spirry has a simple quest: enjoy suffering in himself and watching it in others while experimenting with as much sorcery as possible. He seems to only broaden his knowledge of magic to create more kinds of pain to feel and inflict. He is undoubtedly an indomitable individual!

Spirry does have his drawbacks, though. He is a child at heart, and despite his vast knowledge of sorcery, remains childish and immature, and is easily excited but slow to anger. He cannot do anything beyond sorcery, hand-to-hand combat, and experiencing suffering, meaning he cannot learn anything else. He would be unable to learn swordsmanship, for example, and probably wouldn’t be able to figure out how to use a remote controller for a TV. Thus, he can be conquered by means he has never seen before. He seems unable to react quickly from sudden surprises, and apparently is bad at lying. Since his days in Gielinor, he has become more honest.

Destiny: Spirry’s bilocation somehow went to the next level, becoming trilocation: the ability to appear in not two, but three different places at once. This phenomenon is extremely difficult to comprehend, and Spirry himself is unaware of it. His trilocation has unfolded into a permanent state, meaning that his own body and soul have duplicated themselves, unfolding into three different Spirrys locked in a trinity.

Spirry's existence as a trinity means that he will be extremely difficult to truly kill, for each piece of the trinity is always in a different realm, and his state of undeath and rapid regeneration makes everything even harder. Unless a powerful being can traverse the realms and kill all three Spirrys, defeating his trinity, then Spirry will continue to create suffering for others and himself forever. The complete death of the trinity would finally put Spirry’s morbidly troubled soul to rest.

Name: Spinarid, slang name Spiborg

Type: Mammalian/anthropod

Era: All

Appearance: The appearance of the spinarid varies vastly dependant on which stage of its life cycle it is in, similar to that of a moth or butterfly. At the start of its life cycle the spinarid resembles a large-sized house spider, with a lighter colouration typical of female spiders (whether or not spinarids have two genders or are ******* is as of yet unclear, though evidence points towards a single-gender species.) There are some small differences between a newly birthed spinarid and house spider, most noticeably that the spinarid will have comparatively small legs for its size, hinting at its infancy.

As it grows its legs begin to lengthen to a more proportional size, though the cephalothorax remains inconsistently large in comparison to its leg span. Their pedipalps become extremely long and rigid, looking like pincers or fangs. The older they grow the darker they become, though tend to remain a dark brown hew rather than descending into black.

When the spinarid is in the second stage of its life cycle it resembles an adult human being. There as of yet seems to be no physical cues to make one aware of the difference between a human and a second-stage spinarid, or 'spiborg' as it is often referred to in this form. Though spiborgs tend to be somewhat short to accommodate for the relatively small birthing chamber they come from, there is no specific height that they will always be and may in fact change height over time.

As spiborgs are often discovered to be so after the fact, and most go through their entire life cycle without discovery, much of their physiology is still not fully understood. Spiborgs are often considered to favour human forms roughly in the twenties or thirties, though reported sightings of younger and older spiborgs are also known to have occurred.
