This window was wide, from one side of the narrow room to the other. The frame of the window was in the shape of a lion, the very symbol of the Imperial Kingdom. Just in front of that window, there was a desk made of yew wood. There was a long forest green silk cloth laid on top of the center of that desk.

The bit of the cloth that was dangling down in the front of the desk had the head of the wolf howling, the sign of the earl. On top of the desk had many papers and quills inside an black ink bottle. There was a man sitting behind this desk in a very comfortable looking chair. He seemed to be about 6'3 feet tall and slightly above average weight.

His hair was gray and he had some balding on the top portion of his head. But overall it was long and kept in a braided ponytail. He had a full beard with the hair on above his upper lip being removed. Along the right side of his face was a long and tale-telling scar. And he did look rather old, he had many wrinkles including crow's feet and frown lines.

His eyes were Cerulean blue and his irises faintly glowed, implying that he was a god. His facial expression seemed intense, almost on the verge of fury. He wore a forest green doublet with worked buttons and a matching robe. His high collar is worn open at the top in a french fashion. The robe had a pattern on it, it resembled many golden lines going down that had golden lines going diagonally through those straight lines.

His sleeves were sort of puffed and at the edge of his sleeves were frills embroidered with blackwork. On his left ring finger was a golden ring with a piece of adamas in the center of it. For his pants, he wore knee length forest green breeches that too were quite puffed. His breeches had the same sort of pattern as his robe. At the end of his breeches, he wore white hoses all the end to the tips of his toes. There, he wore forest green clogs that were made of velvet.

There was another man in front of his desk, a familiar face to the Ruler's Counsel. His name is Lanius Delmos, member of the Ruler's Counsel. He stood in front of the desk, his arms were crossed and his face was a mask of frustration. "You know it will happen, Maurine," said Lanius. "Eventually, Lord Balor will find out of our plan and put his boot to our throats."

The earl glared up at the counsel member. "And do you really believe I haven't realized that," angrily growled Maurine. "Bah, this is ridiculous! How long does it take to send a stupid messenger with a message...!?"

Lanius shook his head. "Yes," agreed the counsel member. "One can only wonder what is taking that stuck-up child so long..."

"It's pathetically sickening," stated the earl. "How CAN WE, a race of far superior beings, be at a forty year war with humans, a weak and inferior race!? I cannot even begin to understand..."

"Soon, my lord," said Lanius. "Once 'His Majesty' replies back to us, this will all be over. Trust me, my lord."

Maurine jumped out of his chair, he then began walking towards the window. His hands then folded behind his back. "I hope you're right, Lanius," responded the earl. Out of the earl's room and to the great outdoors, the western archer's tower was secretly in the occupation of the Lumbridge Resistance. The archers who once controlled this tower have been rendered unconscious, they laid on the ground as if they were sleeping.

On the bottom floor of the tower, all those who do not use archery stood at the sides of the door into the tower. They waited to ambush anybody who entered. The room was pretty empty, besides several barrels, several unconscious bodies, and the spiral staircase leading to the top floor. Telvern sat on top of a barrel, reading one of his many books that he carried in his book pouch.

Sitting right beside him was a Spirit Kyatt, it sat calmly right next to him without making a single noise besides the occasional yawn. It's ears listened to make sure if anybody was coming as well as it's nose. Raphael and Maria stood at the right side of the door while Uriel was at the left. They waited to surprise anyone who came their way.

The young boy with the arm cloak seemed distracted by his distrust of the newly recruited. His turquoise irises gazed up at the long spiraling staircase that almost looked like it went up to heaven. He didn't seem comfortable that she was alone with that man. After about a half of a minute of looking up, his eyes fell back down to the earth and regained their focus back onto the situation at hand.

All the way at the top of the spiraling staircase and at the crown of the tower, the two archers stood with the readiness to make the shot. Elena had her bow held out in front of her with an arrow at her ready. It was pulled back as far as she could get it, the shot was at a very awkward angle for the young archer. She struggled to put the shot together. Shinon watched from right next to her, looking to see if she's got the right aim. "C'mon," he mumbled to her. "It's a clean shot."

Elena tried to focus more, aiming her vision at that precise point of exactly where her arrow needs to spear towards. Still, she struggled as the pain in her left arm from the injured she sustained from the battle at Governanti came back. Shinon realized this as his skillful eyes watched Elena's arrow tremble at an extremely small rate.

This called for an intervention on Shinon's part, acknowledging that she might be able to make the shot but it might take a while. "Here," he said. "Let me help." Since Elena's back was facing Shinon's front, Shinon came right up next to the young female archer. He only gave about a quarter of an inch of space between the two. He then modeled his body to be in the exact same position as Elena.

His left hand held onto her left hand, the hand that held the bow. His right hand then held on her right hand, the hand that held onto her arrow. Elena's face blushed as Shinon tried to assist her shot. "You were close," he mumbled to her, pulling her aim to the right very slightly. "Very close, actually. But you're too hesitant. So you just need to breath, relax and go without fear. Just in one single motion without hesitation, the arrow will find it's way."

Elena refocused herself, pulling her shot down to the final inch of space that separated her from her target. Shinon's black as a lightless night irises turned to his right, they gazed upon the slightly tanned skin of the young female archer. "You've got it," Shinon stated, releasing his right hand from Elena's right hand. "Now there's nothing stopping this arrow from meeting it's target. Let go, Elena."

Without concern or apprehension, Elena let her arrow be free. The arrow catapulted away from the bow and away from Elena and Shinon. It's sharp and dangerous glare gazed down upon the unsuspecting Earl of Asgarnia. Along the way, the arrow then began to emit a strange glow. A purple aura surrounded the flying blade of death as it soared like a raven through the air.

Inside the building that the stealthy arrow of death had it's sights, the ignorant Maurine gazed out to the world. He seemed angry still, his eyes were closed and his body seemed harsh. Still behind him was a member of the Ruler's Counsel, Lanius. "That is final, Lanius," angrily yelled Maurine. "My loyalties with the Imperial Kingdom have long been forgotten since King Divus' assassination at the hands of those pathetic humans. But if Balor can avenge His Majesty and crush those fools then I have no choice but to throw my support."

Lanius walked over to Maurine, his hands were open to the height of his chest. They were tilted to the side, with each other's palms facing each other. "Please reconsider, my lord," Lanius begged. "I know without a doubt that Balor has caught on to our plans. If you just had him assassinated, I'm sure that you could assume the thr-..."

"Did I not MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?" furiously roared the earl. "DISAPPEAR FROM MY SIGHT BEFORE I HAVE YOU EXECU-!! " Before the earl could finish his sentence, the silencer known as fate came down upon the head of Maurine. The window in front of him shattered into hundreds of pieces, sending shards and shreds of glass dancing all over the place.

Reflecting off of Lanius' eyes was a sight that he had dreaded, blood sprayed like a fountain as the shards of glass finally rested upon the floor. The arrow had indeed found the earl, piercing straight through the earl's left jugular and beyond. It went straight into his esophagus and windpipe, cutting any air that his body desperately needed.

His closed eyes swiftly shot open as widely as an owl's. He gagged, he struggled with all of his might to gain oxygen but it was stolen from him. He fell down hard on his back, a loud thud skipped like a stone into the air. Maurine laid helplessly on the floor, his blood began to pool all around him. Lanius was right in front of the earl's desk as his mind took in the situation.

He didn't seem panicked at all, he looked like nothing at all had happened right in front of him. Lanius leaded forward, his face became visible to the dying man. His stolid eyes gazed upon the almost lifeless earl, they did not give him any remorse. "You had this coming, Maurine," declared with a mumble by Lanius. "Your treachery could not go without punishment. And by Lord Balor's will, this is necessary."

With the last second of his life passing, the struggle for the simplest amount of air has finally ended. For his final moments, Maurine heard that he was played, that he was betrayed by the dastardly man. His mind came to rest, knowing his long life was finally ending. His eyes laid open but the life had all but faded.

Lanius quickly spun around, his body now faced the doors into the room. He quickly sprinted away from the lifeless earl as fast as he could. He ran across the room with the speed of his race at his back, he managed to get to the other side of the room within a blink of an eye. His hands lunged for the door, blasting it open.

He appeared sweaty and panicked, much unlike he did a moment ago. The knights that guarded the door were both highly skilled and highly loyal, they quickly turned towards the frantic man. They seemed generally concerned as to what the panic was all about. The knights wore armour from head to toe, their heads were encased by a forest green hounskull that wore a Y shaped visor that covered the entire face.

They wore forest green plate armour with chainmail underneath. The cuirass had an image of a head of a wolf howling engraved on each side of the plate. Strapped to the right side of their waists were the sword they used to protect and serve. Strapped to their right forearm was a forest green shield made of bronze, leather and wood.

On the shield was an image of the frontal view of a face of wolf staring forward. It was inked in black. Lanius looked at the knights with a terrified look on his face. "S-sound the bells," he commanded with a stutter. "E-Earl Maurine L-Lino has been assassinated!"

The knights were shocked by this statement. The knight closest to the Counsel member turned to his knights, shaking his head once to them. They seemed to acknowledge exactly what he was telling them to do despite not using a single word. They rushed as fast as their bodies could go, running for the bell room. Their armour clanked as they made haste.

The knight who commanded the knights looked into the room and saw that the window behind his desk was shattered. This told the knight that it wasn't some kind of poison that killed Maurine. He then turned towards the member of the Ruler's Counsel. "Where are they, my lord?" politely and calmly asked the knight.

"The western tower," stated the distrait man. "It was an archer that killed him. A human from the resistance, I'm sure!"

The knight shook his head. "Good," he replied, taking the direction of where Lanius told him to go. "Wait here, sire. Let us deal with them." The knight then began racing towards the western tower, his armour clanked and buckled as he ran. Any knight who he passed then began to follow him, they all knew of the urgency that took hold of the city.

All the knights had the same state of mind, it was a frightened and terrified state. They tried their best to keep it all under the surface but some couldn't help but to show it on their faces. Inside the western tower and down below, the others waited for the actions of the two archers up above on a cloud made of wood and stone to show.

Raphael kept his father's treasured sword, Falcon, close to him. His left hand tightly held onto it, ready for anybody to walk into the door. "Does everybody think the deed's been done?" softly questioned Raphael with a whisper.

Just after Raphael spoke, the sound of a bell frantically ringing started. It's call echoed loudly for miles and miles. It sent the whole city on the alert, telling everybody of a tragedy that had occurred. The knights that patrolled the city acted like shepherds, they herded everybody that was frightened of the sound of the bells to safety.

In the heart of the city where many knights directed the many lost and scared sheep to their safety, Audley looked up at the castle where the battle for the city was about to take place. He seemed worried, concerned for the rest of the group. "Please be safe," he thought to himself, hoping for the Lumbridge Resistance to make it out alive.

The group's ears then took in the sound of the bells, informing them of the deed. Telvern was still sitting calmly on top of a barrel, he slowly flipped to te next page of this book. "I would say so," the young genius replied, answering his leader. His Spirit Kyatt then began to growl intensely, it's eyes fell like sharp daggers down upon the door that lead into the tower. "It would seem like we have company on the way."

Everybody got themselves ready for the battle, drawing their arms and preparing their bodies for the war. Raphael and Maria readied their swords, Uriel readied his magic and Telvern's familiar readied it's fangs. Their ears then capture the sound of two people rushing down the stairs. Raphael's eyes turned upwards and saw Elena and Shinon running down the spiral staircase. "They're coming," Elena declared. "Is everybody ready?"

Raphael shook his head, he was assuring her that all were ready for the battle ahead. "Should we greet them outside?" he asked.

Telvern shook his head. "I'd say it would be for the better," thought Telvern, sharing his opinion. Raphael took in the opinion of Telvern seriousness, agreeing entirely with him. He pulled his right leg up, pulling it back as if his leg was an arrow on a bow. His right foot then flew forward, aiming for the body of the door.

His foot then slammed against the wooden door, sending it swinging open at a quick speed. Raphael and the others then hop out into the open, jumping out of the door and onto the emerald green grass of the courtyard. The courtyard was surrounded by majorelle blue adamas walls and at the center of it was a statue of King Divus.

He was dressed in armour fit for his status, from his neck to his toes was covered in armour. His armour looked like it was made of crystal, more likely it was made of adamas. His pauldrons looked like many spears of adamas curving upward. His left hand was reaching up towards the sky with his head looking up as well.

Strapped onto the right side of his waist was the holy sword known as Arbandor. Before the statue's feet was a plaque made of adamas. Etched in it was the king's full name, King Divus Pallas Barn and below his name it wrote: "A benevolent ruler who has since passed from this world. By his hand laid forth a path to true peace."

The resistance stood to Divus' right, out in the center of this rather large courtyard. The size of it was about half of the size of a soccer field from both it's length and width. There were all kinds of flowers blooming all around the group, from roses to lilies of all kinds. The ground was a spectrum of all kinds of colors and life.

Standing in front of the resistance was a group of ten knights, their weapons were drawn and ready for battle. Raphael drew in breath into his lungs, breathing in the many scents of the flowers all around him. He then let the air out, releasing it back into the atmosphere. "You are all free," he stated. "You don't have to fight for them. We can make sure that whatever they are threatening will not be harmed in any way."

A laughter whispered from under the helmet of the knight that spoke to Lanius who was at the front of the group. "Your pathetic words might have worked if we were human," stated the knight. "But we are not! We are the dedicated Knights of the Wolf, we protect and serve the Earl of Asgarnia!"

Shinon walked out into the darkened day. He shook his head, disagreeing with the knight. "No," he differed. "You're a fool, you're all fools. And we'll show you why."

The knights readied their swords and shields, wielding their blades in their left hands. They seemed assured of their victory but were careful not to underestimate the power of the humans in front of them. "Surrender," suggested the seemingly leader knight. "Or face death!"

Shinon and Elena both began to pull an arrow back on their bows at the same time. As Raphael and the leader knight were trading words, Shinon's eyes then gazed upon the bodies of his enemies, looking for a place to shoot their arrows. He does notice a very small defect in the chainmail protecting the necks of the soldiers, some of the links of the chain were missing which revealed a small bit of skin.

It was big enough to take complete advantage of. Shinon turned his black irises over to Elena. "Psst," he whispered to her, fishing for her attention.

He caught the fish of the young female archer's focus. She flipped her eyes over to Shinon, curious to hear what he had to say. "What is it?" she whispered back.
