“Look it that,” he said pointing at a viperfish; it was slender and ferocious looking, with huge transparent teeth and a tentacle like appendage on it’s head which held a light on the end. The five month training period for this kind of diving had definitely paid off, he thought. He remembered when he started out, how he’d flail around in a desperate attempt to find some footing in the training tanks. But it all came natural now. He was almost a fish in his own right. The viperfish caught itself an odd looking shrimp, and swam away in a hurry.
Anthony laughed, “What if I turn my lights out?” he questioned himself. “20,000 Feet: Hadal Zone reached.” It was almost time for him to go back up, the suit couldn’t handle much more pressure. But, he just had to see what it’d be like without lights first. Before he could act however, Jacob began to speak.
“Anthony, Cut your weights, it’s time to resurface.” Over both his legs were entirely inexpensive and unnecessary weights which covered from the ankle to the knee, their only purpose was to help him sink much quicker. He un-latched one of the weights, and found he wasn’t sinking, or rising in the water, just floating where he was. Now would be perfect. Flipping the switch caused his monitor screen to die, along with all other light on his diving suit. He gasped in awe as he starred in disbelief at the sea of green, blue, and red lights, all emitted from the creatures which dwelled in this preposterous region of the world.
