He then turned to his right, walking down a long narrow stretch of pathway walled by steel bars. His footsteps clapped against the cold stone floor, echoing throughout this place. He grew closer to the end of the pathway, which was ended with a doorway which behind it held stairs. Gallows was aiming for the final cell to the right and the young boy housed within it.

He was there, lying waking upon his bed. His black irises staring up at the ceiling, he was able to see the bumpy detail of the ceiling due to the torch right next to the doorway beside his cell. It was still quite murky, the air thick with humidity. His bed, laying in the upper right corner of his cell. It laid horizontal in the cell, the foot of it pointing towards the bars of the cell.

A faulty sink constantly dripping droplets of water every single chance it got was to his far left. A stomach-turning stench of death and rot was horrific, but it was one that the boy had become accustomed with. He heard the footsteps grow in size, quickly sitting up to greet whoever came for him.

From the left, the boy was able to make out the figure. It was General Gallows. The darkened expression on the boy's face lightened up, quickly hopping out from his bed and rushing over to the front. "Mister Sergius!" named the boy. Even from across the room, Shinon could clearly hear his brother's voice. His heart skipped a beat, his face overwhelmed with emotion.

Gallows' sky blue eyes gazed upon the short boy, smiling lightly as the boy greeted him. The boy's hands wrapped themselves around the bars of his cell, looking up at Gallows with a gleeful appearance. Gallows then reached his hand into the cell and placed it upon the boy's head. "Hello little one," he responded.

Gallows' hand stood upon dark brownish-red hair that was short and unkempt. The boy was about four-feet tall and weighed slightly less than he should. He appeared to be around ten or eleven years of age. His eyes, of course, resembled those of his brother's. His clothing was a mix between dark tan and dark orange, his shirt was short-sleeve and rather ragged.

Though, any rips were stitched up. His pants were mid-calf length, on his feet he wore loafers of weathered leather. Gallows then looked down at Rolf, who stared up at him with eagerness. "Hey, so listen," the scar-faced general whispered kindly. "I've got a surprise for you. I think you're going to like it."

"A surprise? Really!?" the boy frantically replied, bouncing happily in place.

Gallows shook his head, mumbling a noise from under his lips to confirm. Gallows then turned to his right, looking back from whence he came. "You can come over now," the general shouted from across the room. His left hand then reached for the door into the boy's cell, the cell's release in hand.

Shinon began retracting the pathway drawn up by Gallows, literally following in his footsteps. Rolf's ears were peeled, listening to the deep sounding steps crash with each of his breaths. There was the sound of chains echoing to the boy, confirming that it was a prisoner of some form. Gallows had unlocked the room, pulling it open for the archer who approached. The red-haired archer appeared before the cell door, finally coming into the boy's view.

The second he laid eyes upon him, Rolf fell to tears. His lips quivered, his black eyes gazing upon the face of a person he's grown to love. Shinon stared down his brother, shocked and overwhelmed just as much as the boy. The boy sniffed, attempting with all of his strength to hold his emotions. "B-brother..." Rolf softly spoke, his voice a stutter.

Shinon dropped down to his knees, a smile finally cracking onto that stern mask that he never seemed to take off. "Hey," he mumbled back.

Rolf then quickly bolted forward, charging to his brother at a neck-breaking pace. The boy then threw his arms around the person he hadn't seen in a very long time. It was a loving embrace, a sort of emotion this coldhearted archer hadn't felt just as long. "Brother!" Rolf finally cried, letting all of his emotions go.

Shinon was just as quick to be moved to tears, his eyes watering. He accepted his brother's hug, wrapping his arms around Rolf too. His left hand to the back of the boy's head, his right hand to the middle of his back. The red-headed archer never wanted this moment to end. He wanted to hold him, to protect him for all of eternity in his arms. But he knew that he still had more that he needed to do before then.

With the situation that would make one flutter around in joy before him, Gallows knew that the archer could make a move at any given moment. He had his hand upon the handle of his sword at all times. After a minute of cries of joy and happiness, Rolf pulled off of his brother but kept him close by almost like a teddy bear.

The boy then shuffled his head, looking for something or someone else. "Hey brother," he wondered. He then turned his eyes back to him after a very thorough search. "where's sister?"

Shinon had to pause for a moment, his smile falling from his face. As the memories of that day atop the castle back at Lumbridge reawakened the fury and hatred in his heart, he knew that he couldn't tell the boy the truth. His eyes fell down, and the boy could sense the red-hot presence about Shinon. The look in his eyes, the absolute yearning for vengeance.

Indeed, telling Rolf the reality would crush him. Shinon reconfigured himself, his smile once again reposing on his face. He looked back at the boy, the fury vaguely still there. "Uh... Mister Sergius here could only let one of us visit you." he told Rolf, a lie that he hoped the boy would buy. "And it was very nice of him to even allow it since it's against the rules."

"Oh, okay," the boy acknowledged, disappointed but understanding. He then looked up at Gallows, his great big smile enough to warm the ice around any heart. "Thanks very much, Mister Sergius!"

"Of course," said Gallows, shuffling his eyes. "Please hurry this along though. I know not when others will come around."

Regardless of how much he wished to rip the boy from his imprisonment, he was heavily outnumbered. Regardless of how much he wished to shout at Gallows for rushing him, he had to keep himself aligned. Shinon kept the brightness on his face well lit, not letting the light let up for a single moment. "You remember what I told you, right?" Shinon asked.

"That no matter what, keep hope alive so that one day we may live like we're alive, right?"

Shinon shook his head. "Right," he confirmed. "I'm gonna get you outta here real soon, okay?"

Rolf shook his head. "Okay," he replied, optimistic. He knew that his brother was never one to take back his word, so he completely believed him with all of his heart.

Shinon stood up onto his feet, hunching over slightly and placing his right hand on the crown of the boy's head. "I love you. You believe me, don't you?"

Rolf quickly shook his head. "O-of course!" the boy almost angrily assured.

Shinon closed his eyes, relieved. "Good," he returned, his right hand lifting off of the boy's head. He then turned around, walking out of the cell. Gallows then closed the door, beginning the process of locking it. With a click to affirm, the door was now locked. Shinon looked back at Rolf, letting out one final smile as he did. "See ya around, kiddo."

After that, Shinon began walking forwards with Gallows just behind him. They left the boy to himself, he was reasonably saddened by the whole thing. But he was grateful, glad that he actually got to see his brother after all those years. With the sorrow still flowing from his eyes, Rolf returned to his bed. Indeed, he held his brother's words to his heart and kept them well guarded.

The two walked down the pathway of steel bars, all cells housed some kind of corpse rotting away and even a few criminals who kept their silence. Gallows and Shinon then walked side-by-side, the archer couldn't help but to look at the general and question his motives. "What exactly are you planning?" questioned Shinon quietly.

"I don't know what you mean," he answered.

"Don't give me that crap," Shinon returned, his voice knife-like. "You gods aren't the sort to give. So I don't understand why you'd go behind your king's back and let me see Rolf."

"He wanted to see you, so I let him see you." replied Gallows, giving the archer a rather simple response. "Seeing a man fully grown suffer is hard enough, but watching a child suffer is far more difficult."

"Oh please," said Shinon. "you're lying through your teeth."

"You speak as though I'm some kind of sadist,"

"That's because you are," the archer snapped back. "I've heard all about the ruthless 'General Gallows'. Speaking to the crowd like killing people's some kinda spectacle. Yeah, what a real nice guy you are."

The two then approached the door that led back to Shinon's cell. Shinon walked right in with no pause, the general closed the gate behind him. He then began locking the door, staying silent as he did. That familiar click assured the general that the prisoner was bound here. Gallows' sky blue eyes then slowly lifted off of the door, staring at Shinon's face. "I know I've done a lot of evil... but it is my duty to serve my masters. I am—"

"—Oh, don't hide behind that trash." Shinon quickly riposted, interrupting the general. "You can chant all you want about 'loyalty' and 'duty', but I can tell just by looking at you. You're not some kinda brave soldier for this kingdom. Nah... you're just a big coward using those words like a shield, to protect yourself."

Gallows closed his eyes. "You're entitled to your opinion," said Gallows, unfazed by Shinon's words. "I will not attempt to justify my actions to you. And you'd best learn to mind yourself, human. Remember your place."

"Whatever you say," he shrugged, flopping on top of his bed. He then folded his arms, hiding his hands behind his head.

Gallows then turned away from the archer. "Don't forget our deal," the scar-faced general reminded. "You are to assist by any means with the capture of Soter the Savior. We will contact you once we've confirmed Uriel's location."

"Yeah, yeah..." Shinon replied, his voice sounded annoyed but somewhat in a daze. Gallows then began to walk away, leaving behind the red-haired archer to himself. "Ain't like I'm going anyway..." The archer was then alone, knowing that the boy he loved so dearly was right there near him. His heart reminisced upon the few minutes he spent with his brother, the urge to break free grew in power at each moment. Though as much as he'd like to try, he knew an escape would be unsuccessful. He laid there in the darkness, waiting now for the next opportunity he'd get.

In the northern portion of the southeastern section of the city, which of course was the area of city that housed the slaves and Governanti Resistance's HQ, Daevarro walked into one of the buildings. It was one of the many houses that humans occupied all those years ago. The house was rather hollow and crumbling, a forsaken residence where someone once lived.

The parlor was the first room Daevarro stepped into, it still looked like a place where people would gather. All the furniture was there, a few wooden chairs a top of a blue hessian rug that had edges of white frills. The center of that rug was burnt away, but the remains of a Saradomin star were there. Its points just barely there to make out. One of the chairs' legs were broken in half, making the chair stand hunched over.

Those chairs and carpet were before a collapsed fireplace, allowing the orange light to pour into the house. A right arm with a skeletal appearance was coming through from underneath the rubble, still wearing clothing as if it were living there causally. The poor soul beneath that rubble looked like they were desperately reaching for something, but they couldn't grab it in time.

Daevarro stepped further into the room, he paused when his foot stepped onto something. His hazel eyes then flipped down onto that object, seeing the image of a very happy family look back at him. It was a portrait which told the tale of a family who once lived. It whispered its story, the fate of a family who was killed by the gods. It was a mother, a son, a little daughter, and a father. All who were smiling so very merrily, it seemed like their lives were perfect.

Daevarro reached down, grasping his hand upon the portrait and began staring at it with detail. Although it was very dusty, the impact of the image caught the dark-robed young man like he were a rabbit trapped in a snare. His face darkened, his heart aching. His eyes then shuffled to his left, glancing upon another skeleton.

It was clear that this was a skeleton of a woman, still wearing her clothing from that day. What was also clear to Daevarro or to anyone around, the iniquity of those of his blood reached far beyond mere murder. She wore dark green unbuttoned cotehardie on top of a white chemise, which had been sliced open.

Her skull was fractured on its right side, her hands almost looked like they required an expert puzzle-solver in order to mend back together. Daevarro then walked over to the most back wall of the parlor, there was a small rusty iron nail embedded in the center of the wall. Daevarro then wiped the dust off of the picture, hanging the portrait where it rightfully belonged to restore a sense of normalcy.

He stepped back from the portrait, taking a moment as he stared upon the image. He then walked further into the house, his footsteps barking a rather hollow wooden thud. His eyes continued to shuffle all around, looking upon the despair and devastation that the humans had to endure. Daevarro then found a staircase, he then began walking up it.

The staircase eerily creaked with each step, it was barely enough to support him. He reached the upstairs, before him was a small hallway. At the end of the hallway was a room, its door barely standing. But to Daevarro's right, there was a room with its door kicked in. Daevarro proceeded to turn into that room, standing now in a room with two single-sized beds.

On top of the front most bed was a pile of the ceiling, which had partially collapsed in this room. The room was just long enough to support two beds, which were horizontal in front of Daevarro. There was a wall in front of the feet of the bed, there was just enough space for an adult to squeeze through. There were a few windows, which were closed.

The same portrait was on the wall at the feet of the bed, it hung crookedly. Daevarro's eyes then turned to his left, gazing into a small closet with a door barely hanging on for dear life. And in that closet, two more skeletons covered in cobwebs. One taller than the other, they were leaning against the wall. The taller skeleton's arms were partially wrapped around the little one.

They were still in their normal clothing, the taller skeleton wearing a light red tunic and brown breeches. The little one was wearing a green dress with a laced up front. Laying just in front of the two was a Saradomin star which had been tied to a necklace, the star was smashed into pieces. The position of the two looked like the taller one was attempting to confront and protect the little one, guarding them with their life.

Daevarro then painfully reminisced, closing his eyes to watch the memories fill his head like the pages of a book. A tear then rolled down his face, but he realized that remembering those things now will only hinder what he's come to do. Pushing his feelings aside was no easy task though, it was a upheave, hiking up a very steep mountain of emotions.

The dark-robed young man then turned away from the skeletons, walking out of the room. He then went to the next room down the narrow hallway, which would have been the parents' bedroom. A large, queen-sized bed in the central-north of the room. The head of the bed up against a wall. Daevarro sat down upon this bed, folding his legs criss-crossed.

There in complete concentration, focusing rather hard on a single memory. It was the appearance of one of his enemies, the one calling himself king. Right in front of him, black mist began to form into a shape, little by little piecing into a figure. It formed from the ground up. It shaped feet, legs, hands, arms, a torso, a neck, a head, and even a face.

But this shadow was no longer a shadow, it looked just like the king himself. A figure of Balor, almost persuading enough to call Balor, stood in front of Daevarro. Daevarro looked up at his work, gazing upon the face of the figure. From his memory of Balor, he was able to dictate what was off and what wasn't.

He did notice a very slight difference in the jawline, it was a bit stronger than Balor's. But nevertheless, an almost perfect clone. As he practiced his clone creation, somebody would come to him. The window in the room was opened... well, rather the window in the room was broken. The glass was all over the floor.

This person hopped into the room, their hand barely avoiding the glass remnants of the window. Anabel landed onto her feet, she stared towards Daevarro. "Hey—" Anabel greeted, but then suddenly her voice froze when she saw Daevarro's shadow figure of Balor. She quickly got her hand around her daggers, her face tensed up.

Daevarro frantically waved his hands from side-to-side, calling for an immediate surrender. "Wait, wait!" he quickly responded. "This isn't actually Balor, it's a clone I made of him! See..." Daevarro then closed his eyes and began to seriously concentrate. The shadow clone then spun towards Anabel and began to dance in place.

With his arms spanned out, Balor pulled his hands just to the height of his head and began kicking his feet. He then went into a twirl, spinning in a complete three-sixty. Then he returned to his previous position, rinse and repeat. Anabel blinked twice, her intense expression given way to a plain look that she didn't know what to think. "Oh..." she muttered. She loosened up, clenching her right hand onto her chest as a sigh whispered out from her lips. "Don't scared me like that..."

Daevarro chuckled. "Sorry," the young man apologized as he laughed.
