The room is lightly built, with simple furniture around. A large four posted bed in the corner, with a small crude dresser and a mirror nearby. The room is lit with candles that surrounds the room, and a large lantern that hanged in the middle of the room. The room looked quite empty, until Nathan saw a small figure curled up in the blankets. The figure looked more of a cat, than a human sleeping with the blanket that cover it. Nathan looked over to Alden and is returned with a slight nod. He walked into the room and towards the bed. He looked at the small figure and tried to peak and saw how she looked like. Very carefully he raised the blanket but insisted of seeing a little girl, he sees two pillows.
“Alden, is this a joke?” asked Nathan, puzzled. Alden looked at him for a second, a blank facial expression and moved over to Nathan. Alden looked at the pillows for a moment then pulled off the blanket from the bed. He started looking around the room, until the door slammed shut. “That sneaky little....” Alden said, under his breath. Fury that is burning from Alden could be felt and with a large cry he kicked in the door.
Nathan ran out of the room and looked down the passageways. “I'll go left Alden. Alert the guards!” Alden ran passed Nathan and out of view. Nathan listened to the quiet dripping sound and heard small feet on his left. He moved calmly and slowly down the passageway and then it opened into a small crowded room with planks inside. He slowly closed the door, and listened once more. No sound.
Calmly and slowly, Nathans started to whistle a tune and walked around the room feeling the boards. The firm feeling and the dusty smell helped Nathan to slow down his breath. He moved his feet slowly and softly, waiting patiently when suddenly he heard another sliding noise a few steps ahead. Rather than running over to the position of the noise, he pretended he didn't hear it and continued to examine the planks.

When he finally stepped right next to the noise, he purposely picked up up a plank and dropped it with a hard movement onto the group of planks and they all fell down with a loud bang. A small cry of help was heard during the commosation and then the store room door burst open. “I found the grunt! Over here!” yelled the man that entered. Nathan gave the man a slight glance, and peers through the mess. In the middle of it was a small blond headed girl, covered from head to toe in saw dust. She slowly squeezes through the rubble, and started to moan from agony and fright. Poor girl thought Nathan.
The guards started running into the room, with halberd ready at their sides. They point it towards the girl and Nathan surrounding them. “Out of my way, Out of my way!.” yelled Alden, as he pushed through the guards and into the middle of the action. He looked from the girl on the ground and to Nathan, giving a slow smirk. Nathan looked at the girl better examining her and notices a small tattoo on the back of her neck. He didn't get a good view of it, for her hair was brushed over it but he knew what it was symboled. The girl had a small rosy face, with bright blue eyes that sparkle from the surrounding light. She wore rags but still she looks like she will one day be a beautiful woman. Nathan slowly bent down and stared onto her face. “Are you afraid of me?” he asked. The girl stopped rubbing her head and stared back at Nathan. She seemed to be afraid of him, but she merely replied by shaking her head. He grinned.
“Alden, I'll take her. She possesses some kind of ... a spark. And she has not only brains but also a courage dagger that will pierce the world,” Nathan declared with a large grin. “Star, you will become my apprentice.”

Chapter 3
Night's Interruption
The forest glimmered with life, with new eyes of different colors and sizes that appeared from nowhere and watched the advancing stranger on horseback. He had a tanned cavalier hat with a large overcoat to shield him from the chilling cold. He had a small companion that couldn't have been seen unless if you looked real hard in front of him. It was a small creature that cried a little bit, beginning of the trip but after a while settled down and listened to the late night music of the crickets. She listened to the steady hooves of the horse and turned her blond head towards the stranger that sat behind her. The man didn't resemble her father, but he still held a fatherly spirit towards her. His hard, emerald eyes shined in the dark, with his brown tanned hair that hung loosely over his face. His figure pressed lightly against the girl, transferring warmth towards her causing her not to shiver. The man started talking beginning of the trip, but the only thing that she could think of was her parents and if she would ever see them again. The memory of them seemed so far away, and it was dying slowly.
“We're almost there, Star.” replied the man to her. The thing that always seemed to puzzle her, was the name they gave her. She looked up and saw the many blinking distant lights that shined down on her, the moon glowing to the right, fuller than she had ever seen it before.
The stranger signaled the horse to travel faster, causing the rhythmic feeling that they followed for a while to die away, and the forest moved faster now. Star looked ahead and saw a distance wall with light coming from it. A distorted house came into view, with lights coming from the window stills, and two large horse in front tied to a large pole. The great beasts neighed as another companion joined them and Star entered the building with the stranger.

Low talking was spread through out the building, with a small violin playing to a cheerful melody that helped the mood of the long ride that they had to end. The room was larger than Star thought it was from the outside, with long tables in three different aisles. Men sat in small scattered groups talking to each other with a drink or a meal next to them. A bar was on the left with many colored bottled on the wall, that people required. A short and plumply man walked behind the bar serving people, and watched the stranger with a small girl walk in.
“Nathan!” roared the bartender. “Come plant yourself one here.”
The stranger held Star's hand firmly but not tightly, navigated to the bar and sat down on a stool with Star next to him. Nathan is his name then, thought Star as she looked from the bartender to him. The bartender had a large gray beard, with uncombed hair and dark eyes. He reminded Star of the gypsies that roamed the lands. “How you been there, Hurst. Quite a while eh?”
“Ah these bones still holding on,” replied Hurst. “But hold a tick, who is this young'un?”
Nathan looked over to Star, and after she scanned the area realized that both men were staring at her. She blushed lightly but with her nearly frozen face betrayed her cause her to glow lightly. The large plumply man started to chuckle to himself and the man named Nathan grinned at her. “This is Star.”
“Well ello there Star. Names Hurst.” began the plumply man. He gave a large smile revealing his yellow teeth and extended his hand towards her. She really didn't know what to do, but gave hers to his causing him to grin a larger smile than before. “Right. Hurst I need one room, if you can spare and some food for me and Star,” demanded Nathan.
Hurst looked to Nathan holding up his hands. “Eh, I always got a room for you Nat, and food will be right up don't worry. Claire will bring it up and I know she will be happy to see you.”

“Can hardly wait...” Nathan replied, and he picked up Star from the stool and started following Hurst. Hurst pulled out a set of keys from his pocket, and jingled them as they walked upstairs. “Room 11, here's the key and if you need your horse unsaddled tell me now, so Thomas can do that before the wolves use the meat.”
Nathan took the brass key, opened the door allowing Star to enter and said in quick reply, “Tan horse, he has a white spot near his left eye, call him Badger. And knock twice for the food.” Nathan entered the room, and closed the door. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Star staring out through the window looking towards the night sky. She sat on the bed, legs criss-crossed with her back turned to him. Nathan walked over to a small bowl and poured water into it from a bucket. He splashed some of it against his face, letting it to drench his dirty pores and allow him to refresh. He looked over to the bed as he started to dry his face with a towel and saw that Star didn't move from her original spot. He walked over and leaned in next to her noticing a thin smell of cherry flowers from her. She must be royalty thought Nathan.
“That's Orion's Belt.” Nathan said as he saw a cluster of brightly lit stars that seemed to attract her eyes. “And thats Lily's Petal right next to it. You can tell which one it is, but the small V it makes with the six stars.”
Star turned to him, and examined him. The dusty and strange face was gone, replaced with a kinder one. One that made her feel, safe. “Why do you call me Star?”she asked, her eyes not leaving those dark pools of green eyes. “I'll show you.”he replied back. *Look do you see Lily's Petal? Not too far away from it is called Cries. Well there is a small story behind ... ”
