The image of a curious goblin, hunched over and petite looking, came walking up *lowly to the stone. Dionysius looked at it with dead seriousness in his face as the goblin touched the stone and disappeared in a beam of light.

“What happened to it?” Keith asked.

Without taking his eyes of the stone, Dionysius replied, “He became a god. His name was Bandos.”

Then, the image of a bird in flight came from above. It seemed to become slightly tired, so it deemed the stone a good resting place, but upon landing on it, it too disappeared in a beam of light.

“Armadyl...” Ash mumbled, almost in a whisper, her eyes and mouth wide open.
Soon enough, an image of a man came into the scene, walking casually towards the stone. He was dressed in blue. It did*’t take the team very long to guess that he was Saradomin. He too, touched the stone and disappeared in a beam of light. After that, the images faded away, leaving the team in an empty room once again. The next door unlocked itself.

“Big rock make gods?” Thok asked, disbelieving.

“Yes, Thok,” Dionysius replied, “More than you can imagine.”

The team could not focus properly on combat as they faced the next chain of bosses. They were too preoccupied with trying to tie some loose ends with the lore.

“But that can’t be right,” Ash started to argue, “They could not have attained instant Godhood from the stone itself. Even Zamorak needed to use the staff of Armadyl, and I have personally touched the stone before and have not become anything better than a better and stronger fighter, and even that was just temporary!”

“Ah, but remember,” Dionysius countered, “They were the first to touch the stone. Nobody can say that it has an infinite supply of energy. Zamorak touched it close to the end of the Second Age, while you touched it merely a year or two ago.”
“It also explains why the God Wars were fought amongst Saradomin, Bandos, Armadyl and Zamorak, if they were all stonetouchers, but none of them dared to face Zaros, who was a direct creation of Jas,” Keith concluded.

“Then at that point,” Kuradal started again, “Guthix woke and put an end to it, starting the Fourth Age.”

Rushing through the bosses of the warped floors, and killing Kal’Ger the Warmonger in a mere ninety seconds, the team approached what seemed to be their last Flashback Room. They started the scene almost immediately. This time, they were in a dark cave, illuminated by hundreds of blue light creatures which floated over a gigantic chasm. Fin, as with everyone else, recognised this area immediately – it was the cave under Lumbridge swamp.

Fin looked across the chasm so see Guthix, in his humble green cloak, giving some instructions to the attentive Juna the Serpent. He then turned around to face the team as he walked towards the edge of the rock just before the chasm. Fin could see that his eyes were teary. “This must be the beginning of the Fourth Age,” Fin whispered. Then suddenly, without any sort of warning, Guthix dived headfirst into the chasm, and then the scene ended.

“So that’s where Guthix went to reside,” Ash continued, “But from what we know, the Mahjarrat got hold of the Stone of Jas.”

“Yes,” Fin replied, “but Lucien was killed and the Dragonkin reclaimed it.”
They walked slowly to the door; they were certain the end was near. The floor’s destabilisation was becoming more apparent. Nobody wanted to admit it, but the process seemed to be accelerating.

“Well, wherever it is,” Kuradel started after a while, “I just hope it’s in the right hands.”

As they opened the door, everyone, including Thok, jumped back in utter shock. Their mouths were wide open. Dionysius was the first to move a muscle as he pointed with a shaking finger at the massive object in front of them, "...There it is...the Stone...of Jas!”

Part 5 – Turning Tides

The stone itself was magnificent; gigantic but intricately designed to the millimetre. It emitted an unseen power, quite similar to that of the floor. Floating in the centre of the room, the sight of it prevented the team from being able to take notice of other key features in the room.

Fin looked in one corner to see a corpse in an advance state of decomposition. “Look over there!” he exclaimed. Upon seeing the corpse, Kuradal asked, “Who is that?”

The corpse had decayed beyond recognition. “It’s been there for about two to three weeks at most,” Ash remarked.

“I disagree,” Dionysius replied, “We cannot be certain with regards to the preservation property of these floors. They could extend a week long process to a year.” Walking towards the corpse, he continued, “Besides, I have reason to believe...”

Dionysius reached under the corpse and pulled out a journal. On its cover read ‘Journal of Bilrach’. “Well,” Dionysius started, “I’m sure this speaks for itself.”
Dionysius opened the journal. Most of its pages were torn off; only the last few remained. He began to read them aloud:

Year 169 of the Fifth Age,

I have failed you, Lord Zamorak. I am aware that I am approaching the end, but it is becoming far more evident that the end is not you. Since a long time ago, I embarked on this quest to find The Rift; to free you from your banishment, and for a time, I believed myself on the right track as the taint of your evil increased with depth.

But these floors...they contain no trace of you at all, my lord. I am losing any will to press-on.

Moia has become increasingly powerful with my teaching, but at her core, she is still a Mahjarrat and is more than likely to turn on me before we reach the end. This may be even more so now that I will only be slowing her down.

But it does not matter. If I have wasted an eternity trying to find you, but then realise I was not even close, I welcome my death with open arms.

Zamorak forgive me!

**body had noticed that there was someone else in the room, which until now had been observing them in silence. Keith looked up to see an old man, bearded and dressed in thin, white robes. He was guarding what seemed to be a door, locked with a colour of gold and the shape of a shield. It was a lock **body had seen before.

“You!” Thok exclaimed, looking up as well, “You are that bright man!”

The strange entity observed him for a moment, and then replied, “You must not proceed. If you do, you will die.” He pointed at the Gold Shield door.

“Don’t try that on Thok again,” Thok grumbled, but Ash quickly intervened.
“What’s behind that door?” she asked.

“She is,* the entity replied.

Thinking for a moment, Ash asked, “Moia?” The entity nodded his head.
The floor started to rumble. Vibrations could be felt in the ground and in the walls.

“We don’t have much time,” The Divine Skinweaver commented hastily.

It was then that the entity decided to say more than just a few words. "That Mahjarrat is collapsing this place with her presence,” he started, “and your presence only quickens the process."

The team looked at him as he continued, “These floors are meant for neither Mortals nor Mahjarrat alike. You must leave immediately.”

“But even if we leave now, Moia will collapse the floor,” Kuradal rebuked.
The old man looked down for a moment before he replied, “Yes, you are right, but what can one do? She is a frustrated soul who will attack and even kill anyone who tries to reason with her.”

“Alright,” Fin replied, “We’ll take the risk.”

Keith interrupted him immediately saying, “Are you crazy? You want to see someone who will try to kill us instead of leaving this place?”

“She has been down here longer than any of us,” Fin replied, “If anyone can provide us with information about the end, it is her.”

“Bilrach stated that it is not Zamorak,” Ash continued, “but it is definitely as powerful if not more. I think understanding that is worth the risk.” The entity remained silent.

“Alright, fine,” Keith grumbled, “but there’s a slight problem. The door is locked.”
The team looked puzzled at the Gold Shield door. No key they had ever seen before matched this lock. This was when Thok stepped in saying, “Ohhh. That gold wibbly thing? Thok has key right here!” Immediately, Thok pulled out the unmistakable Gold Shield key from his trophy bag. Even the strange entity did not seem to expect this, as he jumped back in amazement.

“This was that dirty thing on first floor,” Thok continued, “So Thok took at and used his time cleaning it on the second, and then Thok got this!” He seemed proud of his achievement.

“So that’s what the cleaning cloths were for,” Kuradal remarked, chuckling.

As Thok used the key to unlock the door, the strange entity yelled, “Wait!”
The team turned to him in surprise. His voice had not gone louder than a whisper till then. He then calmed down and it returned to its usual soft tone.

“You have to be prepared for the worst,” the entity continued, “I want all of you to touch the stone.”

“Sure!” Keith replied, “I could do with some extra strength.”

“Extra strength?” Thok asked, surprised, “Is that even possible for Thok?”

Standing themselves around the Stone of Jas, everyone put a hand on the stone together. The surge of energy was tremendous, and as they charged up, the room around them began to darken. Images of everyday objects seemed to fly around them in circles as the stone continued to channel energy through them. A pestle and mortar over here, a saw and hammer over there...

Unexpectedly, Korasi’s Sword came flying by, followed by Char’s pitch can and many more items from quests.

Then eight wizards, two of four colours: Red, Blue, Green and Grey, walked in from the sides and corners and started to perform what seemed like a ritual, which started a power beam that came from below them, setting the stone alight. The intricate design on it glowed in bright yellow. Objects continuously went flying by. It was like a hurricane tore through every part of Runescape at once; every skill, every quest and every daunting task that they had gone through. Then, the wizards raised their arms, and with a muffled scream, collapsed on their knees in full synchronisation, plunging the room into a blaze of light.

A few seconds later, the light faded off, and the room was back to normal. But now, they felt more powerful than ever. Looking at each other, the team realised that their eyes and hands were glowing – each with a different colour. “This redefines power,” Kuradal remarked, looking at her own hands.

“One more thing,” the entity started, “For the safety of the floor, I have no choice but to re-lock this door once you enter. There’s no turning back.” He said this in a grim voice, as if he did not expect them to survive the coming encounter.

“Alright, we understand.” Fin replied. Taking a deep breath, the full team charged through the door and into the next room.

It was almost completely dark, made only even more so as the entity closed the door behind them and quickly locked it. The tiles below the adventurers did not even light up this time. The room was in nothing but pitch black with the exception of their glowing eyes and hands.

Then suddenly, Moia revealed herself as light came piercing out of her body. She stood in the centre of the room, magnificent but unpredictable.

A distinctly feminine but powerfully booming voice echoed throughout the room, “So you’ve let Guthix lock you in here with me too...how unfortunate for you.”

“That was Guthix?” Ash exclaimed in shock.

“Why, yes,” Moia replied in a hateful voice, “He was here since the beginning of the Fourth Age; and that imbecile Bilrach came digging for Zamorak. What a fool! That idiot couldn’t even get the god right. It’s fortunate I killed him where he stood.”

“We’re here to take you to the surface, Moia,” Kuradal pleaded, “We do not want to fight.”

“No!* Moia screamed, “Over five hundred years I had spent looking for this place, then only recently thought I had a new purpose.”

She toned down a bit now, “...and for once, I believed that I was more than just a tool.”

But the anger returned, and her voice regained its boom, “But look where that has brought me! Imprisoned in this room by a ‘god’ who refused to fight? I came down here looking for power, but all I found were books! I have no use for those.”

“You don’t have to fight,” Fin replied, keeping his hand on his bow, “You can come with us to the surface. You can start over...”

“If only that were true,” Moia replied in a soft, dangerous voice.

Suddenly, she lifted her arms in the air, and as she did, the entire room lit up and the tiles below them activated with a blazing blue. “Now would be a good time to get us out of here, Thok!” *ionysius yelled in a muffled voice. Thok kept rubbing the gem over and over, but it seemed dead. "Rock not working!” he replied.

Rising up into the air above them, with a powerful elemental cloud surrounding her, she screamed, “My father rejected me! My mother abandoned me! My only purpose is to fight!”

The tiles began to go berserk with the energy coming from the powerful Moia. The walls glowed brighter still. A strong gust of wind knocked everyone down on their stomachs, and prevented them from getting up. Great tremors broke the room into two sides, and a bottomless chasm lined the middle.

“I am Moia. PREPARE TO DIE!”
