Elena kept walking forward, her feet seemed to be heading towards the desk. "Raphael," she called. "There's something that I need to tell you."

Raphael turned his head and faced the back of the black haired ranger. He seemed concerned as his indigo purple irises stared at her. "What is it?" he asked. Elena's body stood just an inch from the edge of the maple wood desk. She planted her right hand down upon the small sheet of paper. The paper had printed words on it, most likely written by Malik.

She gripped the paper with her fingers, pulling it up from the surface of the table. She spun her body around, now facing Raphael. She raised her right hand up just above her collarbone. She held the paper up to show Raphael. The silver haired young man looked at the paper with question. "A sheet of paper?" he wondered.

"Not just a sheet of paper, Raphael," she states, her voice swift to escape her lips. "This paper holds who Master Malik wanted to succeed him."

Raphael took a step forward. "Who did he want?" asked Raphael.

Elena turned her eyes to the words written on the paper. She quickly scrolls her eyes across it and then zoom them back onto Raphael. "You," Elena answered.

Raphael seemed surprised at her answer, he felt as if his ears didn't catch it right. His eyebrows rose to the top of his head. "Me?" the silver haired young man repeated. "But why?"

Elena took a step forward, towards the shocked Raphael. "He believed it to be right," she stated, she held the paper up to her face and read it as she began walking slowly over to Raphael. ""I believe Raphael has the qualities of a leader and the strength of a person you may rarely find in this world. He is a young man who has gone through much change in his lifetime and understands it and sacrifice. He possesses the abilities and skills of which a leader truly needs. If you believe this all to be wrong, you are greatly misguided.""

"But..." Raphael thought as the train of thought in his mind froze solid. His voice paused as he then began to fix the train of thought's mechanical problems. Raphael's eyes wandered away from Elena's face. A minute of silence went by without a single noise coming forward. His eyes then quickly flipped back onto the young archer. "How could he have written that?"

"He references you as if we know who you are," stated Elena, her voice sounded rather baffled. Her footsteps stopped just two feet from where Raphael stood. "No introductions or any written ways to find you. No information about who you are or any history. Nothing...it's as if he knew you were going to be with us when he was writing this. And that couldn't have been anytime recently because this ink doesn't look fresh at all. This was written at least a couple of months old."

"That's really odd..." said Raphael as he stood beside Elena to read the paper with his own eyes. "How could he know something that was going to take place months later?"

Elena shrugged her right shoulder. "I don't know," she responded, shaking her head. "Master Malik was always a mystery."

Raphael drew in breath into his lungs and then let it out through his mouth. "I guess my father's death really affected him..." he sighed, he turned his head to his left. His indigo purple eyes looked upon Elena's face. "My father and Master Malik were really close friends. But then...my father was murdered by some assassin hired by Balor and he disappeared from Governanti."

"I see..." mumbled Elena, she turned her head to Raphael. "Well...If you're going to become our leader then you best figure out what our next move is."

Raphael turned his head away from Elena. He felt as if a million tons of responsibility was just tossed onto his shoulders. "Yeah..." the silver haired young man whispered with a soft touch. "But I'm not sure with this whole leader thing. What if I'm not cut out for it?"

Elena turned around, her front now faced the wooden surface of the desk once again. "I have faith in Master Malik's word," she stated, walking towards the desk. "If he believed that you have the qualities of a leader then who's to say no? Not many people are going to like it but this is Master Malik's decision and we always follow whoever our former master elects."

Raphael spun his body around, his face now looked upon Elena's back. His purple irises met her black hair. "All right," he acknowledged, his voice rather low and unsure. "Where do I start?"

"Telvern Thaddeus," she suggested, she placed the sheet of paper down upon the middle of the desk. She turned herself around, once again facing Raphael. "Master Malik trusted him a lot as his partner when it came to battle tactics and planning."

He took her suggestion to heart. He may have never met whoever it is that she suggested but he knows that he has to trust her. "All right," he once again acknowledged, parroting his answer just a moment ago. "He's in the castle, right?"

Elena shook her head. "Yeah," Elena confirmed. "He should be in the cellar."

Raphael's left eyebrow rose. "The cellar?" he questioned. "That's...different."

Elena smiled. "I know," she agreed with a hint of a chuckle in her voice. "Telvern is a bit of an oddball and he may go as far as not even talking to you at all. He's incredibly focused on his research so he might just not be aware that you're there."

Raphael shook his head, his face sure but unsure at the same time. ''All right,'' he said, he took in Elena's words. He turned around, facing the double doors that lead back out into the hallway. He placed his left hand onto the dragonstone doorknob but then he paused. He then turned his head around to face Elena. ''Uh, how do you get there?''

Elena rubbed the back of her head with her right hand. ''Oh, right,'' she spoke. ''I guess it was rather silly of me to think you could find your way there.''

Raphael grew a discouraged look on his face. ''Not sure whether or not I should take that as an insult or not...'' he muttered.

Elena began to walk over to the door where Raphael was. ''Come on, Master Raphael,'' she said. ''I'll take you there.''

Raphael's discouraged and insulted look melted away into an odd look. ''''Master Raphael''?'' he curiously quoted as he then began to rub the right side of his head with his right index finger. ''I think that's a little too much for me! ''Raphael'' is just fine.''

Elena's head bowed, acknowledging her master's command. ''I'm sorry,'' she apologized, recognizing Raphael's request. ''...Raphael.''

Raphael smiled. ''Don't apologize, you dork,'' he stated. ''And enough of the formalities please. Treat me like you normally would, without the titles.''

Elena smiled back at Raphael as she then shook her head up and down. ''All right,'' she understood. ''Let's go.'' Raphael twisted the doorknob of the left door to the right, pulling it open. The door slowly opened up, it revealed the familiar purple carpet that came from below. The two began to walk out of the room, leaving behind the room that their former master helmed.

Elena closed the door behind them as she then began to realize what Raphael was going through at that exact moment. Raphael's eyes were lost just like the young archer's eyes were just a week ago. "Master Malik..." he sorrowfully muttered to himself. "I'm sorry I couldn't stop this from happening. You didn't deserve to die. And to that man...that man of all people! In order to make a better world, I must stop Balor! His influence upon the world is causing the world to suffocate. I can't let him continue."

Elena turned her eyes back at Raphael. "Balor made his first order as king," she stated. "Humans now cannot live inside a house...they're focused to live on the streets."

Raphael's thought quickly vanished just as his ears caught the wind of Elena's voice. His legs froze, his body then turned around to face Elena. "No..." he mumbled.

Elena drew in breath into her lungs and released the air back out, Her face was full of lament. "Balor oversaw the "evictions" himself," Elena explained with a hint of disgust in her voice. "He watched his Loyal Knights brutally beat every single human that lived inside a house...until they exited. Some refused to leave even after all the beatings and those people suffered the worst punishment. They were forced to watch their families get slowly tortured in front of their eyes until they submitted. Balor personally did the torturing himself."

Raphael had a disgust look on his face. His face screamed abhorrence. "That's..." he loudly spoke. "...Beyond horrible."

"Fionnlagh sent me a letter," she continued. "He said that he luckily got to the base in time before they could get there. He said that there was blood everywhere he looked and horrified screams everywhere he turned. Families of those who defied the gods were tortured in public where all the gods in the city gathered. They laughed at the humans who they also insulted and spat on. Balor was cheered on like a hero when he tortured those people. They chanted his name and even called him the best king they had ever known. Even better than the Hero King himself. He's even forcing everybody within the city to stay inside the walls otherwise they will be killed."

Raphael closed his eyes and his hands clenched into tight fists of utter anger. His face tightened up like his fists. "Elena," he called with ire.

Elena shook her saddened look for just a moment. She turned her concerned face over to the newly found fury that was Raphael. "What is it?" she carefully asked.

Raphael opened his eyes up. "Balor has to be punished for his actions," his voice spoke as it shook with exasperation. "That means he needs to die. He can't be allowed to live after this."

Elena turned her head away from Raphael. She drew in breath and sighed. "I know..." she mumbled. "The world would probably be better off without him."

Raphael shook his head. "Yeah," he concurred. Raphael began walking forward. Elena then followed suit. "I don't want to kill people but Balor...has to pay for what he has done."

The two approached a small door at the other end of the hallway. It was a wooden door with a rusty doorknob. Elena placed her right hand onto the doorknob slowly. Her slightly tan skinned hand touched the face of the doorknob and clenched onto it tightly. She then twisted it to the left and pulled it towards her.

The door revealed a room that looked like it hadn't seen a cleaning day in decades. There were wooden tables of all shapes against the walls. They were blanketed by cobwebs that made it the foundation of it's home. There were sinks with a drip of water still hitting a pool of water inside the keep of the metal bowls. There were several unlit torches that were held tightly by the metal hands on the wall.

The room itself was quite dark, the only light was the light that came from the open door. There were a few pots and pans that rattled when the door into the kitchen opened. Raphael shuffled his head all around the room once he entered it. His footsteps clicked against the black and white checker tile flooring.

Elena was just behind him as she mirrored his actions. "This was the old kitchen of this castle before the collapse of the Kingdom of Misthalin eighty-four years ago," she stated. She then pointed her right index towards the center of the room. "The door into the cellar should be there."

Raphael turned his head back behind him. His eyes looked at Elena who he gave a gentle smile to. "Thanks," he thanked. He then walked over to the center of the room and saw the wooden face of the cellar door. He clenched his right hand onto the iron handle sticking out from the right side of the square wooden door.

He then quickly pulled it open, behind the mouth was a brightly lit room and a wooden ladder just in front of him. Raphael stared down at the floor. "No, no, NO," shouted a voice from within the room. A loud and angry sound of paper being crushed into a ball then comes into the air. "That's completely wrong!"

Raphael then began to slowly walk down the wooden ladder. He placed his feet one by one down on each of the wooden beams. Sluggishly as he came down, his feet finally touched the stone brink floor. Both of his feet landed perfectly on the ground in the brightly lit room. As Raphael's eyes scrolled across the walls, all he sees are papers with strange markings and odd things written all over them.

Just a foot from his right was a stone wall that was about ten feet long, it concealed him from the man's vision. He slowly stepped forward as he heard the man angrily mumbling to himself. His footsteps are clearly heard yet there was still no reaction from the fellow this young silver haired man came to see.

Raphael came out from behind the wall. All around him were papers that were nailed to the wall. Barely anything else took up the wall. To Raphael's right was a lectern that was in the shape of an eagle. The lectern was made of magic wood and it's edging was trimmed in gold. The floor around where the cloaked man stood was a black and white checkered tile.

His eyes gazed upon the back of a man wearing a dark brown doublet and a dark orange cloak around his neck which went down to his waist. His hair was almost black but it was a very dark blue. Raphael stood still out in the open then leaned his upper body forward to show respect. "Hello, sir," greeted Raphael, picking his body back up. "Are you Telvern Thaddeus? I was told that you could help me."

Raphael watched as the man frantically scrolled his head all across the table. "Where is it, where is it?" the man mumbled. There was a large golden-brown sheet of paper laying on the top of the table. The man was hunched over and his hands are planted on their respective sides of the table. His search quickly ended once his head turned to a horizontal stack of books on the upper portion of the table.

His left hand went up and grabbed a book that was the farthest from the left. The name of the book on it's spine of it was in a language Raphael couldn't understand. He pulled the book up to his face and opened it up in his hand. Then he scrolled his eyes across it's content. Raphael politely and patiently waited for the man, expecting him to react to his presence shortly.

Ten minutes passed of the man just scrolling through the pages of that book. Raphael drew in breath into his lungs and let it out. "Excuse me, sir," once again spoke Raphael, his voice was slightly loud than before. "A moment of your time, please."

He still ignored Raphael, he was too absorbed in the letters of his book than the outside world. Raphael was fed up, tired of waiting. Though he knows it would be impolite to do what he was contemplating, he knew it was necessary. "Excuse me!" he yelled. This certainly grabbed the attention of the man, he almost jumped out of his skin.

He then paused for a moment, he was very startled. He quickly stared behind him and saw Raphael standing there. The face of the man looked like the mask of someone who hadn't slept in days. He had bags under his eyes and a very angry face. He seemed really irritated as he looked at Raphael but more specifically, he looked at Raphael's eyes.

But then he realized who it was and his face sort of melted into a look as if he discovered something. "You must be the one Malik told me about," he thought. "My, you do have Astrid's eyes."

Raphael's face seemed puzzled but otherwise confused. "Astrid?" Raphael questioned, a hint of bewilderment took his sound. Raphael cleaned himself of his confusion as well as his curiosity. "A-are you Telvern, Telvern Thaddeus?"

The man turned his head around and looked back at his book. "I could be," he answered, his voice was still partly covered by annoyance. "That answer all entirely depends on what you want from me."

"I'm sure you're aware of the recent events of what happened," Raphael responded with quickness. "Well, sir, according to a note written by Master Malik, I am to assume the role as leader of the resistance. "

Telvern's eyebrows raise up high. "Really?" he softly spoke as if he couldn't understand what Raphael was saying. He was once again getting lost in his book.

"So," continued Raphael. "I was told to come here because you and Master Malik were partners when it came to planning and battle strategy."

"Uh huh..." he mumbled. He was without a doubt lost.

"So, sir," Raphael said. "Could we please discuss this? If I am to become the leader then I best act appropriately."

Raphael's ears then catch a soft pound of a book closing. Telvern places the book down upon the oak wood flesh of the table. He then turns around to face Raphael. Telvern then pulls his soft brown irises onto Raphael, staring at him eye-to-eye. "Then you're at the right place," he states. "I am Telvern Thaddeus as you guessed."

The silver haired young man scratched the right side of his head. "Well," Raphael said. "I didn't necessarily guess, sir. I was sort of told you were here by Elena."

Telvern smiled lightly. "Ah, Elena," he responded. He then began walking to his left, towards a large bookcase that was utterly stuffed with books. "She's a nice girl, isn't she?"

Raphael lightly shook her head. "Pleasant, sir," he replied. "So, what would you suggest we do?"

Telvern stood in front of the bookcase as his eyes began scrolling across each book from top to bottom. He seemed to be looking for a particular book. "Falador," Telvern quickly suggested.

Raphael's eyebrows tightened up. "Pardon?" he replied.
