In the center of the Demon Realms is the most powerful of its territories; Sheol, home to the Void King. Sheol is half sea, and half wasteland, the former brimming with demons and monsters created by those demons, and the latter barren of life except for the occasional slum-filled metropolis or foreboding fortress. The air of Sheol is highly electrified, producing dangerously strong shocks on all who attempt to traverse it by land or sea. Sheol’s skies are ever covered by a thick blanket of cloud; from which balls of fire, extremely cold liquid air, or noxious sludge occasionally rain down upon the land and sea. The natives of Sheol are cunning, powerful, and arrogant, and more often than not have imported slaves from other territories of the Demon Realm. At least in theory, all citizens of Sheol owe allegiance to the Void King.

In the dead center of Sheol stands the Void King’s Palace, Peccata Castellum, or as it is more commonly called in Sheol, Château d'Diable. The Castle itself covers the size of a small human country, and is surrounded by nine massive walls, the tops of which reach into the ever looming storm clouds above Sheol. Each wall has a single gate, most of which are watched over at all times by a gate keeper.

The first gate is named Counsel, and is a black gate covered with writing that glows like live coals. All who approach it can hear whispers telling them how to achieve power, wisdom, and wealth through evil acts. The gatekeeper of this gate is a wizened demon, who, if asked, can suggest multiple evils that can be done to gain power, knowledge, or status.

The second gate is named Command, and is in the shape of a statue of a colossal demon bearing a bejeweled crown. When one approaches it, the statue will demand a specific evil act be performed by the one approaching it. The statue will only move aside (and thus allow passage) once the action is performed. This statue acts as both gatekeeper and gate.

The third gate is named Consent, and is a green gate with a large eye set in its center. The eye sees the evil intentions of those approaching it and will voice its approval of those evil intentions, and point out everything that can be gained by acting on them. The gatekeeper for this gate is a cunning demon who helps lay to rest any doubts that a person may have about acting on an evil impulse.

The fourth gate is named Provocation, and is made of some type of crystal. When approaching this gate, a person will see within this crystal all the times he or she has been wronged, and by whom. The gatekeeper is a demon skilled at scrying and if asked will reveal all those who have hard feelings or evil plans for the asker.

The fifth gate is named Praise, and takes the form of a mirror. While approaching, a person will see themselves reflected in the gate, as well as everything they have gained through evil means. The gatekeeper is a demonic bard who daily records poems glorifying the evil done by others. If one asks, the bard will give them a copy of all the poems which honor the asker.

The sixth gate is named Concealment, and is covered in a thick darkness. The gatekeeper there will, on request destroy all evidence of one’s evil acts.

The seventh gate is named Partaking, and consists of a gate of reinforced metal with a hole in its center. To open the gate, one must place some ill-gotten good into this hole. The gatekeeper there is a greedy demon who will charge a fee before allowing someone to pass through.

The eighth gate is named Silence, and consists of a gate bearing an engraving of a demon covering its mouth with both hands. No noise can be heard or made anywhere near the gate.

The final gate is named Defense and bears the symbol of an uneven scale. In front of it sits Marchosias, grand judge of the demon realms. He peers into the minds of those approaching him, and has all those he disapproves of “disposed of.”
"He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

Within the last wall stand the palace and four watchtowers which stretch deep into the clouded sky: the first tower is called Murder, and is built with bones. Blood gushes from this tower, forming a stream that pours down a drain nearby; the second tower is named Sodom, and is built of sore infested flesh; the third tower is Oppression, and is built of dreary grey stone and covered in chains; and the final tower is named Fraud, and is covered in a thick mist.

The palace itself is built in the shaped of a hexagon with a tower at each of its points and at its center. There are six hundred and sixty six floors from the ground to the starting point of any of the towers, each of the towers, from where they start to where they end measure six hundred sixty-six meters, and finally, there are six hundred and sixty six basement floors, ending with the floor which bears the Void King’s throne room.

The six towers which rise from the edges of the palace are named Envy, Sloth, Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, and Lechery, while the tower in the center is named Pride. These towers are watched over by the Demon Black Guard; seven elite demons who answer only to the Void King himself.

The palace itself has six entrance gates. The first gate is named Despair, and engraved on it are the words “Not even the gods can save me.” The second gate is named Presumption, and engraved on it is, “If the gods are so great, they will forgive me.” The third gate is named Impugnation and engraved on it is the phrase, “There is no God.” The fourth gate is named Spiritual Envy and reads, “I deserve all blessings more than they.” The fifth gate is named Obstinacy and reads, “To turn from evil is worse than continuing in evil.” and the final gate is Impenitence and reads, “I shall apologize to neither God nor man.”

The palace is built of precious stones, and embedded with gems. Legions of demons prowl its walls and passages, all of them in service to their master, the Void King; the first being to sin, he whose name means Adversary of God. And from this palace, he plots to return the world to the nothingness from which it was wrought. Many mortals have fallen because of this being's mechanisms, but as of yet, he has been unable to achieve his true goal; the destruction of everything in existence. However, finally, an opportunity has presented itself, one which he is sure will not come again for many years, and so he has sent summons to the Demon Black Guard; ordering them to appear before him, so that he may put his plan into motion.

--AUTHOR'S NOTE---

And that's about half of what I planned to have written. Storyline will continue soon, but I had to get those descriptions out of the way.

BTW, some of you may have guessed this, but originally the sixth tower was named Lu(c)st, not Lechery, but guess what? Jagex censors the former. (Which makes little sense, I mean, you could have a word like bloodl(c)ust which fits into the context of the game, and it would be censored, but Lechery can only mean one thing, and its not censored.)

The demons built them. However, it is worth pointing out that those gates were "built" in a different way than a person would build something.

You see, the way we build things consists of roughly three steps; 1. Gather material (i.e. mine stone, cut down trees), 2. Shape material (i.e. cut stone into blocks and logs into planks, beams, etc.) and 3. construct what we want using the prepared materials.

However, unlike our world, the Demon Realms were created by the demons themselves using projections on their wills. Château d'Diable (and a couple other palaces) were made by the demons as they formed the world (In fact, Château d'Diable was the first part of the Demon Realms).

So while it is entirely true that the demons made Château d'Diable (and its gates) they didn't "build" them in our sense of the word. Rather, they formed it as part of the world they created.

Sorry, if my explanation is confusing...

I´m posting on this account as wzzl. It´s my bros account and I finaly managed to borow his pw for forum purposes :P

That being said... You realy have done a lot of adds lately and in hasn't gone unnoticed. It's all so awesome how the story is progressing. Although I don't see where in this story about those childs and weird overpowered magic comes in the reason you've started to rewrite this whole thing, namely the it should be closer to runescape. :P
Up untill now the story has only gotten more complicated instead of the more simple and clear version I thought it would be. That's ofcourse not a bad thing, but describing details only for the sake of details is certainly very cool and can add a lot to the richness of a world etc. But it can clutter the story a bit to the point you don't remember anything from the beginning of the book at the point when you finished it.

And about the whole Void thingy... It gets quite complicated but I think I get it. There is only something in the Void coz there are demons there. If the demons would move out it would automaticly change back to nothingness.
What I don't get is why the demons of the Void don't try to destroy the spirit world where the primordal gods are, but only want to go to the 'runescape world'. You did say that the Void king is stronger than any primordal god besides the First God right?
Also, you said that if a demon dies he goes back to the Void. Isn't that like cheating? :P So if you kill a demon in this world it makes no difference at all because they could come back anytime? That's not a very promosing thing.

You're doing great - keep it up. you're writing something that manages to captivate me even long after I've quit runescape. I'm looking forward to the next add :D

Nice to hear from you again Wzzl. I'll do what I can to answer your questions and comments (unfortunately, I'll have to leave some things out so as not to spoil some aspects of the plot).

First, about the four children; As Seth mentioned each bears the favor of one of the primordial gods. In the past, they were sort of regarded as prophets or priests of those gods, and also have some of the gods' attributes. One thing the children can do is call directly on the power of the god whom they have allegiance to, this is the source of their somewhat overpowered magic. However, each has at least one disadvantage that is associated with their god. Rose, for example, being the child of chaos is usually unable to control her power (and occasionally unaware she even has it), and Seth has terrible night vision and is colorblind (this was hinted at before I started over when I mentioned he couldn't tell the difference between most types of metal: in RS metal is normally distinguished by color.)

Jumping down to the question about why the demons don't focus on the primordial deities. It is true, that the Void King could at the very least hold his own against any one of the primordial deities (other than the First God, of course) however, while common belief holds that the gods of light and darkness oppose each other, and the goddesses of chaos and order oppose each other, all four have the tendency to temporarily team up if an external force tries to fight them. So, while the Void King could handle one of them, should he try anything, he would inevitably be up against all four, which he could not handle (Not that he hasn't considered trying, since if any one of the primordial gods were to be destroyed the resulting skewing of balance would have likely catastrophic effects on the universe.)

However, as it is, the demons prefer that the four primordial gods waste their time arguing amongst themselves rather than take a chance that the four will unite against them.
