Balor's face mimicked his confusion, his inability to understand. ""My father"?" Balor then softly repeated with raised eyebrows, quoting Raphael's words. As Raphael glared sharply like his eyes were daggers, the young leader then felt the back of his collar get grabbed. He was then peeled off of Balor, thrust aside.

He was thrown off to his left, crashing into the ground hard on his left side. His body stopped beside the corpse of one of the many that cloaked the floor, opening his eyes to see its face. He then slowly rose to his feet, finding Lucia beside her brother. His angry turned to sadness the minute he saw her, the light fading from his eyes. "Elena..." he mumbled softly and painfully.

"It's over, Raphael," Lucia then told him. "Look around you... you're the only one left."

His eyes scanned the room, casting out to see if she were correct. His eyes immediately widened, his jaw then flapped open like a banner. Such death on such a wide scale appeared vividly all through the room, the faces and bodies of people he knew and loved like family laid still and silent upon the floor. He stood there on his knees, holding his back straight up, and he just stared in disbelief.

His pants soaking in the blood of his comrades, his eyes drenched in the bodies and bodily fluids of them. Everywhere he looked, death claimed so many. Bodies laid on top of each other, covering up another, their faces smothered in their own crimson and guts. The smell of it was horrible, running into Raphael's nostrils.

All the soldiers and people of the Imperial Kingdom were far too deep in the fathoms of the valley of death, a world where no man should travel. A foot deep in the bodies and death of both their enemies and allies, the knights wore no faces, spoke no words at their unspeakable actions. Gallows stared with a worn out face, sorrowful and stricken with a grievous heartache.

Raphael couldn't believe his eyes, completely dumbfounded. He looked as though he had found himself in a world in which he had no words for, because this world was not the one he knew. This dreadful, unimaginable horror sunk into his heart, and even further down... lodged deep down into his soul.

Two Loyal Knights then came up from behind Raphael, one knight tucked Raphael's right arm under his arm while the other knight did the exact same thing to Raphael's left arm. They pulled him up off of his feet, carrying him to the center of the room. They placed him down, being at the heart of the carcasses. They were by his feet, in front of him, to his left, to his right, everywhere.

They locked his arms as though he were chained up in shackles, his arms held. He appeared like the letter Y broken in half, his saddened, shocked expression still worn upon his face. With his blade sheathed, Gallows walked over, journeying across the desert of death, its bloodstained sand made up of the corpses and organs of the fallen.

He traveled to the west, going to the southwestern section of the room. The scar-faced general then found himself standing over the armless titan, Soter the Savior. Gallows' sky blue irises then turned to his king. "My lord," Gallows' voice then spoke, taking the king's attention. "Soter the Savior."

Intrigued, Balor walked over to Gallows. His gaze fixated downwards, clearing across the hills of carcasses. He then smirked arrogantly, finding the opportunity he longed for finally before him. "The Elder Gods were quite foolish to have sent you here," Balor said.

"You will profit nothing from this," the titan then replied.

"Is that so?" the king responded, kneeling down next to Soter. Balor then tightly clenched his hand around Soter's forehead, the grip he applied so tight it could crush bone. "I suppose we shall see, won't we?"

Soter then began feeling his very life being drained from his body, feeling his consciousness fading away into the black. The glowing embers that poured out from Soter's wounds began to lessen in quantity, before disappearing entirely. His body began to spasm, violently at times. And Balor felt a surge of power flow into him, able to feel it course through all of his veins.

Soter's body then just stopped trying to fight it, surrendering to Balor's hand. The light from Soter's eyes had begun to dissipate, his body growing still. A blank expression draped along Soter's face, his eyes no longer reacting to anything at all. Soter's vision was no more, his body ceasing all function... He was gone...

"Soter, hold on!" Raphael shouted. "Soter?! SOTERRRR!!"

Balor then let go of Soter's forehead, slowly rising to his feet. He looked at the palm of the hand he grabbed Soter's head with, his right hand. He felt a change all throughout his body, through every part of him. It felt as though every single cell in his body harmoniously pulsated with this power, humming to the same song.

Balor turned a glance to his sister, who had walked over in front of Raphael. He began walking back to her, his presence alone now was truly staggering. Shinon, stepping forward and close to Lucia, furiously swung his hand towards Balor, lashing his finger towards him. "There, you got your prize," he yelled. "Now, hold your end of the bargain! Give me back my brother!"

Lucia's pale blue eyes then slowly shifted in the direction of Shinon's voice, seeing his eyes glaring at her. She appeared stoic, her irises like circles of ice. But there was a sense to it, almost like she were annoyed by the sound of his voice. Shinon then gained something he didn't expect, his eyes widened, his jaw hung loose.

New blood began to trickle down, joining in on the hundreds of other stains that splatted across the floor. His black irises then looked down, feeling a source of great pain. He found adamas sticking out from his abdomen, blood pouring down his body. His eyes followed that adamas, finding it to be a blade gripped by a hand.

He followed that hand up its arm, until he found its source to be the onyx-headed queen herself. She had stabbed him with Eshenel, the blade ripping through his flesh. His shocked face then switched to fury, pure resentment for the person in front of him. "Y-you...!" he angrily spoke. "Y-you wretch...! I-I thought... I thought we had a deal..."

"No, you're mistaken," she then corrected him, then quickly pulling her blade out. " we had no such deal."

"D-damn you..." he then cursed, dropping down to his knees and falling down upon his back. "Rolf..." Shinon fell upon the back of an armoured corpse, his eyes closing. He became yet another casualty, another addition to the collection of corpses. Gallows and Raphael stared with a shocked expression, taken back by Lucia's callous, coldhearted action.

"Elena..." Raphael mumbled her name once more, speechless in regards to her brutality.

Lucia then looked behind her, staring at her brother. "Brother," she then called. "I trust you've no objections."

The king shook his head. "Not at all," he answered, reacting to Lucia's heartless cruelty.

"My queen, if I may object," Gallows then conveyed, disagreeing with what she had done, her eyes gazing upon him. He began to step forward, towards the siblings. "That was completely unnecessary, the human did not have to die."

Standing at Raphael's left, Balor crossed his arms. "Come now, Gallows," Balor said to his general, smirking. "You're starting to sound as though you've turned into a some sort of human advocate."

"No, sire," the general was quick to deny. "I just beli—"

"—General," Lucia's voice then suddenly cropped up in the conversation, cutting straight through Gallows' words. "if I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it."

Gallows just stared at Lucia, who in turn looked at him. What has she become? Gallows could only wonder what happened to the kind, merciful princess that she was. He then clenched his left hand, placing it up against the right side of his chest. He then leaned his torso slightly forward, the queen able to the top of his bald head. "My apologies, madam," he returned, submitting and holding his words. "I'll be sure to mind my tongue next time."

Then, out from the western wing, the bear-hugging Loyal Knight and Daevarro. He was still as enraged and angry as he was, struggling with every bone and muscle in his body to break free. Seeing Daevarro, Balor began to chuckle lightly to himself. "Ah, there's the little cultist," Balor noticed, seeing the raving dark-robed young man.

The Loyal Knight then stood before Balor and Lucia, put Daevarro down just like Raphael. Daevarro was put to his knees, his arms up as though imprisoned by shackles. Balor turned to his sister, who seemed to have a unfamiliar look to her face. "Sister," he then called, his dark-blue eyes scrolling down. He saw her hand in which she held her weapon, it had begun to shake. "were you friends with this one?"

She stepped in front of Daevarro, who was swinging all over the place. He was kicking his legs, violently throwing himself around to break the knight's grasp. Both of the knights put one of their feet down upon the back of the young 's man calves. One of the Loyal Knights grabbed the back of the young man's head and held him down, vicious and unpredictable as he could be.

"Daevarro," Lucia then softly named. The onyx-headed queen could hear nothing but the seething rage emitting from the dark robed young man, completely ignoring her.

After a moment of silence that Daevarro delivered, the knights in charge of his binding got fed up. The Loyal Knight who held Daevarro's head down then pulled his head up, his glowing eyes shooting knives at him. Daevarro traded blows with him, throwing knives colliding. "Talk, half-breed," the knight demanded in a growl. "our queen speaks to you!"

"Daevarro," the queen once more called, her voice sincere. "Look... I'm willing to offer you a better opportunity, a better life. You don't have to suffer anymore, you've done too much of that already. You can escape from the fighting, from this pain, from all of this. You can live a life of freedom and happiness, where sorrow and anger are just things of the past. I don't want to have to kill you, because... it would be such a waste. So, please, accept my offer. Please come back with us, come back to Governanti."

Balor gave Daevarro quite the serious look, keeping his arms crossed. "Take the deal," Balor honestly advised.

Raphael turned to his only comrade left, the young man enshrouded in darkness. "Daevarro," Raphael then spoke. "get out of this place and live. Take it!"

Daevarro's hateful eyes darted at Lucia, his face forced to look up at the ceiling. The queen waited patiently for Daevarro's response, hoping that perhaps he was considering it. "I'd rather die than stand beside you monsters!" the dark-robed young man then growled with malice and anger.

Lucia let out a heavy breath after this, saddened by the young man's choice. "Then die you shall," she confirmed to him.

Lucia's ears heard Balor sigh heavily behind her, who seemed somewhat dissatisfied by Daevarro's answer to his sister. "How utterly disappointing," the king then responded to Daevarro's return. "I suppose when crossing a desert, some fools take wine instead of water."

The Loyal Knight who held onto Daevarro's head forced his head back down once more, furious by his disregard for the situation. The queen then just stared down at Daevarro, who continued to harshly peer up at her. It went from a moment, to another, to another... Still, Lucia couldn't get her arm to move to cut down the young man.

In fact, she couldn't get her arm to move at all. It was like her body no longer belonged to her, as though it's listening to the call of another. She wanted to kill, its prospect in her mind. But her body was saying no? This has never happened before, even when slew all of members of Resistance, even Shinon. She began to wonder why it was just happening now, why couldn't it have happened before she starting killing all she knew?

Balor heard this struggle, everyone did. Her struggle, her underbreath whimpers, her quivering hand. Her face held a lack of expression, but the battle was plain to see. Her body was stuck, completely frozen still. Balor's dazzling blue eyes then turned to his sister, easily seeing her pain, her war. "Sister?" he called, concerned. "If you are unable to kill him, I cou--"

Lucia then raised her left hand, halting Balor's voice. The king noticed something off suddenly about his sister, she had this... aura about her. It was impossible to describe, but something about her made Balor think that that was no longer his sister. Sure, she wore her face and wielded her voice, but there was just something so different about Lucia. And her brother simply couldn't place it.

She then began to fall, dropping down to Daevarro's level. She stood there, on her knees, her pale blue eyes gazing at something, but it wasn't Daevarro. It was what he wore around his neck, that strange pendant. Her glowing eyes reflected off the small chuck of flawless, blackened metal. Her left hand then very slowly reached for it, the tips of her fingers coming into Daevarro's view.

"Don't you dare touch my sister's pendant," he very adamantly, very fiercely demanded, causing her arm to freeze up as though she were trying to steal a valuable gem but were spotted. Her arm then backpedaled, recoiling like a snake back into its hole. She felt the utter loathing sting of Daevarro's words, feeling the hatred and fury radiant off of him. The onyx-haired woman then placed her left hand upon Daevarro's shoulder.

The very second she did, Daevarro felt a sense of peace, a sense of relief washed over him like a bucket of water poured slowly on top of his head. His eyes widened at this moment, his jaw hung ajar. He felt like he could breathe again, like that overwhelming, encumbering burden of hatred and indignation was a ceiling that obstructed his view of the world.

But the very moment she put her hand upon him, that ceiling had been lifted, allowing him to see the world again. "Listen to me, child," she then mumbled to him, the way she spoke was not typical of the queen, and Balor was able to pick up on this. "You mustn't be here anymore, you must forsake this place."

"But I..." he muttered back. "I can't, not again!"

"'Tis not the time nor place for dissension," the onyx-headed woman advised the young man. "Listen not to your voice, listen only to mine. You need only do as I say... please."

It was odd, the young man thought. This voice, this presence... It wasn't Lucia, that much was for certain. It felt... unbearably dark, yet exceptional, like the omnipotent, glistering sun. He felt like this voice -- whatever it might be -- had correct intentions, that there was kindness and care behind those words that masqueraded behind Lucia's voice.

Balor could hear the strange conversation being held between the two, the way Lucia spoke was... very unlike her. Balor looked down at his sister with worry, raising his eyebrow. "Lucia," he named with disconcert, she then began to rise off of her knees the moment Balor mentioned her. "are you all right?"

She turned to Balor, lightly smiling. But something about it was wrong, it was crooked, twisted, forced. "I am fine, my brother," she then returned to him, pulling her eyes back to the imprisoned Daevarro. "Release him."

Without a moment of hesitation or resistance, the Loyal Knights pulled their arms away from the dark-robed young man. They pried him from their ensnare, granting him the freedom he had lost. Daevarro stood up to his feet, his hazel eyes staring at Lucia. He saw something truly different about her, something Balor could see too.

Her eyes were not hollow like they've been, there were full of harshness, of absolute, pure hatred, fury far stronger than any storm. Yet the moment she peered upon Daevarro's face, there was something else thrown into the mix... It was like a ray of light in the middle of that storm, one that offer warmth, kindness, tenderness, adoration. It was that sort that Daevarro only knew from his sister: an unquestionable, undeniable, unending, devoted sense of love.

"You are free to leave," she then stated, surprising everyone in the room. "I advise you take your leave now before I change my mind."

Daevarro peered forward, having a stare down with the woman before him. The two then traded words, holding an entire conversation with just their eyes alone. Though the young man did not know the situation placed upon him, he realized that running was the only way for him to go now. He was tempted to stand and fight, but he knew that would end horribly.

Biting his lip, angry that once more he had to run, that he had to do as he was told, Daevarro turned away from the black-haired woman, bolting towards the door. He flew passed the knights, coming out from the castle and into the darkness and death of the night. Daevarro knew he had to hide, surely there were knights out here that knew nothing of the pardon given to him by the woman.

Balor didn't desire to question his sister's decision to spare the boy, to allow him to walk this land. The onyx-haired woman then closed her eyes, letting out a heavy breath. A few seconds later, her pale blue eyes was revealed as her eyelids peel open. Lucia noticed that Daevarro, the young man whom she was about to execute, was no longer before her.

She quickly shuffled her eyes, looking all around. She realized that she blacked out once more, just like that time all those months ago. Now stood only Raphael, whose purple eyes looked up Lucia. He saw that she looked like she had just woken up, that she was confused, unable to answer several things for herself.

Balor, knowing that something was wrong with his sister, turned to her with concern. "Are you all right, sister?" he asked. She knew now that she had to kill Raphael, that she had to execute him. Her hands tightly clenched together, she felt distressed, heavily burdened. Her breath trembling, her face tightening up. She then felt a hand find her shoulder, Balor attempting to comfort his sister. "Sister, we can just take him in as prisoner. He doesn't have to die if you don't wish him to."

"Men," then spoke Lucia, turning to her knights, particularly the knights then held down Raphael. "Leave, I must speak to His Majesty in private. Go around the castle, destroy everything."
