Yes, they do, you're quite attentive. They have some variation, including a type that has a body consisting of many layers of muscles and flesh, but I figured it was already long enough as it was.
I'll see if I can post other monsters tomorrow or so, maybe the extra posts will help the thread grow. And thanks for keeping interest! We'll see how well the thread goes.
(Oo, this was a long one!)
Name: Daareral
Type: Otherworldly, mixed, hybrid, arthropod
Era: Ancient, Medieval
Appearance: Somewhat reminiscent of similar creatures that can be found in the Dungeons and Dragons, Warcraft, Dark Souls, and Elder Scrolls series, the Daareral are immense spider-, praying mantis-, beetle-like creatures. They consist of many types and kinds, some of which look like entirely different species. As their bodily structure is quite complicated, their description is quite long.
The Daareral have a beetle’s abdomen for a lower body, and then a protrusion at the front that is a torso, similar to a prothorax to that of a praying mantis but half the size of the abdomen. They have eight legs at the abdomen and six arms with elbows at the prothorax.
Their limbs are powerful and large, with the legs ending as hoof-like bony protrusions. The legs have knees, which are usually kept bent; if a Daareral was to outstretch his or her legs, the individual would appear extremely tall. They have six insect’s claws that act as fingers of each hand.
They have a large head shaped like that of a praying mantis, wasp, bee, or dragonfly, however, the immense eyeballs are not on the sides of the head but near the upper middle. The head is bulky, somewhat cube-shaped, and the neck is almost non-existent. The head is at the top of the protrusive torso of course, aligned so that the top of the head faces up, and the face forward. The mouth is wide, jaws capable of opening and closing, with hinged fangs always visible even when the mouth is closed, and a pair of huge pincers on the outside.
