Gallows then turned his head to what was behind him, shaking his head. "Take off your masks," he whispered the order. Thanks to their strong sense of hearing, a whisper sounded just like a normal person talking. They did as commanded, ripping off the masks lent to them and throwing their helmets back on.

Now that they no longer had the blackened glass over their eyes, their presence was then known through the glows of their eyes. The thick-bearded archer immediately took notice, seeing the fog suddenly begin to take on color. The combined plethora of blues cast out from the fog appeared like a single large light, ominous and imposing in its appearance.

The bearded archer took notice of this light, his eyes stolen from him. He stared, focused, but he couldn't make heads-or-tails of it. The strength of the lights grew, becoming brighter and brighter. They moved very slightly, as though someone were waving it. "...What the hell?" the thick-bearded archer mumbled in confusion, unable to determine what exactly he was staring at.

Then his ears caught the sound of a heavy pounding, very quick in its replay. It was very swift, growing louder and louder. His heart began to sink further and further down, a harsh reality was about to be upon them. Suddenly, he was able to make out images. He saw blackened figures with glowing eyes, an appearance that immediately sent him into alert.

He bolted towards the edge of the wall behind him, which led within the walls. There was a soldier just beneath him, taking his post. "Welton!" the archer frantically called, taking the soldier's attention. "Go to Audley, now! "

"Wh-what?" the soldier named Welton stuttered. "What goes on!?"

"The gods are here!" he loudly stated, rushing off. In the center of the top of the walls, a large bell meant to alarm everyone in the city. His hectic rush, his hyperventilated breath, jolting for that instrument. His armour swaying back and forth, causing him to lose balance a few times. He was almost there, his sweat briskly rushing down the sides of his head.

Just as he came close, something flew out and bit him. An arrow had hit him, digging into his neck. The head of the arrow had pierced through his throat, piercing through his windpipe. This sent blood barreling down his neck, his hand hold fast upon his throat. The archer fell down, struggling for breath with wheezing yelps. He hit the ground hard on his front, his blood pooling around his head. The bell remained just out of his reach, so weak was he to grasp it.

Down below, the Loyal Knights made charge for the city, armed to the teeth in dangerous steel and deadly intent. In the middle of the rushing body of bright eyes, Shinon saw the results of his work. Just close enough to see, the red-headed archer's face became a grimace as he clenched onto his right shoulder. The injury he sustained at Lumbridge crept upon him, a constant reminder of the events which occurred there... of the life that was taken from him.

"Dammit..." Shinon frustratingly growled to himself. "My shot's still messed up... I wanted his jugular, not the front of his throat..."

Balor casually strolled over beside Shinon, his hands held together behind his back. His smirking face watched as the archer fell to the red-headed archer's arrow. "Nice shot," he spoke the very unusually words, actually complimenting the human.

Shinon's eyes turned as soon as the king opened his mouth, giving him a harsh, hateful glare. The red-haired archer just kept sharply stabbing his eyes upon Balor, not speaking a single word. After a moment or two, Shinon joined up with the rest of the army. He charged onwards, his pounding steps flinging up dirt as he ran. He put aside his bow, drawing his sister's blade. He left Balor, completely ignoring the thing he very rarely gave to anyone, let alone a human.

The king sighed, just continuing to mosey along so relaxed and easy-paced. Noticing that the archers from above could pose a threat, some of the Loyal Knights decided to take the fight to them. Their steadfast sprint allowed them speed, catapulting their bodies upwards. They landed on top of the gates, sending some of the archers in a frightened dash to save themselves. They ran as fast as they could, getting cursed at by those who stood up to the gods.

The human knights had heard the commotion, readying themselves for whatever may come. Fearful they were of the invading army, but they stood strong. They acknowledged that this was their duty, the thing that they must do. They had to shield them, protect the innocent humans from the reach of the gods once again. No more would they live the nightmare, that hell.

The Loyal Knights collided with the humans, their black steel clashed with the gray. Weapons clashed against the armour and sinew of the opposite, an absolute frenzy. Utter chaos had ensued, the center of the city becoming a battleground. The hundreds of people that filled the center of the city, almost equal on both sizes.

They played a terrible game: to avoid dying but be like death, bringing it to all on the opposing team. Shouts and metallic scraping echoed through the foggy night, causing innocent people and soldiers to awaken. Those soldiers prepared themselves for the battle, rushing out to assist their comrades. Men blocked the attacks made by the Loyal Knights, but other were not so fortunate.

They felt the blades of the gods carve into their flesh, feeling the crimson leave their bodies. Blood and limbs began flying into the air, covering the streets with a rug of violence. Bodies dropping, pain-filled screams a commonplace. As the fierce battle grew in intensity, soldiers from all around the city came along to assist. The city street began to become flooded with the signs of war, tracing a path of outright murder.

It was clear, however, that this was no battle... it was a complete decimation.

Gallows and Drakon found themselves dancing around these soldiers, slicing them up. Forced to use his blade with one arm, the scar-faced general swung his blade across the soldier's torso, creating a large, gapping hole in his torso. The soldier screamed out in pain, dropping down to his knees and falling down to his right side.

Gallows was going to finish the soldier's life, but another came after him. But before Gallows reacted to it, Drakon quickly cut the soldier off and stabbed his sword into the soldier's torso. All Gallows felt of the actions behind him were just a fluttering breeze, settling his eyes to the next in line. The general rushed over, finding another.

A soldier came at him, raising his axe up high. The soldier swung his axe downwards, it was easy enough for even Gallows to dodge. The general quickly pushed forward, launching the pommel of his blade towards the man's face. His heavy-hitting half-sword attack was crushing in power, stunning the soldier entirely.

He clenched onto his face, growling at this brand new agony. But then he felt the delivery of a powerful blow, a blade that had lunged itself into his torso. Gallows then pulled his blade out of the knight, who began to fall. The blue-eyed general then turned to his right, seeing the red-headed archer handling a man... but another crept behind him.

Shinon slashed his sword in the collarbone of a soldier, thrusting his right hand to quickly push him down to the ground. He then turned around, about to face another soldier who was right on top of him. Shinon's eyes then saw the point of a blade sticking out from the soldier's abdomen, then saw the sword slither away.

The soldier then collapsed to the left, revealing Gallows just behind him. "Stay close," the general advised.

"Like I'd listen to a god," the red-headed archer responded.

"You want to survive, don't you?" asked Gallows.

"Tch..." he growled, knowing Gallows to be true. His doubt upon his swordplay was well-founded, being that he barely used a sword.

The Loyal Knights held their ground, their weapons leaving the entrails and blood of their enemies behind them. They went from one to another, putting the stranglehold upon the humans. Many of the humans were weak and poorly trained, some barely having any experience at all. The gods felt as though they were like pigs to the slaughter, dropping like flies all around them.

Lucia too found herself feeling the same way, slashing her new blade into one and then another. Those men barely fit to be called soldiers haplessly swung their weapons around, the queen easily read their attacks. Her stance appeared calm and composed, keeping her left arm behind her back. It was a literal waltz, just dodging the soldier's swinging sword. His blade constantly sailing by her, her emotionless face.

But still, inside that suit of apathy, she was conflicted. With each person she had killed to this point, she had closed her eyes. She didn't want to see it, the flame of their life being extinguished by the breath in her lungs. She viciously cursed herself in thought, her arms so wanting to stop. But she felt like a puppet, some other force continued to pull at her stings and made her do this.

Wielding a one-handed blade in his right hand, a soldier lunged his blade forward. She stepped off to her right, coming in low. Her blade then pushed downward, finding the man's wrist. The sword got a taste of his flesh, cutting straight through. His hand cleaved off so cleanly, dropping down to the ground along with his sword.

His voice painfully bellowed, screaming -- almost even crying -- as he watched his own severed hand hit the stone-brink path. The agony he suffered, the blood that profusely poured out, brought tears to his eyes. She then was quick to put his misery to an end, continuing her attack. She pulled her lowly-held blade upwards, slashing it diagonally across his torso.

The soldier flew backwards, hitting the ground hard upon his back. She watched his own crimson ooze out onto the ground, his breath-stolen face. She seemed grievous, pain-stricken. But she felt something grow on her face, she couldn't tell what. Her left hand reached up, finding the source of this upon her face. It was small, but she had no time to truly investigate.

Lucia then heard another come from behind her, his armour clinked as he pressed forward. Raising his shortsword high to his right side, the soldier swung his blade from his upper right down to his lower left. Lucia pulled her blade backwards over her right shoulder, its tip pointing down the ground. The strong flat of her blade caught the soldier's blade, stopping it in its tracks.

Because of his short range, he was within reach. Lucia grabbed his arm, putting his elbow to her right shoulder. With all of her power, she gripped so very tightly upon his wrist. So painful was it, breaking the bones in his wrist. This caused him to drop his weapon, his face gripped with pain. She then threw the soldier over her shoulder, his body slamming down with powerful force.

His face became a grimace, grabbed with pain as he fell down entirely upon his back. She then quickly lunged her blade into his abdomen, piercing through his liver. The soldier coughed out blood, feeling his life drain from his body. Her heart ached as she watched her former comrade bleed out from an injury caused by her, she looked on in horror.

But she once more found this strange feeling, but this time it grew stronger. She wanted to see what it was, but she had no time. Lucia pulled out her blade and went on to the next guy, but took pause as she suddenly felt something send her entire left side darting backwards. She staggered backwards, finally catching herself a moment later.

Lucia gripped her teeth, her glowing eyes slowly scrolling down to find the source. An arrow had hit her, locating the left side of her chest. The arrow chartered a course through her left lung, piercing straight down the middle. She just stood there, feeling the incredible pain of an injury that would take down a normal person -- human or not.

She then slowly pulled her eyes upwards, quick to find the archer who pulled the string that made that arrow airborne. It was that blonde-haired one, whose face appeared in utter disbelief. His eyes took notice of the placement of his shot, the arrow that penetrated her lung. What kind of creature you must be in order to survive something like that, the image was horrific.

But his eyes also took notice of her face, her very familiar face. He saw her, the woman who freed him and his family from the shackles that once ensnared their ankles. She was a comrade, but more importantly... someone he was eternally grateful to. His very being sank at the thought, stunning him to his very core.

...Why? Why was she killing them, the people she helped save? This question brought him down to tears, but it also lifted him up with ire.

Lucia just continued to stolidly gaze up at him, the world around her a raging battle. Men fell, blood spilt, screams wailed, but those went as though they didn't exist. The queen put her blade in her left hand temporarily, reaching her right hand up to the arrow. She grabbed onto the arrow's shaft, very swiftly breaking it.

As she did, the archer pulled another arrow back on the string of his bow. She then discarded the remains, tossing them aside. It felt so strange, feeling the arrow's head wedge deeper with each breath. Putting her blade back in her proper hand, Lucia just continued to stare up at him. She saw the tip that glared at her, her Solasúian sense telling her that danger approached.

But she didn't care, she wouldn't even bother to try to dodge. It didn't really matter to her, willing to take any attack or any shot head-on. Her vision would see it, the bow in his hand quivering, the arrow swaying on-and-off of its target. She saw him, his gripped teeth, his seething sorrow and rage, his withdrawn irises, the tears flowing down his cheeks. He was completely and utterly paralyzed by the thought, the idea of her killing them.

But also, of the thought of how she was, the hand she gave to him to pull all he cared for out of that dark pit. Her ears then heard the sound of a rush of footsteps gunning for her, her pale blue eyes then turned that way. From her left, a soldier with a longsword fast approaching. Placing her left hand behind her back, Lucia recomposed herself as she patiently awaited him. With his blade in both of his hands, he swung from his upper right to his lower left.

She pulled her blade up to meet his, the edge of his blade slid down the edge of hers. That was, until it was caught by her cross-guard. She then twisted her blade slightly, the soldier's blade forcibly turning off to her outside. Lucia then pushed Eshenel forward, her blade pierced his chest. Its tip stabbed right through his heart, she watched his face react to the injury.

Her blade then retreated back to her side, pulling out blood along the way. The soldier then just fell backwards, collapsing like the last domino. Hitting the stone-brink floor behind him, he just became another carcass to add to this carpet of corpses. Lucia continued on, not caring about whether that hesitant archer intended to shoot at her or not.

She went back to killing, striking her blade across the body of any enemy in front of her. She found herself under attack by her own morality, wishing to stop this madness. Through the emotionless face, something screaming to be let out. It slowly broke through the stone dam, growing ever more on her face.

Meanwhile, that soldier named Welton found himself close to his destination. His haste nearly made him trip on multiple occasions, but he was almost there. His breath ran at a quick speed, sweating bullets under the weight of his armour. He bolted down a white stone-brick hallway, passing by banners of the Resistance and doors along the way.

His metallic boots hammered down upon the long, red carpet with each step. His mind could only wonder of the horrible things that went on outside the castle's walls, the fear his friends must be facing. He thought a lot about them, worried to death and beyond about their safety. He turned the corner, finally finding those double doors into the command room before him.

He couldn't run any faster, pushing his tired body almost past its limit. But then, he lunged his hands forward, turning the doorknob in a brisk motion. He swiftly pushed the door open, finding himself in a large, wine red room. The floor of white stone-brick, the five-and-a-half foot wide red carpet leading straight to a desk in the back of the room.

Behind that polished wood desk, a man in steel plated armour. Behind that man, that window that remained shattered after Shinon's attack. The man's hair was brown, its length to the middle of his neck. His face had a goatee, barely maintained. His eyes found the frantic soldier, at long last this Welton was able to rest.

Welton put his hands to his knees, his back hunched over as he tried to catch his breath. "Welton," the man in armour named. "Is everything all right?"

"Lord Audley...!" he called, forcing himself to call his name. "They...! We...!"

Audley jumped out of his seat, walking in haste over to Welton. "Catch your breath and calm yourself," he advised. "Tell me, what is going on?"

"...We're under attack," the soldier finally confessed. "...The gods, they're here!"

"I see," Audley understood, then placing his hand upon Welton's right shoulder. "Look, I need you to get everyone awake, tell them to head to the courtyard. We will gather there and meet with the gods."

"B-but..." the soldier stuttered tautly. "...What about the others? There are men fighting them right now!"
