Back within the crystallize walls of the capital and into the holds of the Imperial Palace, the prince stared out from his window in his room. His body reflected off of the glass as his glowing eyes stared out into the endless orange sky. The sun was barely there anymore but it's life had not yet been lost.
He looked upon building after building as far as his eye could see. In his left hand, he held a small plate about the size of his palm that was made of the crystal-like material. In his right hand, he had a small tea cup made of the same material as the plate. There was a small pond of warm tea that was welled inside the cup. Warm stream poured out from the liquid that entered the air.
He held the cup and plate at about waist height and it was below his chin. His face seemed very stern, not his usual amused look. Just behind the prince was a bald man with a beard standing about ten feet from where Balor was. His sky blue eyes looked upon the dark navy blue cape of the prince.
He seemed more relaxed than the two Loyal Knights behind him. The bald man looked like a knight as he was encased in armour except for his head. The bald man got down to his knees and bowed his head towards the prince. "My lord," said the humble man. "I have sent word to the Desert Assassins, they shall be here tomorrow as you desired."
Balor kept staring outside without turning to the bald man. "Good work, Gallows," he praised. "I've no doubt that the humans will come for my life tomorrow. Quite simply, they stand no chance."
Gallows shook his head. "That is undoubtable," he thought, standing back up to his feet. "But what of the assassins?"
"A mere pittance," calmly stated Balor. "I'll kill them the moment I suspect that they've been bought out by a thicker wallet."
"Hey, hey," said a voice what seemed to come from the left side of the room. "Ain't ya familiar with the phrase "don't kill the messenger"?"
The end
is only
the beginning...
