The sea is a miraculous sight if you've never seen it before. It is a wide expanse of shimmering blue, with waves rolling across its surface. When viewing the ocean, one cannot see across it to the land on the other side. Next to the ocean, one cannot help but feel small. When that someone is small already, such as a dwarf, the feeling is much more overwhelming.

Kalda was overwhelmed as she looked over the sea. She, Kaisen, and Saren had entered Port Sarim, and they looked over its harbor for a sea-worthy vessel on which they could hitch a ride.

"Come on," Kaisen said as he pulled Kalda away from the water. "You'll have plenty of time to look at it when we find a boat and a captain willing to brave the danger of Solus Dellagar." He took Kalda with him and Saren into a nearby pub, where the captains were said to hang out when they were not at sea.

The pub was full of boisterous men, drinking rum and having a jolly old time. The faces of Saren, Kaisen, and Kalda, however, were anything but. With every denial, excuse, and fearful sob story about Solus Dellagar by every captain to whom they spoke, their hopes of reaching Karamja and the TzHaar region diminished.

"This is pointless," Saren spat. He tossed some gold coins on the bar counter. "This will buy you a new glass."

Saren took an empty beer glass and smashed it against a wooden beam, shattering it into a thousand pieces. The crashing of the mug to the beam and all the pieces to the floor caught the attention of everyone in the room.

"Listen up!" Saren shouted bitterly to the entire pub. Kaisen did not like the tone in which he said it. It was a demanding, threatening tone. Kaisen did not particularly want to be involved in a fight that day. But no one moved, and everyone listened to the Temple Knight. "We need a captain who is actually man enough to take us to Karamja. Is there anyone here that is not afraid of Solus Dellagar? Is there anyone here that can get us across the ocean to Karamja?"

The pub was silent. No one twitched. No one spoke up. Saren was just about to insult the manhood of everyone in there, but then a voice came from the back. "I'll do it."

A man stood up. He was an old man, with graying hair, who was dressed in a blue captain's suit. "I'm Captain Barnaby, and I don't fear death."

"We weren't asking you that, just of Solus Dellagar," Kaisen replied.

Captain Barnaby shrugged. "They are one in the same."

"Solus is a powerful mage," he continued, "and he uses the highest level spells imagineable. I've heard his magical attacks can sink ships in a single hit."

"And you're still ready to go into his dangerous waters?" Kaisen asked.

"Yes. I was asked several days ago to deliver food to the banana plantation on Karamja. By taking you, I will fulfill my mission and collect fares from you for the ride."

"You're going to charge us?" Kalda asked.

"Of course," replied Captain Barnaby. "A captain has to make money somehow."

Saren was about to object, but Kaisen silenced him. "We have the gold," he whispered. "We need to get to the TzHaar, and I don't mind giving a little gold to ensure we get there."

Saren agreed grudgingly, and they set the hour of departure for the next morning.

When the sun rose over the waters, Kaisen, Kalda, and Saren arrived at Mudskipper Point, where Captain Barnaby's ship was tethered. "Come on, mateys!" called Barnaby from the deck. "We need to get going!"

The three travelers boarded the boat, The Eagle, and Barnaby shoved off. The ship's sail caught a favorable wind, and The Eagle was off to the south, making great time.

A day passed, and the ship was in the middle of the sea, approaching Karamja. The morning mist hung low over the ship, and the horizon was obscured by the watery veil.

"I don't like the looks of this," Kaisen said ominously.

"Aye!" shouted Barnaby. "This be the sign of the Domhar. They will strike soon."

"I'll be ready," Kaisen replied, warming the dragon egg with a quick burst of fire.

Suddenly, a shadow appeared ahead. It was a man, standing on top of the sea. He was covered in a red cloak that covered his face in shadows. It was a Zamorakan.

"Over here!" Kalda called, pointing off the starboard. Another stood there.

"And here!" Saren shouted from the port side, and another stranger.

"Aye, another off the stern!" Barnaby shouted from the crow's nest, pointing behind the ship.

Kaisen looked around in desperation. This complicated matters. The Zamorakan Domhar had them surrounded.

Cackling laughter boomed around the ship. The Zamorakan mages were grinning maliciously, and the one in front of the ship called out, "Let's sink this one."

The other mages shouted their approval, and the four of the Domhar blasted a surge of water over the side of The Eagle. The torrent of water poured into the bowels of the ship through the hatch on the deck.

"She'll sink if they keep putting more water in!" Barnaby called out to Kaisen in panic. Kaisen looked out into the sea.

"This'll teach you!" Kaisen yelled bitterly, firing a fire bolt at the man in front of the boat. He was incinerated in the blast, leaving only a charred red cloak floating the waves.

Kaisen turned his attention to the mages on the sides of the ship. With two well-aimed bolts, they too shared the fate of the first. Before the fourth had time to run, Kaisen blasted him as well, and the threat was eliminated.

"Too easy," Kaisen scoffed.

"Oh dear," came a sinister voice from behind him. "It seems as though I will have to find more henchmen." Kaisen turned to see the new stranger, and it was Solus Dellagar himself that stood on the ship, facing him.

Kaisen's face was fear-stricken. The mages had fallen easily, but their leader, a much stronger foe, stood in his midst. Solus shook his head. "I don't like people that inconvenience me. My mages are always getting killed by others, but I always find replacements. Any man that kills my hand-picked mages deserves death."

Kaisen stood defiantly before him, but his legs were weak. His strength was being drained by the dragon egg, which had chosen another inopportune time to feel cold. Kaisen wanted to warm it, but he could not risk showing it to Solus.

Another spasm. Kaisen lost all his rationality, and he blasted the egg with a fire bolt. He looked back up into Solus' eyes, but this time they were twinkling in delight.

"You!" he screamed and pointed at him. "The holder of the silver dragon egg. Who would have thought? To think that Lord Agaben told me to be on the lookout for you, and I never imagined they would be in my area of the world. Well, I will be handsomely rewarded when I bring it to him."

Kaisen tensed. He knew an attack was coming. Solus walked over to him. Solus' breath was rank as he whispered, "This could have been avoided, but you shouldn't fight it now. I cannot be killed by a Saradominist."

Kaisen smirked. "Then too bad I'm not one." As Solus' eyes widened in confusion, a wind blast emerged from Kaisen's hand and caught Solus in the ribcage. The blast hurled the demonic man away from Kaisen, pinning him to the mast. When the blast died away, Solus fell to the ground, unmoving.

Then, however, a blue necklace around his neck glowed with a black light, and Solus rose back to his feet. "Impressive," he said through gritted teeth, "but those spells are still too weak to defeat me."

Solus' hand glowed with red light. A high level spell, a fire wave, was powering up. "Goodbye, mage," he said as the energy approached completion.

Suddenly, Solus' ears perked up, and he dodged to the left, just in time to avoid being wrapped up and cut to pieces by Saren's whip. "Okay, then, you first," Solus said.

"No, me!" shouted Kaisen as he fired an earth bolt at Solus. Solus dodged easily.

"Have it your way."

But Solus did not fire, for he was distracted by yet another person in the fray. Kalda came down with a black warhammer, punching a hole in the deck but could not hit Solus.

"STOP!" shouted Solus in anger at the three-on-one odds. The sky darkened in his rage, and a storm churned the waters beneath the boat. Rain began to pour down, and lightning crackled across the sky. In this tempest, Solus turned, his eyes dark. The blue amulet was glowing, pulsing with power. The fire wave finally shot out, directly at Kaisen.

In instinct, Kaisen threw up a magical shield, but it was not strong enough. It protected him from the fire, but the force still plowed right through him, sending him spiraling overboard into the wild sea.
