((Sorry about that, had some plans today that I wasn't sure how active I would be and didn't want you frozen. xD))

Anais darted back into her room, shutting the door firmly behind her. Her golden eyes went to the cat who lounged on the couch nearby, stretched out as far as his chubby body would allow. He looked up at her sleepily, chirping a tiny meow in greeting. Anais passed him, heading straight for her bedroom. The room was fairly unpacked, her clothes in the closet and the small dresser, her bed made, and various personal belongings placed in various places on flat surfaces or the walls in the room around her. Flopping down on the bed face first, she growled into the soft covers. "You are an absolute idiot," she muttered, rolling onto her side and closing her eyes. ~Telling strangers your life story... that will get you nowhere. Just learn how to control yourself, learn how to figure out what the hell you can do with these powers of yours, then get out of here. You're almost done. What do you need friends for?~

Anais' eyes opened, the light from the window nearly blinding her. For four years, she had managed to go unnoticed at the university, save a few incidents where she was no more than a nameless face that went along with whatever had happened. Now, her name, face, and part of her story was known to a younger man down the hallway who was practically her exact opposite in practically every way. Sighing softly, Anais lifted herself from the bed and strode back out to the living room. On the coffee table laid her schedule for the semester, which found itself in her hands within a matter of seconds. Scanning the paper, she glanced at the clock. Not even close to dinner time.

"Guess I'll make sure I know my way around," she muttered sarcastically. "Not like four years here wouldn't have helped." Gathering her keys, Anais left her room once more, heading down the stairs of the building to go towards the quad.

((Haha, well thank you for being considerate!))

Christian laid under a bench, dripping with sweat and his body screaming for a rest. He closed his eyes momentarily and let the music blaring from his headphones drown out the world. This was the one place where he was still normal; could he alter his body and make the weight effortless...probably, but he wanted to hold onto the single shred of his old life that he could.

The long arms reached upwards and grabbed hold of the grips of the bar, rolling it back and forth; mentally preparing himself for his last set..~One, Two, Three.~ He grunted as he lifted the weight off the rack and held it in his hands for a moment, taking a few staggered breaths before the bar lowered to his chest and subsequently exploded back up. This process repeated twice more before he racked the bar again; cleaned the bench and grabbed his things, heading back up towards the room.

Still feeling a bit energetic, he made a decision ~Why not take the stairs..~ He thought, turning away from the elevator and heading up the long flight of stairs that led from below the res hall...all the way to the top.

About midway up, that's when he saw the tall girl striding down the stairs. He could feel his face slightly redden as their paths neared.

Anais had made it nearly all the way to the ground floor when she spotted Christian from a stair-length away. As she rounded the landing, she felt her steps falter slightly when she made eye contact. Raising her hand that wasn't resting on the railing, she waved her fingers slightly.

Her mind went back to only a short while ago when she had left the room less than graciously, leaving Christian behind, more than likely, uncertain of what he had said or done to cause such a reaction. In truth, Anais, in her ways, was a loner. She refused to get close to anyone, for those closest to her had severed themselves from her association in years past. How cliche.

As the two came closer on the stairwell, Anais paused. "Hey, sorry about earlier," she murmured. "I had something to take care of that suddenly needed my attention."

Christian pulled his headphones out of his ears, draping them over his neck. "Oh uh...yeah, no; it's no problem," He stuttered, "I went and worked out anyway." He said, tapping his foot lightly on the ground. He shifted his weight back and forth, looking at the girl's vibrant eyes.

"Did...you get whatever it was taken care of?" He asked, flashing a half smile quickly. He pulled up his sleeves so they rested about mid forearm, some of his black ink tattoos peeking out from under the red fabric.

Anais, having stopped between two steps, took a step down to even her footing. She nodded, noting what seemed to be discomfort from Christian in his body language. She hadn't even noticed his headphones at first, and grimaced internally. "Yeah, it got taken care of," Anais said quietly, her eyes dropping from his and down to his tattoos.

"Nice tattoos," she commented, briefly smiling. The smile faded quickly as she angled herself to peek down the stairs. She could see the landing below which led to the ground floor lobby of the residence hall, but no other students could be seen. Strange. I wonder where everyone else is, Anais pondered to herself before looking back up at Christian. "How many do you have?"

Christian smiled softly, "Um; I kind of lost count. Quite a few, I absolutely love them. I try to make them all have meaning." He said. The one sticking out on his right forearm said Take No Days Off in a script font; it had been his motto since his freshman year of high school, when he was a tall lanky kid that made the varsity football team.

"If I had to guess, I'd probably say twenty or so. It's kind of addicting to get them in my opinion." He chuckled.

Anais' eyes were still on the tattoo on his right arm, now able to read the script that crossed his skin. "Take No Days Off", it said, and she exhaled silently in a chuckle. At his admission of twenty tattoos and counting, she nodded her head in appreciation. "I have fewer, but I guess it's mostly because they're larger," she murmured, shrugging her shoulders.

She glanced down to her right hand, raising it slightly. "This one," Anais said as she gestured to the moon-and-star design on her ring finger, "was my first." She then turned her head and lifted her hair slightly to show the strange symbol behind her ear. "And my second." She dropped her hair and grinned slightly. "The rest I don't like to show people in stairwells, since doing so causes problems in the social circles of many," she stated dryly.

"However, I have about twelve. Here," she pointed to her chest underneath the lower area of her sternum, "my left thigh, both of my sides, and the rest are on my back." She turned her shoulders slightly, showing the top of an intricate design that resembled an abstract tribal design over her left shoulder near the top of her shoulder blade. Turning back to normal stance, Anais shrugged again. "Nothing super special."

Thea Pickard was standing on her tip-toes, struggling to blue-tack the top corners of a female superhero poster to the wall. Hopping up and down thrice, she eventually managed, and sighed in satisfaction.

For the past two years she had been in one of the four-bed apartments, but now that she was in her third year Thea had felt she'd outgrown shared dorms and had opted for a single. Having a place to truly call her own, she was putting her mark all over the room. There was pink and blue bunting hanging from the ceiling, an absurd collection of pillows on the bed, and a particularly flowery sheet for the quilt. The posters she had chosen displayed her casual knowledge of geek culture, and clashed somewhat with the floral designs of pretty much everything else she had chosen. A pile of books was already forming in an easy-to-see area of the room, so that anyone who came in would know that she was a big reader.

No longer living in a group, Thea knew that she would have to make new friends, most likely those on her corridor. Believing herself to be a domestic goddess, she had decided that making cupcakes to give to her fellow apartment-dwellers would be the best way to their hearts- who didn't like cupcakes? The preparation had taken its time, and Thea had been forced to change, her hair a stressy, frazzled mess after half a dozen near-disasters in the baking process. But they were complete, and she had near enough tamed her hair, so all was well.

However, then the next disaster struck: Thea realised that there was no communal area to place these cupcakes. Everyone had individual living spaces, the recreation hall would be full of students that she'd likely never see again after they'd snatched her food, and she didn't think the laundry room was an appealing place to linger and offer snacks. So instead she had put the finishing touches on her room, propped her door open with a shoe, and waited patiently in the hopes someone would come by.

((Sorry, I had to work D: didn't mean to freeze you))

Christian studied the girl's body artwork. "Those are awesome." He said, smiling. "I have some things reminding me of home; my back is really just a big tribute to home and what not." He added.

He pulled a shaker bottle out of his bag and took a swig of the brown chocolate protein shake, clicking the lid and sliding it back into his bag. "I'm on my way to take a shower right now, um...want to maybe grab food later?" He asked, as he took a step up one of the stairs.

((It's okay, I worked today too. xD I just assume that, unlike me, people have lives so it doesn't bother me too much!))

Anais nodded as answer to his question, offering a grin in return. "Sure, why not?" she answered, shrugging lightheartedly. As he angled his body toward the upper floors, she got the hint and began to take a few steps down. "I'll see you later. About, say... six-thirty?" she asked, pulling her phone out of her back pocket to briefly check the time.

Once Christian had answered, Anais waved a brief goodbye and started down the stairs. Trying not to move too quickly, so as not to appear eager to leave the younger man's presence, she soon reached the ground floor corridor and eventually, left the building. Heading across the grass nearby, she headed toward the academic buildings, schedule folded up in her back pocket.
