Dionysius encountered a room with some sort of strange, sentient creature known as the Enigmatic Hoardstalker standing near the corner. There were three small chambers in the other corners, with three minor doors leading into them. “Ah, the riddle room,” he sighed. He personally loved riddles. Walking up to the creature, he got this riddle, “Though I am light, I go back and forth faster than the rest.”

“What?” he asked. He had not encountered that riddle before, and he did*’t even know where to begin. Picking the lock of the nearby door, he entered the small room and searched the chest. He found a blue vial. Searching deeper, he found three more vials of different colours: green, yellow and violet. Dionysius was perplexed.
“These don’t belong here,” he thought to himself.

He started to think about the riddle. “Though I am light...” he wondered. He could only think of two things *hat ‘light’ meant. One was light in the context of weight, and the other was the light that came from the sun and burning torches. But it was the second part that perplexed him, “Back and forth...what goes back and forth?”

Then he opened the question to the floor as he yelled, “Guy*, what goes back and forth?”

Suddenly, an excited voice came from the base, “Thok knows the answer! It Thok’s fists!”

“No, no! Not again!” the Enigmatic Hoardstalker pleaded upon hearing him.

After a moment of awkward silence, Fin said, “The only things I can think of that go back and forth are the waves on the beach.

“Waves?” Dionysius thought, “Back and forth?” There was obviously some knowledge requirement in this riddle which they had not yet learned of. Then, the voice showed up again, whispering into his ear, “Frequency.” Dionysius jumped back. That voice followed them up the beam.

“Err guys...” he started, “What is ‘Frequensee’?”

“I have not heard that word before,” Keith replied, as he finished the maze room in the nick of time.

“Neither have I,” Ash added, “By the way, Goco gated.”

“I guess I’ll have to wing it,” Dionysius mumbled.

Approaching the creature, Dionysius took the blue vial and showed it to him. He immediately knew it was the wrong when the creature lifted its arm to punch him, but just before it could, Dionysius took the next object he could get his hands on – the violet vial. Upon showing it to the creature, the Enigmatic Hoardstalker calmed down and congratulated him. A click was heard, and the doors were unlocked.

“Hey Dionysius,” Kuradal called, “Could you gate that spot for a while? I could use a mage here.”

“SGT,” Fin said, hearing Kuradal. As if on cue, Kuradal teleported to the Group Gatestone, picked it up and teleported off again, saying***** Ghosts.*

*What?” Dionysius chuckled, “The mighty Kuradal needs magical help with a ghost room?” He spoke slightly louder on purpose.

*It’s...slightly different,” Kuradal snapped, “You’ll know it when you see it.”

“Oh fine,” Dionysius mumbled, gating his path. He then teleported to the Group Gatestone and his chuckling stopped short soon enough. It did look like a ghost room, with a spirit jumping from monster to monster, but these monsters were not ghosts. Instead, they were forgotten warriors wearing full primal armour.

Kuradal and Dionysius exchanged a quick glance. With everything that was going on, they couldn’t say they were too surprised.

“Fifteen primal warriors in one room...” Dionysius started, disbelieving.

“Well, we better get started,” Kuradal replied, but Dionysius was already fighting the first.

Keith finally completed his path which ended in a dead end with no key in it. “DENK,” he declared, “But there seems to be a cleaning cloth in there.” Keith ran in and grabbed the cloth, to which Thok said “Thanks!” Keith then teleported to the Group Gatestone and helped with the ‘ghosts’.

Fin finished the path which ended with a dead end holding a cleaning cloth and the crimson corner key. He took both, then teleported to his gate to unlock and open the door. Inside, he could see a man who seemed like a Mercenary Leader, but much more powerful. Setting another gate, Fin teleported to the Group Gatestone saying “BGT”, and Kuradal at once dropped it for him. Fin took the Group Gatestone and teleported to his gate, calling, “Keith, I need your ranged here.” Keith teleported to the Group Gatestone once again and the duo immediately started taking down the Mercenary Leader with their Hexhunter bows. This one was more powerful than the ones above, for it could summon forgotten warriors wearing Primal, rangers in Sagittarian and mages in Celestial robes.

“You’ve got to be kidding me...” Fin remarked.

Ash finally completed the runecrafting puzzle which led to a dead end with no key but a cleaning cloth. Running in and grabbing it, she said, “There seems to be a cleaning cloth in every DENK.” The runecrafting room had another door which she opened to reveal a room which was overridden with vines and flowers. Usually, she was an expert at this since the colour sequence was fixed at Blue to Purple to Pink to Yellow and back to Blue. However, as she predicted the next phase and swung her hatchet at one of the small flowers, it did not die; injuring her instead. She realised that the flowers were off synchronisation, and that they could not be predicted, for they changed colours randomly. The interval at which they changed was also random.

“I hope I’m not the only one getting strange rooms,” she grumbled, as she waited impatiently at one flower as it took its time to synchronise.

Dionysius and Kuradal brought down the last warrior, and then Kuradal continued her path while Dionysius teleported back to his. Another cleaning cloth was obtained as Kuradal reached a dead end. Just as she teleported to the Group Gatestone, Fin and Keith finished off the Mercenary leader and ran outside to let the mercenaries teleport away on their own.

Dionysius continued through the riddle room which split into three paths. Two of them immediately led to dead ends with more cleaning cloths, while the last led to a room with five pressure pads and five human-like statues. “Emotes gated,” Dionysius called as he dropped his gatestone and teleported to the group.

Ash finally uprooted the flower which led to another dead end with a cleaning cloth. Thok was feeling happier than ever, yet he still did not mention what the cleaning cloths were for. Ash teleported and joined the other four members who were still waiting outside the mercenary room. Something was wrong, for the mercenaries did not leave like they usually did.

Exchanging glances and faces of disbelief, the five members charged into the room and attacked the mercenaries. The full power of the five defeated their opponents in a relatively short time, and they opened the door opposite to attain another cloth.
“MGT Emo,” Fin commanded, and it was done. After Dionysius, the other four followed by teleporting to the Group Gatestone. Each of them stood on a pad and copied the emotion performed by their respective statues. With that done, the final door unlocked. From experience, Fin knew that behind it was the boss.

“Alright, Thok. You can come through the portal now. We’ve reached the boss.”

Thok, fuelled with new energy, jumped excitedly into the portal saying, “Thok is going in first!”

“Wait,” Fin called, “We have no idea what type of boss could be behind that door.”

But just as Thok’s feet reached the ground, he charged straight through the door into the next chamber. A mere few seconds later, a loud scream came from the boss room, somewhere along the lines of a little girl setting her eyes upon a spider.

The team rushed in to find Thok shaking in the centre of the room. A ferret was running about. "Help!” cried Thok in a desperate voice. As normal procedure, Kuradal, Ash, Keith and Dionysius stood in the four corners of the room, and Fin went after the ferret. Soon enough he caught it as well as the key around its neck.

By now, Thok was standing, but still looked at Fin in fear as he held the mighty Ferret-of-Doom in his hands.

“Come on now, Thok,” Fin gestured, advancing towards him with the ferret, “It’s just a-”
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Thok tried to escape the room, but Fin quickly caught him as he started to move and thrust the ferret into Thok’s arms, to which he reacted by breathing fast and closing his eyes. Fin did not need to know why the other four had their faces to the corners. Soon enough, Thok’s eyes opened again to gaze upon the furry creature in his arms. He started to calm down.

“This not so bad...” Thok remarked, shaking slightly.

“That’s right,” Fin replied, “It’s totally harmless and cute.”

Thok gave it a pat then released it, letting it run into a hole in the wall. “Haha! Thok was scared of the puny creature the whole time? Haha! Hahahahaha!”

With Thok still laughing away, the team advanced through the door to reveal a seemingly empty room. Five pressure pads were scattered throughout the room:
One on the north side, one on the south, one on the east and one on the west. The fifth was right at the centre. Next to each of these pads *ere stone pedestals, intricately designed from top to bottom. Lying on top of each pedestal was a page.

Dionysius went from pedestal to pedestal, examining the pages.

“It seems as though all these pages came from the same book,” he started, “and by the looks of it, this book was written during the First Age, if not before that.” Dionysius saw details in the pages that were missing from existing lore; details that were somewhat shocking.

“That’s good and all, but how to we proceed?” Ash asked. It was a good question. The room did seem like the end of the floor, for there seemed to be no ceiling, like in the previous floor. The pages themselves did not have many words on them; just one sentence at most.

“Well, standing on the pads would be a good start,” Fin replied.

Soon, all five pads were occupied by the adventurers, with Fin in the centre. Thok stood by the door with the smuggler who decided not to be left alone. Each of them took a look at the page on their pedestal, trying to understand what it required of them.

Ash read her page aloud, “The universe, an angry ball of flame, exploded.” She pretended to be angry to add some drama. The others smiled.

Keith’s read, “Jas was born, and the cosmos cheered.” He too put his hands in the air like a professional cheerleader.

Kuradal went, “He created the planes that danced with harmony,” and then she did a dance. They were enjoying this little play.

Dionysius continued, “He created Seren and Zaros, nodding with approval.” He seemed to nod his head as well, but it was because he was appreciating the content.

Fin had a surprised look on his face after hearing Dionysius, and then he read his line, “Then they had a son named Guthix.” Dionysius looked at him in shock. If this were true, it would change the way they saw the plane of Gielnor.

Immediately after Fin finished his line, the ground below his feet seemed to warp, forming a circle, and with almost no warning, another power beam shot up from the ground, taking Fin along with it to the infinite space above.

Nobody was nervous this time, they all rushed at once into the beam as shouts and giggles went “My turn!” and “I’m next!”

Only seconds later, only Thok and the smuggler were left standing in the room. They noticed that along with the beam, a door on the opposite end of the room opened to reveal a ladder, most probably leading back to the surface. The smuggler was looking at it for some time. Thok noticed this and read his thoughts, so he said, “Go, my fellow warrior. You have already shown might as great as Thok’s.”

With that, Thok stepped into the beam and left the smuggler to his own devices. Taking a deep breath, the smuggler walked towards the ladder, and made his way to the surface.

As if on cue, the soft, whispering voice returned, reciting words that seemed to get lost in the endless space, “Energy level three”.

Part 4 – Past, Present, Future

Fin landed gracefully on the ground as the beam set him down. The room was mostly empty, like on the first level, but he was immediately aware of another entity that resided in the room, floating somewhat. It was definitely not a human-like figure, but it seemed just as surprised to see him as he was to see it.
Walking a few steps closer, he recognised her as the Divine Skinweaver, at least twenty-six floors out of place. Before they could say a word, the other four came through the beam together and landed on their bellies. They too, saw her.

“What are you doing here?” Fin asked.

“I detected an instability coming from deep down here,” she replied, “so I got here as soon as I could.”

Very soon after, Thok came through the beam and landed right at her feet. Upon recognising her, he stood up within a second and just stared dumbly.

“Why hello, Thok bloodrager!” the skinweaver said in an excited tone. She seemed much more energetic now. Thok was still blank for a second before replying,

“You..er..you pretty?”

“We’ll have a lot of time to catch up later,” Ash interrupted. Turning to the Divine Skinweaver, she asked, “Do you know what’s down here?”

“Unfortunately not,* she replied, “but it is powerful, and it is becoming more unstable by the second.”

As if on cue, the room started to vibrate. The floor and walls blacked completely, and the ceiling threatened to collapse. “This way!” the Divine Skinweaver shouted, heading through the only doorway out of the room. The team followed her hurriedly, including Thok, who by now had snapped out of his slight trance.

The ceiling then collapsed, narrowly missing Thok, who leaped through the doorway into the next room. “Ow!” he yelled, “My leg!” Fortunately, the Divine Skinweaver did what she did best, and Thok was up again in no time at all.

“Thanks, Pretty Lass!” Thok said, grinning. “You’re very welcome, Thok bloodrager,” she replied, “Now let me continue. These floors are very close to a source of power with a magnitude so great, that it’s causing the floor to become unstable. This floor especially, is losing its stability. I dare say we’re very close to the power source now. But...”

“But what...?* Keith asked, nervously.

“We don’t have much time to get there. “This floor could go completely unstable at any minute, but most probably in the next hour.”

“...and what happens what it goes completely unstable?” Kuradal asked.

“I do not know for sure,” she replied, “But I wouldn’t want to be around when it does.”

“Gotcha,” Fin said, “So what do we do in this room?”

The room was empty with the exception of five pressure pads on the ground. The only other door located opposite them was locked. Fin did*’t really need an answer.
The five adventurers stepped on the pads as Thok and the Divine Skinweaver watched. Just as the last of the five made their stand on the pad, a bright flash of white light overwhelmed them. The next thing they knew, the five were standing in empty space. There were no stars, no celestial bodies; nothing but pitch black and deafening silence. Fin couldn’t even see his hand stretched out in front of him. But he knew he wasn’t alone, for someone spoke.

“Well, now what?” The voice belonged to Kuradal. Fin knew at once that this wasn’t a dream of his own conjuration, but it was a scene that all five of them were present to observe...but what was it?

“Look over there!” Ash exclaimed while pointing to no avail. It was far too dark to see hear, what more where she was pointing, but they knew what she meant. Quite far out in the distance, almost invisible to the ***** eye, was a speck of white light. It would have been completely unnoticeable if it wasn’t for the otherwise complete darkness surrounding them.

Then a voice came...it was a familiar voice. Fin had heard it through the levels, and he was used to it now. He welcomed it, for it was less of a threat and more of a source of guidance. The voice seemed to inhale, and then it spoke, “At first, there was nothing...”

It continued, “Then, the Great Explosion occurred.” It was no longer a whisper, but a loud, crystal clear voice. As it spoke, the white speck in the distance exploded into a barrage of white light which reached them in mere seconds. The next thing they knew, they were surrounded by close-to blinding white light. Now they couldn’t see each other for the exact opposite reason.

After a sufficient pause, the voice went even deeper, and almost into a whisper, “...and Jas...was born.” Fin looked up through the piercing white light to see a huge, silhouette quite far away. It had a figure unlike any creature he had seen before, but before he could make it out and see it clearer, everything collapsed into darkness once again. Light slowly returned to the surroundings, and Fin could see that he was back in the room with everyone else. He heard a click as the door unlocked.

Thok and the Divine Skinweaver were watching them like nothing happened. “Did you see that?” Fin asked. The other four adventurers knew what he was talking about, but Thok and the Divine Skinweaver looked puzzled. “See what, adventurer?” the Divine Skinweaver inquired.

“How long were we gone?” Ash asked, perplexed and quite convinced that the two were playing a prank on them. “Gone?” Thok asked, “Adventurer, are you OK?”
