-Summary (Kinda)-

I know the intro was somewhat vague, so I'll explain a bit more here. This roleplay is going to take place inside a facility that is designed to take humans and make them into deadly military tools through the use of supernatural abilities granted by genetic modification of the subject. Each test subject is subjected to the same strain of modification, but it has different effects on different individuals. Subjects are encouraged to push the limits of their new-found abilities – although some of the doctors disagree with this policy – in order to gather relevant data.

When it comes to the origin of subjects, there is only one rule: they need to be willing. It has been found that the modifications do not take properly when attempted on an unwilling individual, almost always leading to immediate death. Once the modifications have taken hold, a change in opinion does not cause harm, as has been evidenced by numerous escape attempts and the attempted rebellion that left one subject dead and five trapped on the sealed-off lower levels of the base. Apart from that, subjects can come from any background, and it is preferred that they do so all possible types of subject can be researched.

Facility Description

The facility is located on a minor, uninhabited island out in the middle of nowhere. Only the people in charge of the project know the location, everyone else being put into a sleep state during their transportation there. A massive mansion sits above the facility, and is the only part that is above ground. The executives live inside said mansion, and while it conceals the entrance to the facility it does not have a great deal of further use. Under the mansion is the testing facility, where the subjects live and all tests take place. It is massive, spreading out under the entire island and consisting of multiple levels.

The facility itself consists of ten levels, the bottom two being currently being sealed off due to the actions of six rebellious subjects. The top level is home to the quarters of the military, technical, and medical staff – essentially everyone who is not an executive or a subject. It also houses the entrance screening chambers and the security monitoring stations. The entryways to Level 1 from both above and below are guarded by security checkpoints, and nobody without the correct authorization is allowed through them. The typical authorization is in the form of a card key and a four-digit code.

Levels 2-4 are primarily the testing areas. They are where the modifications take place and also where the subjects are evaluated beforehand. There are multiple medical labs dedicated to routine examinations to make sure the subjects are healthy and to monitor the effect the modifications are having on their bodies. The testing area also includes multiple reinforced chambers that are designed for testing of the capabilities subjects possess. Each chamber is outfitted with a nearly indestructible interior as well as a system to disable the subject inside should things go bad in any number of ways.

Levels 5-8 are the living areas. This involves personal rooms, the dining area, recreation/fitness areas, and anything else that might fit into this category. All personal rooms are located on level 5 along with the dining area. Level 6 is the primarily electronic portion of the living area, although it is extremely restricted in terms of what can be accessed. Gaming and the like is common, but only against each other and the computer as there is no internet access allowed. Funnily enough, the computer is played against less than human opponents, even with the severe lack of variation, because only one person has ever been able to beat it in any game and it is largely considered unfair. Levels 7-8 hold things like a gym, swimming pool, and most importantly a specialized arena-type area where subjects are allowed to engage in personal combat. It is, of course, closely monitored and entirely contained, but friendly - and sometimes not-so-friendly, depending on the circumstances of the challenge - matches are encouraged by the project executives.

Levels 9 and 10 were, until a short time ago, where subjects who were being rebellious or violent were sent to help them cool down and also to keep a closer eye on them. Unlike the rest of the facility, the lowest levels had an active military presence, although most of those assigned were killed in the events that caused the levels to be sealed off. The blast doors to level 9 remain sealed with a pair of soldiers standing watch, although since they don’t do much to keep subjects away - in fact, they are more amiable than most of the soldiers in the facility - it seems all they are there for is to keep watch.

Bio Format (You can do non-bios as well, I’m totally fine with those. Also, remove everything in parentheses, as per usual)

Name:
Position within facility: (i.e. subject, doctor, guard, etc.)
Number: (If applicable. Nothing above 80 or below 20, please, and all the numbers in the intro are off-limits)
Age:
Gender:

Personality: (If you want. I don’t like writing one, but I know some people do)

Appearance: (don** bother with clothing if you’re a subject; everyone wears the same black jumpsuit with their number stitched onto it somewhere)

Mutation Effect: (Only applicable if subject. Can be referred to as “power”, if you want to call it that. I don’t care, just don’t go over the top. Also, if you’re a newer subject, you’re not going to be incredibly proficient with it yet. Even most older ones aren’t experts, with a few exceptions.)

Area of Expertise: (If not a subject. Refers to whether you have military training, a degree in human psycology, etc. Many different types of people are needed in a project like this.)

History: (You can be an older subject if you want, or you can have just arrived. For reference, the newest group of subjects are 73-78. Your history before that is entirely up to you, although you will need a decent reason why you*** here regardless of when you arrived. Non-subjects have a bit more flexibility, although nobody who is not good in their field would be allowed.)

Other: (You know, the section everyone leaves blank but that every bio format has regardless)

- People of Note -

(I'll add more here when I either get around to it or I need to)

Aniet Neussen - Project Director. She does not frequent the facility, and so any time that she shows up in the lower levels it is clear that something important is going on. The little that those in the facility have seen of her has made it clear that she takes her job very seriously but does seem to have genuine care for the subject that are under her control.

Alexei Juradis - Head of security, although not the commander of the armed forces in the facility. He spends nearly all of his time in the first level, working on new technology to ensure that everything runs smoothly. He is incredibly intelligent and has designed nearly all of the security and monitoring devices that are in use at the facility as well as the testing chambers that are used to examine the abilities of the subjects.

Michael Talbot - Although he spends the most amount of time in the facility out of any of the executives, he is also the least liked. His official role seems to be to command the soldiers, but nobody has ever actually confirmed this. He rarely ever speaks to the subjects, and when he does his tone indicates that he considers himself superior to them. He tends to look down on those in the facility, seeing them as a means to an end rather than fellow humans.

Subject Thirty-Seven - All official files are sealed with the tightest clearance when it comes to Thirty-Seven, and few people in the facility want to talk about him. Although the most mild-mannered individual ever to become a subject, he was also the most unnerving, speaking the thoughts of others without them ever having said a word and knowing things that should be impossible to know. Talbot has, on multiple occasions, said that he was a "mistake", and there are some subjects who seem to agree with this. Thirty-Seven is currently presumed dead in the aftermath of the rebellion.
