Elyssa paused to stare at the hunter. She noticed his predicament and debated staying to help him or to return to Alexandre, surely leaving the hunter to his death. Elyssa stepped forward and grabbed his bow off the ground and looked it over.

The humans and elves had a tentative alliance against the vampires but there was still a level of distrust among them. She worked with humans in the Rebellion but she was a fool to pretend to not notice the sneers and remarks made about her. Most of those coming from her Battalion leader, Alexandre. The man that she was working so hard to save would never have cast a second glance at her if she was in his position.

Elyssa turned her gaze to the forest, in the direction of the battlefield. She knew that only a few more meters away was the river that she climbed a tree to cross. And from there it was about a 10 minute walk to saving a man who maybe didn't deserve to be saved. She could feel the weight of the hunters eyes on her, probably wondering if she was crazy and what she would do to him.

Elyssa sighed.
"No, you won't be able to use it. Not like that."
She set the bow down and then reached up and grabbed the spike between her hands. She put one foot up against the tree and shoved with all her might, pulling the spike free. Elyssa's effort caused her to fall hard onto the ground, laughing slightly.
"Well Elyssa, That was graceful."
The laughter was odd at this time. There was a war raging nearby and the animals of the forest were clearly in distress.

Elyssa stood and dusted off her pants before looking at the hunter.
"I can heal that if you want."
She knew what she had just revealed. Healers were few and far between in this world. It was very rare to have any abilities at all. In most cases they were kidnapped and held hostage, mostly by the vampires. Elyssa didn't care. She liked helping people and so be it whatever happened to her.
There isn't one.

After Annie and the rest of their group was a able to clear the way for the rest of the army. Now they had to get back to them. She was still very scared about the zombies and the other enemies they went fought against. She couldn’t believe her powers are getting stronger and stronger.

They finally got back to Vyras and company and told them it was clear. She was very excited to kill these vampires and be free at last and see her father and her family. She is ready for anything.

Vyras:

A seering blast of energy from an energy cannon scared the undead and the gargoyles away. Perhaps things were going better than Vyras anticipated. Now that the dragon was away (Although the dragon did nearly crash into Vyras and the prisoners when it frantically tried to escape), escape was more likely than ever. Few people have been inside Castle Gern, and lived. Vyras, as far as he can remember, had been in the castle twice. Once in his youth.

Annie and her group made it back to Vyras panting and out of breath. Haegar handed the old man the crumbling diary, and told him about it's contents. Vyras was excited by the news. A wry smile appeared on his face, he looked at Haegar happily. "If Clan Gern has enemies other than us, perhaps they'd join up with us. Perhaps they are werewolves" he joked with Haegar. He needed to focus on escaping "Come on, everyone. Those of you who can fight, draw your swords and prepare for one," he told them.

"Those of you who are too frail, or young to wield swords, stay by me!" he concluded

The ex-prisoners made their way into the hole in the tower wall. Down they went to the first floor, To the kitchen, where Vyras had blasted a hole in the wall leading to the cliffs below. Right here was where things got tricky. Even with the dragon and his rider gone for now, there were still undead drugal, and gargoyles flying around the twilit landscape. A terrifying screech rent the air -- The screech of wyverns, flying around, screeches of resistance fighters, both human and elven were discernable.

Vyras surmised that this was where things needed to be done perfectly. What Vyras needed was a good explosion. He waded into his pack and brought out a crappy mana potion that he brewed. Vyras was not as good at herbalism as non-mages would expect, but he knew how to make basic potions-- Except Vyras' potions always came out worse than everyone elses-- Was it his method? As far as he could tell, no,

but that was not in itself unusual, since people who create works of artistry tend to be biased toward their own work. Perhaps he missed certain things, but this potion would restore a tiny amount of mana. He popped the cork on the glass vial and downed the foul-smelling, noxious liquid. It tasted like herbal mush mixed with a healthy dose of vomit, but it would got the job done.

Vyras focused his mana on a single blast of a fireball, and then let it go. The result was a very large explosion that covered the prisoners with rock dust, and caked their skin with limestone dust.

(( Everyone! Here is where we make our escape. It has been a while since Vyras mentioned his little plan on getting everyone out, so I will go over it one more time. We need to pretend to be wounded vampires. That is what the vampiric armor and weapons are for, manipulating perceptions of the vampires into thinking that the ex prisoners are cowardly vampires, so limping and faking an injury is a must. which means self-mutilation I'd suggest researching where you want to injure your character, but I will tell you right now, that stabbing your character in the thigh with a knife is a fairly easy way for your character to lose a lot of blood, which is why I suggest researching a bit on your free time on where you want to mutilate your character. You could literally just do what Vyras is about to do, as well, that's cool))
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ordinarily, Vyras was against self-mutilation, but the stakes were life an death. He took a knife from the kitchen, and ran the blade across the palm of his hand, applying pressure until he drew blood, which poured on the floor. Vyras would seek a healer later, but faking an injury meant doing drastic things.

Annie:

Vyras, who's palm was bloodied from slashing his palms, grabbed his cloth from his pack, and wiped the blood off the handle before he handed the knife to Annie. He looked at her sternly and said.

" This is the only way I can think of sneaking out of the castle with everything swarming overhead, young one. Remember always: Other's perception of you is your greatest asset, You can manipulate other's perceptions of you easily, much as I do with this walking stick. With my walking stick, most peasants think I am a harmless old man, until they realize I am far from it in combat. If they perceive you as a threat, they will treat you as a threat, if they perceive you as harmless, they may turn their back to you, allowing you to strike. Unchivalrous? Dirty? Dishonorable? Perhaps, but then again, so are they. The resistance hasn't survived for 500 years by being chivalrous to vampires. Neither have I survived 89 years in this fetid shithole of a country by being chivalrous to vampires."

Perhaps Annie listened to Vyras, but his words were not meant for just Annie. He said these words loudly, with a sense of pride that only an elder possesses. Everyone of the prisoners listened to the old man intently. Some with nods of approval, others, not so much.

"The opposite of perception is also true, if you treat others with honesty and respect, they may follow you of their own volition. The Resistance has always welcomed those with nowhere to go with respect and honesty. If you perform favors, they may grow to like and respect you, if you rescue those in need, people may choose to follow you of their own volition. By manipulating the perceptions of our vampire enemies above, we will escape, but to do that, we're going to have to mutilate ourselves. Anyone hate blood?" Vyras asked, after his lecture had ended.

Take the knife and slice open some skin. You may need to do a little research online for what is a place you can cut

Your character without severing a vital artery. Vyras for example, sliced the palm of his hand fairly deeply, will he bleed out, probably not, but Vyras' plan requires some people to wound themselves. If you are feeling lazy, which I am sure many of your fellow Rper's are, you can simply do as Vyras did. Just your friendly neighborhood gay boy! =)

Ellyssa Sahrawian:

The screams of agony were all she needed to know that she removed the spike in the wrong way. What she needed to do was sanitize the wound with alcohol before attempting to remove the spike, but even more than that, she needed to hammer the spike out gently to nudge it out, and the bandage the hand, else she risked major nerve damage, and unbelievable agony

There are few things worse for a hand than simply yanking a spike out of the center of a victim's palm. Many nerve endings exist in the hand, and now a good many were permanently damaged. When the hunter said he'd never wield a bow again. He really meant it. He was deep in the woods, so sanitizing the wound was next to impossible, as it would simply get dirty again. When Ellyssa yanked the metal spike out of the hunter's palm, he screamed in agony, and as a result, the animals scattered. Blood squirted out of his hand as if it were a hose. Healing was possible, but healing the nerve endings as damaged as this poor human required more mana and concentration than Ellyssa currently had. A bummer since he revealed his blood rage. This was no ordinary human.

The full moon was overhead., his face was contorting, and his features were appearing more wolf-like than human, yet he maintained human form, as the moon went behind the clouds once more. Tears streamed down his face as he regained control over the pain. He looked at her with hatred in his eyes. His face reverted back to human shape as he growled:

" Yes, heal me, and heal me well, or I will sell you to the vampires. Tingus Gern in particular, I hope you know how to perform the sex-change spell on him, else he'll lock you in his tower!"

Uh oh, you seem to have pissed off the werewolf, better heal him as good as you can. He could definitely overpower you, even though he has the use of one hand.

Annie listened what Vyras was telling her and saw him cut his hand. She really didn’t understanding what’s was really going on. Then he gave her the knife to do them same. It made her very nervous about cutting herself.

She was shaking with fear as she held the knife. She said in a nervous voice,”I understand why we have to do this.” She took a big breath and slashing her palms but not to deep. She winced in pain. Then ready to hand the knife to someone else to cut themself.

Lithia

In contrast to the others in the kitchen, Lithia enjoyed pain. Pain was a reminder that in spite of what she had lost, she was still alive. Possibly nuts, but still among the living, With childish glee, she took out her dagger, and jerked the blade across the palm of her hand. while humming elvish lullabies. The euphoric surge of glorious pain rushed up her spine. drops of rich crimson trickled to the ground relatively quickly. She took up her other dagger and stabbed herself shallowly in the right rib, and once in the right forearm. Beautiful droplets of crimson fell to the ground.

Plip. Plop. Plip. Plop. Plip

She watched as the blood dropped wondering which vampire she would get to carve up next. She didn't dare say it, but she secretly wished she could stay in Castle Gern to rend vampiric flesh with her serrated daggers, but there was always the next vampire idiotic enough to cross her path... instead she counted the drops of red, and waited for the others to cut themselves up.

Brimblemir:

Lacking a dagger of his own, he took a knife from the kitchen. He watched Lithia cut herself. it was very disturbing to watch his sister take pleasure in the act of self-mutilation, much less go as far as stabbing herself in the rib. No matter though. Lithia had a minor understanding of healing magic. She could use her mana reserves to keep the wound from worsening.

Brimblemir took the kitchen knife, and stabbed left calf muscles in several places, he also sliced the palm of his right hand, and the top of the left forearm. Brimblemir was not going to try any fancy moves with self-mutilation. He wanted to get out of this castle, go back to the elf camp, and drink a fine wine-- the whole bottle. He was going to need it to be able to sleep tonight.
