Lol, well I had the opposite opinion, Chuk. When I wrote it I was worried that nobody would catch the point - but apparently I tried too hard to make it obvious.

And English, I didn't expect to place at all (as I'm not that interested in the Novelists Guild, no offense) - so no worries there for me, lol. xD

I have just realized while shifting through your stories, that you are demented. (not really, but they're pretty horrific) While they are nice, I am not a big fan of the editing you put them through. But what I really don't get is why the kitty killed the kids, that made no freaking sense. That was a horrible story, not to mention the descriptions weren't as good as in your other stories.

Aprostidy:

The kitty story was derived from a nightmare I had when I was young, so yes it is naturally kind of demented. I apologize if it disturbed you.

I usually steer clear of gore unless it's necessary to get my point across. For instance, in "The Future" and "The Happiness Principle", if I was to neglect the darker side of those stories, the purpose and plot would be meaninglessly hidden in idealistic nonesense.

I know you can't make it lovey dovey, and I certainly didn't do it in my newest horror story. (Creature of the Night) What I mean is senseless serial killing. Of course, there is a humanoid thing that eats people alive, but people are trying to stop it, and there's a twisted, but good plot in it. All your stories are awsome, it's just that one that seemed a bit cruel and pointless lol.

I decided to post an old story that I wrote a few years ago - you may notice the difference in writing ability between it and my other stories.

I wanted to post it because it is kind of in-theme with this thread, considering the whole "imagination" thing.

So here it is, my most recent post, and a very not-recent story. =]

-=[Creativity :P ending]=-

It seems unreasonable to be so cliche as to start a story off by telling you the situation I was in. So I will start off at a slower portion and build up to the interesting parts in a more mundane manner. Fun fun.

So, there I was. Rolling along highway S, my family takes a vacation every June.
We were on one of those long stretches of flat open road that makes you feel like you passed the Kansas state boundaries hours ago.

Except we were actually heading away from Kansas, southeast into a hill country that is rather beautiful come spring time. Of course you're not interested in the terrain, how the tree's seemed to perfectly outline the road at a seemingly equal distance on both sides, or how the sun was dead ahead, shining its mid-day rays down on the not so permeable road.

So I'll move on to my thoughts, which were little if any, as I had been dazed, sleeping. So many hours in the car makes you feel like you just got out of the hospital from a head wound. Of course, I might have. I didn't remember. Never mind about the thoughts.

"Man, cops must really love this road, everybody seems to be speeding.", those were my first words since we had gotten into the car. I think it startled people. "Meh, the roads too flat, they can't hide up here in this light." That was my sister, we both looked at the speedometer, but it didn't so much matter, according to her.

Murphy is slowly climbing the ranks of my list of horrible law makers. Between the flashing

lights behind us, and that highly irritating siren, I couldn't keep my mind on one track.

But thankfully my Dad could, he was driving. We pulled over, and I heard the cops opening their doors, though they didn't immediately get out and come to greet us.

I noticed three or four other cars had been pulled over, it was almost like a fleet of cop cars had dropped on us from nowhere. Maybe they had invested in cloaking devices? Or Helicopter drop sites. Wait...what? Never mind.

We sat for what felt like hours, waiting for the cops to approach the car and go through their routine. Eventually people in other cars started getting out, so I followed suit.

The cops didn't seem to mind, which struck me as unusual. I walked over to the cop that had pulled us over so long ago. "Sir, I was wondering what's taking so long? We've been here for an unusually long time". My voice was more unsteady than I would have liked.

The cop in the drivers seat of the car ahead of me looked up. He seemed surprised, as if he was just now noticing that I was there. "Oh, hello. Sir we usually ask people to stay in their cars, but we have a lot of work to do here, with so many people pulled over at once. It's unprecedented, but we'll have it sorted out soon. Until then, do as you like."

I nodded and turned around, having noticed a growing group of people standing to one side of the highway, I headed towards them.

As I approached I noticed one boy, about my age, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. Seeming to limp to one side, he growled and jumped at a white haired older man, who didn't even flinch.

I was appalled, the boys expression was savage. But the older man laughed and the younger boy stopped before he hit him, and joined in the laughing, which had spread throughout the group.
