"Come, my sister," his smiling face spoke softly to her. "Our people await your return." Believing that indeed his words resounded truth, the onyx-headed princess stepped forward. They made their move, going from the right side of the room to the left. Her brother came before, being a few steps in front of her.

The king's hand clenched onto the door's hand, greeting it with a twist. He pulled the door open, stepping off to its side. With his hand still upon the doorknob, he held his right hand towards the outside of the room. "After you," he politely told her, stepping aside to allow her first.

She did a quick bow, showing respect for her brother's courtesy. "Thank you," she thanked, then stepping beyond him. Once she cleared the room, she stopped and waited on her brother to close the door. Once he did, she and him walked down the adamas-encased hallway together. Their synchronized footsteps softly stomped upon the face of the majorelle blue floor.

There was a sense of preparedness, it assured Balor that all was right and true. Indeed, the king could determine that her return was sincere, that she truly wanted to be here. Step by step, the sense grew stronger, resonating in both of their hearts. The siblings passed by doors and the banners of the Imperial Kingdom that adorned the walls, a constant reminder of what this path before her held.

Finally, the two had reached the stairs. The stairs were wide enough to accommodate four people side-by-side. Their hands clenched onto their own sides of railing, Balor to the right and his sister to the left. A tall room hung over their heads, a small army of steps stretched out before them. Their flat, crystal heads was the ground that the siblings tread upon.

The baluster of the stairs looked straight until the top and bottom would spiral inward much like scrollwork. Since the stairs passed down floor to floor, they would come down upon landings. From the third floor to the second, the onyx-headed princess and her brother felt their destination near them. They came closer, drawing to the ground level.

At the end of the stair's arms, a statue of a noble face for each side. It was of the Hero King, Dias. He stood there at his height of six-feet-five-inches, wearing a regal set of armour fit for a king prepared for battle. A cape topped with fur as if he wore a large fox around his neck, armour clearly inspired by an eagle, and a crown held upon the head of many, yet perhaps was not worn better than by he.

The stairs behind them ended right in the heart of the carpet, the heart of the room. Beneath their feet, a dark red carpet. And exactly where they stood, the symbol of the Imperial Kingdom of Governanti -- its coat of arms in a sense. The field was half majorelle blue, half crimson red. It sat behind the image of two swords crossed like an X. One of which appeared similar to the Arbandor. Their blades pointed downwards, ending just outside of the field.

Behind the field, a large lion. Its head above the field, looking upwards with a left side view of its head. Its mouth appeared open, as it letting out a mighty roar. Its paws gripped the upper edges of the field. From its back sprung the wings of a bird, spanned upwards. On top of the field, a crown of blueish-white. Embedded in it was the many jewels of the king, gems of all colors.

They found themselves in the middle of the entrance room. About twenty feet in front of them, the double doors leading to the outside. Beside those doors, two members of the Loyal Knights. The room itself was a very large, open space. Its walls and ceiling of adamas, its blueish-white appearance glittering within the light.

The ceiling was tall, dangling over their heads like the sky. Banners colored in the mixture of purple and blue draped parts of the walls, upon it was the image of a black-sewn winged lion. They both turned to the left, walking towards the back of the staircase. The stairs that led from the second floor to the first floor were suspended, much like stairs held by the wall but they weren't.

There was a empty space between the floor and underneath of the stairs, where the door to the throne room was. To the suspended stairs that were closest to the ground, a large adamas statue of a man holding up the stairs. He was upon his knees, the stairs held up in his hands and down upon his back. His bald head was lowered as if he were bowing while carrying the burden of their world upon his shoulders.

The double doors into the throne room were open, and the two were greeted with a loud cheer as soon as they were seen. The throne room was filled to the brim with people, all eyes upon the duo. It was like a field of light, as though the world was illuminated by their gaze. Men, women, children, people of all ages congregated here today for this moment.

They stood to the sides of the long majorelle blue silk carpet path that led to the throne. Members of the Loyal Knights of the Royal Family stood erect, their bodies acting as the ridged, blackened-steel fence between the crowd and the royalty. Each member wore a decorated great helm with a winged lion statuette attached on the top of it.

Dauntless, the princess stepped forward. Her brother was at her back, throwing his life down like a lifeline if necessary. To their far right and left, stained glass windows that were the size of two men put together, they held the images of kings. A brilliant breadth of colored rays invaded the room, a beautiful kaleidoscope of light bleeding through the glass. It was as though a rainbow was captured by mortals, luminously cascading upon the path she and her brother walked.

The vivid rods of color were like spotlights, hitting the princess and the king with a warm feeling, but also with a reminder of the eyes that watched them. The images of former kings -- their father even -- shined upon them, appearing upon their bodies. With each soldier that they passed, they would clench their left hand into a fist and place it at the right side of their chest. The crowd so loud to speak their excitement, it was near impossible to even compose a pile of thoughts.

Still she felt no pressure, no disconcert, no fear. Her feet marched onward, certain of where they were going. At the end of their odyssey, five men: Gallows, the newly-appointed Orderer of the Loyal Knights Drakon, their uncle Momus, and two other men. Gallows and Drakon wore very similar armour to that worn by the other members of the Loyal Knights: a full body suit of black steel and that decorative great helm.

There was a difference between them and the others, both of them wore long, red capes. They stood on opposite sides of the steps to the throne, being the king's hands. Momus, dressed in a white, mid-thigh chiton, stood in front of the crowd. His dark tan skin was showcased through his clothing choice, a more traditional option for his kinsmen. Worn over his chiton, a light gray, heavy himation. He wore it over his left side, going down to his ankles.

His wrists were cuffed by adamas vambraces, his caligae sandals were made of the same material. The two other men wore a very similar attire to Momus', both carrying something very important. Momus too carried something important: an aged book. Housed within its mouth were hundreds upon hundreds of pages.

Behind Momus, the seven steps that led upwards to the throne. The adamas crystal that made this throne its own being. Against the wall, its tall standing rest. From its back, the wings of a bird that touched the western and eastern walls. Its lion face embedded close to the peak of the rest, its mighty paws at the end of the arms of the chair.

The princess stood before her uncle, who seemed somewhat questionable of her. He placed his right hand upon her left shoulder, hunching over very slightly. "Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?" the head of the Ruler's Counsel mumbled to her, able to blend his voice under the frantic shouts of his brethren.

"Yes, I am," she calmly answered.

"There's no turning back after this," Momus informed her. "You will be the eternal enemy of the Resistance -- of the entire human race -- just as all others before us. You will have to fight them, even Raphael."

She shook her head. "...I know," she assured him, setting her pale blue eyes down upon Momus' wrinkled face. "Don't worry, uncle. I know well what I'm getting myself into."

"...As you insist," he acknowledged, somewhat put off by her response. She then began to fall to her knees, clenching her left hand into a fist and pressing it up against the right side of her chest as she dropped. She bowed at Momus' feet, lowering her head and keeping it to the floor. Balor turned, his front facing her left side.

Momus turned his eyes to the crowd, raising his hand up into the air. "Silence! I beseech you all!" his booming voice yelled out all across the room. The cheers and voices of his brothers and sisters simmered down, giving him way to speak. All focused, they threw at Momus their absolute attention. Momus scrolled his eyes across the crowd, lowering his hand.

He was not the only one to keep his eyes upon the crowd. General Gallows and the Orderer of the Loyal Knights kept very tight watch. Their intense gaze fixed upon any single motion, even the slightest. Their hands held tightly upon their blades, just in case. So far, so good, they believed.

Momus then spanned his arms, opened like the wings at the back of the throne. "Today, we gather here for a single purpose," he spoke to the crowd, then his arms fell back down to his side. "It has been seven years since we last saw our princess, for she was taken from us by our enemies: the Lumbridge Resistance. But now, she has returned, free of their grasp. As it was brought into law by our ancestors, if a king cannot find his equal in the hand of another, then he is entitled to choose his own. And so, our purpose here is brought to us. And that is the declaration of our beloved princess as queen of the Imperial Kingdom of Governanti."

Momus stood over his brother's daughter, his light blue eyes beaming down at the back of her head. "It is by the decree of our king Balor Pallas Barn -- your brother -- that you are to become our queen," the king's brother went on. "As our queen, you must be willing and able to act in accordance to the our laws and orders. As our queen, you must be willing and able to work tirelessly to obtain our dream: our eternal utopia. As our queen, you must be willing and able to act as our sword and shield, thus protecting us from all threats to our civilization -- even if it must be protected with your body. Do you accept these terms?"

Ready to live in this cruel, harsh world while wielding a specter, she shook her head. "I do," she affirmed. Momus heard her confirm her acceptance, turning to one of the men dressed much like him. He stepped to that man, whom had a very important object clenched with great pride in his hands.

The man bowed his head, handing this important object to Momus. It was a long, metal scabbard, decorated with many glided knot-like designs. Within it, an adamas blade. The sword's pommel was large, its cross-guard appeared as the wings of a bird. The hilt also had a knuckle bow, one that appeared like vines going down from the cross-guard to the pommel.

Momus recoiled back into his original position, standing over her. His light blue eyes looked upon the face of the sheathed blade. "This is Eshenel, the sister of Arbandor," he told her. "You shall take this blade, princess, pass it through your skin. Let it run with the royalty that trickles in your blood, as it has with the blood of all others before you."

The princess looked up at him, holding her hands up. Momus gently handed her the sheathed blade, she pulled it from him. Her eyes closed, she began to slowly awaken the blade from its slumber. pulling the blade from the scabbard. She put the side of the blade to her left hand, sluggishly slicing the blade down her empty palm.

She had created a deep cut from in between her middle and ring finger straight down until her wrist. Blood oozed out from the red line, light reflected off of its crimson visage. It ran with its freedom, gone was that domain that bounded it to the same path. Momus opened that book of which he held, flipping through its weathered pages.

Each page contained words of black, its message as if decreed in stone. The blood of whomever swore to this pact was swiped across each page he passed. Many familiar names went by his scrolling hand, which included his own father, mother, and brother. Momus had finally found the first of the blank pages, a right paper next to the blood vow made by Balor. Written in the lower right hand corner was her full name.

"You know the words which adorn these pages," Momus firmly believed, holding the opened book out to his niece. "Speak them, recite his final words! Pledge to all of those in attendance your loyalty, your life!"

Her onyx-haired head lowered and eyes closed, she reached her bleeding hand up for the book. She planted her hand as flat as she could, allowing her blood to stain the page's skin. ""I give to it, the blood that flows through me,"" she began to quote. ""I give to it, the soul that deems me an individual. I give to it, the heart that calls me among the living. To what is it, you wonder. It is us ; as a race, as a family, as a whole. We are one, never apart, from now unto eternity.""

Momus slowly pulled the book away from her bleeding hand, his eyes investigating the red seal. He approved, then turned to the other man dressed like him. He saw, in the man's hands, the object of which he required. They then exchanged, the book for that very object. Momus turned backwards, facing that crowd once again.

Secured in both of his hands, he raised it up as high as he could for all to see. It was a crown, its body made of adamas. There were no arches or raised points, being but a band around one's head. It had twenty-two gorgeous gemstones embedded in it, and the face of a lion at its front. Momus' light-blue eyes gazed upon the crown. "Before the eyes of the people and the eyes of our kings above, I hereby declare Lucia Gaiane Barn as Queen of the Imperial Kingdom of Governanti!" he solemnly pronounced, placing the crown gently on top of her head.

Still, she stood stiff upon her knees, even as she started to feel the crown be lowered upon her head. But now she felt this burden, the burden she only could imagine until now. "Rise, queen," he advised her. "Rise and face your subjects."

Slowly she rose, her motion stopping for not even a moment. She stood straight up, her head tilted slightly upwards. Her feet then began to turn, moving just enough so that she could look behind her. She twisted her torso, her eyes opening as she turned to them. Looking now at those who looked at her, Lucia's blue eyes cast out light.

Momus dropped to his knees. "Glory to the name of Queen Lucia!" he acclaimed. "May she deliver us a world we've never known!" So humbled by her presence alone, all in attendance grew weak in the knees: the people, the priests; the guards even. Everyone just dropped, collapsing like monuments brought down by decay and age. All had fallen to their knees, their heads lowered by the draw of her power.

Balor himself even was found to be so very weakened, he too was brought to his knees. Everyone in the room showed their most modest respect for their new queen, made to bow by her gaze singlehandedly. Lucia stared out to them, feeling the weight of this kingdom fall down upon her. The feeling of duty that encumbered her came, but it also came with a sense and feeling of power... absolute, unending power.

Lucia's return was perhaps the dawn of a new world for the Imperial Kingdom. Regardless of its changes, her reign was one her fellow kinsmen truly felt blessed by. Shattered she was by the thought of all the devastation she caused the Resistance, but such thoughts were mere skeletons in the closet. Thrown in a chest pushed off in the corner to gather dust, she left those things behind... never to be seen ever again.

They welcomed her, that onyx-haired woman, into their fold. Time flew quickly, and all had returned to their days. Their ireful voices lashing in earnest, whipping at the backs of their destitute slaves. Their distraught faces, hopelessly repeating each menial task, their spirits broken and bodies battered.

An hour or two since her crowning, Lucia stood all alone in her room. Her eyes gazed out to the world, able to see the light from her eyes reflect from the glass. It was such a strange thing, to know now she welcomed these glowing eyes. Something she had to get used to, she thought. Her eyes fluttered about, scrolling all through this city.

She then found herself watching those below her, as she always did. She saw the market district alive with people and activity, the air that was charged with energy. The influx of trade in and out of the city, the hustle and bustle of their daily lives, a world miles different from Lumbridge. Those in this district, grinning as they took in profit gained through the blood, sweat, and tears of another.

She saw them, the human slaves. The pain carved and agony etched into their faces, the fear that sent them to scatter. They were forced to work until their bodies gave out... and even beyond that. It didn't matter if she looked or turned away, her eyes were drawn to that place. She was forced to watch, as though her eyelids were nailed to her forehead.

Lucia's ears then caught the sound of footsteps popping into the air just outside her door. She then heard a tap, and then another just behind it, at her door. She then turned, her face finding the door. "You can come in," the queen permitted.

The door then slowly pushed open, revealing her uncle to her. His light blue eyes then found her, then a light and proud smile was born upon his face. "Hello, Lucia," he politely greeted.

"Oh, hello," she replied. "Sorry, I was expecting brother. What brings you here?"

"Tending to your wound," he answered, closing the door behind him. "Come, let's close it up."

"Oh," she responded, a tad surprised. She watched as her uncle began walking over to the table in the center of the room. "You needn't trouble yourself, uncle. It'll probably heal up rather quickly on its own."
