Raphael's left hand steadily held onto the sword his father used. Raphael's legs were split apart from each other, his sword was handled in the reversed position. His back was slightly hunched over as his eyes peered upon the face of the general. "You can tell your king that all of this fighting is senseless," replied Raphael. "And if he had a single percent of care in him about his people, he should immediately stop his actions against us."

Gallows had a light laughter that kept it's self hidden behind his mouth. "Please, boy," said Gallows, his voice sounded like he could burst out in laughter at any second. "Lord Balor isn't as weakhearted as his father. Unlike Divus, King Balor will not relent simply because he is told to."

"Then that's his mistake," responded Raphael. The young leader quickly took a step forward, readying his sword for an attack. Once within close range, Raphael swung his blade down upon the general. Gallows quickly defended himself, pulling his blade up to guard Raphael's attack. The two stood toe-to-toe, their blades colliding with each other in a power struggle.

Gallows continued to wear the same amused look on his face. "Don't you learn from anything, boy?" questioned Gallows. "Your fragile human body won't last a few seconds against me!"

"I'm sure this time will be different," confidently replied Raphael. The young leader quickly jumped to the right, his body rolling like a barrel while falling back down. He landed perfectly on his feet, he was now positioned at Gallows' left side. Raphael quickly sliced his sword towards his right, the tip of his blade aiming to slash the side of Gallows' neck.

With only one option to defend himself, Gallows pulled his left forearm in front of the incoming blade before it reached his neck. The blade dug into the general's forearm, his teeth fastened together. Gallows then swung his sword, aiming for Raphael's head. The young leader pulled his blade out of the general and dropped down onto his knees.

The blades glided by Raphael's head, his hair flipping to the right by the winds carried by Gallows' strike. Raphael then launched his right foot forward, aiming for Gallows' left shin. Raphael's boot hits the very front of the shin, pushing Gallows' left leg backwards. The general became off-balanced, he tried to recover.

He then crash landed down onto the ground, falling hard on his left shoulder. Raphael then propelled his body up into the air, he sailed across the sea of oxygen with grace. He landed perfectly onto his feet, he stood firmly and solid on his feet. Once on his feet, he quickly flipped his blade to be in the regular position. He then readied it to fall down upon the general.

He jabbed his blade forward, the tip of the sword falling down upon Gallows with a sharp glare. Gallows quickly rolled his body to his right, attempting to dodge the blade. The blade punctured the wooden boards, missing Gallows by a fingernail. The general quickly stood up onto his feet after he barely missed death.

He stood slightly hung over, his face a mask of seriousness and anger. "I will not let a pathetic being like you make a fool out of me," Gallows growled under his breath, the ire blowing in his voice. The general then came charging forward, his footsteps thundered across the wood with the beat of a drumroll. Gallows fiercely hurled his sword down upon the young leader with all of his might.

Raphael quickly sidestepped the attack, hopping to his right to dodge. The sword smashed across the ground where Raphael once stood, pulling up boards of woods once it hit. The wood was now a empty battlefield with barricades of buckled wood, arrows of rusty nails, and blades of splinters. Quickly, Gallows pulled his blade out of the ground and readied it for another attack.

He swung the giant blade from the right to the left, still aiming for Raphael's head. The young leader leaped backwards, backflipping to dodge the attack. While hanging upside down, the woman who still had the noose around her neck was right by Raphael's left. He quickly swung his blade at the rope that bounded the woman to the gallows.

The tip of the blade slashed the artery of the wooden borderline between life and death, the woman being spared. She then began falling behind her, landing hard upon her back. Much like the man, she was incredibly weak and exhausted. Raphael barely dodged the attack made by the enraged Gallows but he did land firmly on his feet.

Raphael looked upon the general with focus and ready, his blade tightly gripped in his left hand. Gallows' face spoke out his frustration with a microphone, his eyes bled oceans of rancor. Just as Gallows was about to make yet another attack upon the young leader, the general felt a sudden pain suddenly shoot down his back.

It was a piercing pain. Gallows immediately knew exactly where it came from. It was an arrow that was shot in the dead center of his back. He dropped down onto his knees, his legs felt like jelly. They were unable to carry the weight of the general. His gaze glared up at the top of the rooftop where she was. "Blasted cur," he angrily mumbled.

Gallows fought with all of his might to stand up onto his feet. Slowly, he starts to gain ground. After a half of a minute, he stood tall and in pain on his feet. His eyes glaring up at the archer. Elena stared back at him, her face completely unfazed by his stare. As Gallows was staring at Elena, Anabel and Fionnlagh easily handled the knights that they had to battle.

Anabel dodged an attack made by the knight, leaning her upper body backwards to evade the blade aiming for her throat. She then leaned back forward, her dagger saw the opportunity presented to her. Her dagger was handled in the reversed position, she raised it up to about the height of her chin. The former assassin then plunged the dagger's blade forward, it aimed for the front of the knight's throat.

The dagger impaled the man's throat, going straight through his esophagus and windpipe. His eyes became very broad once he realized that his life was very much gone. The deathblow that he worked so hard to avoid had finally found him. Blood dripped from the wound, falling down upon the ground like teardrops.

Anabel pulled her dagger out of the man's throat. The knight began to fall down, his final thoughts were coming together. Maybe dying wasn't exactly a bad thing to the man. Leaving this cruel and horrible world was a good thing. He hit the ground hard on his back, his last seconds of life came like a flash before his eyes.

Fionnlagh made short work of his enemy, impaling his sword into the stomach of the knight. His white as paper blade was bathed in crimson. But something else had taken the attention of the buzz-cut man. His light blue irises flipped to his left, his ears captured a herd of footsteps that charged in their direction.

This warrior knew exactly what that meant. "Everybody," he yelled out to. "We need to leave now! Reinforcements are coming and they'll be here within a few minutes!"

Raphael shook his head. "Got it," acknowledged Raphael. He rushed over to the woman who he cut from the gallows. Raphael pointed his right index finger towards the man. "Fionnlagh, I need you to get him!"

Fionnlagh shook his head. "Understood," he replied, responding to his master's orders. He raced over to the man. While on the way to the man, the white knight sheathed his sword. It was placed in a case that was strapped to his back. Raphael quickly sheathed his blade, placing it back in it's place to the left side of his hip.

He then began to lift the young woman, holding onto her as if he were giving her a piggyback ride. He threw her tied arms around his head. Fionnlagh got to the side of the man, he picked him up with just his right arm. He threw the man up onto his shoulders. Once that was done, Fionnlagh began running forward. His footsteps ran away from the gallows.

On the rooftops, Elena and Uriel began running and jumping from rooftop and rooftop. They knew that they had to get away from there as quickly as they could. Fionnlagh raced to the south and towards a road that would lead out of the city, this is to ensure that the kingdom does not think that there is a base here in the city. Once he passed her, Anabel followed just behind him.

Gallows glared to each individual of the resistance. "You think you can just take off and leave!?" he shouted at the top of his lungs. "I AM General Gallows, I AM NOT a man to be-" Suddenly, an unexpected drop-in slammed like a freight train onto Gallows. The Talon Beast stood on top of the general, keeping him down.

Telvern stood just before the gallows, his eyes gazing with pity upon the general. "Oh, shut up," said Telvern. The young genius then turned towards the area where everybody was heading to. "Coming, Raphael?"

Raphael shook his head. "Yes," he replied. The young man then began running towards the south, the exact way everybody else was going. They were running down a long straight roadway that was void of any people. As Raphael was running, his ears catch a weak whimper coming from the woman. His eyes flipped to the woman's head that laid on his right shoulder. "Hello?" he spoke. "Are you awake?"

Her eyes slowly pulled open, her vision was a bit blurry. She gazed upon the kind and warming face of the young leader, Raphael. "Who," she spoke softly. "Who...are you?"

His eyes flipped back onto the path set in front of him. "I'm Raphael Béla," he answered, introducing himself. "May I ask what is your name, ma'am?"

"Maria," the woman answered with a low voice. "Maria Isaiah."

"Pleased to meet you," Raphael replied. "Hang on, okay? We're going to get you out of here."

"My brother..." she spoke, her voice a bit more raised. "Where is he?"

"You needn't worry," stated Raphael. "He will be just fine, my friend Fionnlagh has him."

"Are you..." Maria mumbled. "Are you with the resistance?"

Raphael paused for a moment, thinking whether or not he should tell her about them. But the confidence and assurance that he is proud of who he is shined like a beacon in his heart. He shook his head. "Yes," he answered. "If you'd like, you and your brother can join us once this is all over."

Maria let out a light smile. "I think..." she mumbled. "...We'd like that."

Raphael smiled. "I'm glad," he replied. As Telvern ran right next to Raphael, he began to feel a great wave of weakness overcome him. His teeth quickly fastened together as bullets of sweat rushed down his head. Raphael looked over at the young genius with concern. "Telvern, are you all right?"

Telvern kept on going despite the sudden loss of strength. He shook his head, answering the young leader. "Yes," he quickly answered. "It would appear that Gallows has overcome my beast."

Raphael quickly turned his head back in front of him. "Then I suppose we need to vanish quickly," he stated. Back at where the resistance left, the truth of what Telvern believed was really quite true. Gallows stood before the lifeless beast as it disappeared into a white light. The general had many cuts across his body after battling the beast but he was victorious.

He panted heavily, his face showcased his anger. All around him, knights ran in every direction. They searched for the resistance which had fled the scene. From behind the general, the uncle of the king walked forward. He had his hands behind his back and his eyes forward. "Quite troublesome these humans are," said Momus. "They even made the almighty General Gallows look like a child."

General Gallows flipped his vision over to Momus. He seemed angered by what the head of the Ruler's Counsel had to say about this loss. "Hold your judgment, Momus," responded Gallows, his vision turning to the way that the resistance came and left from. "Very soon, it shall be they who look like children."

Chapter 8: Tower Offense

With the fierce tension that electrified the air finally coming to rest, a frantic search sprouted like a cherry blossom tree. It's pedals were discharged all across Governanti, looking for the traitors who ran from their grip. Knights scattered, they desperately fished for the ones that got away. They questioned each and every single being outside and knocked on each door with the hope of finding the resistance.

Within their shelter, the resistance all sat down in the entrance room. All of them were exhausted from the events that took place just an hour ago. Against the western wall, Raphael sat down on the floor with his back leaning against the wall. He panted as drips of sweat fell down from the sides of his head.

Just to his right was the young woman who he and his comrades came to rescue. Her name was Maria Isaiah. Her body and mind were taxed from the events of today, her energy almost entirely bled dry. She sat just a foot from where Raphael sat, her face gazed down at the floor with a blank expression.

Fionnlagh stood by the south wall, he made sure he was just beside the door in case the knights decided to come knocking. Uriel was sitting down to the eastern wall, his left knee was bent upward with his left arm resting on top of it. His arm cloak covered his left arm pretty well. His right leg laid straight forward out in front of him. His eyes were a glare, they couldn't help but to be tempted by the sight of the resistance's newest recruit.

Telvern was five feet from the boy, his legs were criss-crossed like a pretzel. He couldn't care less at this point about the newest members of the resistance, he was more focused on his reading. Though his body was still weakened from the death of his familiar, he has mostly shaken it off. Anabel stood just five feet from the door into the building, her hearing listening to the outside.

All throughout the city, the sound of a alarmed church bell rang. It's gentle scream cried to everyone that a state of emergency has been placed. It tells everyone that the Imperial Kingdom has failed once again in the capturing of the elusive resistance. Away from the room and through the west wing was the medic room.

The room was as long as a bus and was seventy-three inches wide. The walls were made of a dark brown oak wood that's edges were trimmed with a dark orange wood. The floors were made with a gray tile. All around the room were cabinets stuffed with supplies and beds which would rest the injured. But the room was almost entirely hallow, with only two people inside of it: Elena and Shinon.

Shinon laid down on the bed closest to the door, he still seemed unconscious. Elena stood over him, she stared down upon his face. In her right hand was a bloody rag and in her left hand was a bottle of medicine. The man had a bandage tied around his head, the right side of it was a bit bloody but it was quite minor.

Elena turned her body away from the archer and she began walking over to the cabinet behind her. Her footsteps tapped against the tile as she approached the maple wood. The faint sound clipping to him, the man's eyes peel slightly open. He grunted as his blurred vision gazed up at the ceiling. Elena's ears catch the ball of sound, she disposed of the bloody rag and placed the medicine in the right side of the cabinet.

She quickly turned around, she was now facing Shinon. Her pale blue irises took a hold of his face, she confirmed to herself that he was finally awake. Her legs then began to walk forward, stepping closer and closer to him. A light smile rose like the grace of the sun upon her face. "You're awake," she said with glee. "I'm glad to see that."
