Putting the edge of the cup in between her lips, Calvin very carefully tipped the cup towards her. The water slowly fell into her mouth, and Calvin continued to pull the cup upwards as the liquid vanished. Slowly but steadily, the water disappeared into nothingness. Once the drink was finished, Calvin put the glass back down beside the jug on the table.

She looked back at him, vague recollections coming to her. "...Calvin?" Libitina softly named.

Surprised to hear Libitina's voice call his name, he ceased all motion. The assassin turned his head around, looking back at her. It made him smile, happy to hear that she might have actually remembered something. "Yep, that's me," he told her, his voice joyous. "See? I told you, didn't I? A little time is all it takes..."

Having hid behind the outside wall the whole time, Telvern had listened in on the whole thing. Her voice... It was enough warrant for the genius to go investigate, his body standing tall and stepping into the house. He stood there in the doorway, looking down upon the two in the room. Although he couldn't quite make out where he was staring, he knew. Yes, he knew exactly where he eyes did peer.

His shadow was cast out over Calvin and Libitina, appearing like a solid black figure to them both. Libitina happened to take notice of him, standing there like his passage were forbidden. Her eyes slowly drew closer to him, finding the mysterious black figure she couldn't quite figure out. Telvern immediately recognized something from her gaze, her eyes strangely not bearing their familiar red glow.

Calvin was simply too busy making sure she was all right, not having noticed Telvern's being there. Libitina's glance lingered there for a moment, attempting almost hysterically to figure out who that was. But then... Something plagued her, a coiled up snake having finally made its move. It rapidly and violently launched its assault, its venom unleashing an indecipherable barrage of pictures in Libitina's head.

These images began flooding at a swift speed, she couldn't even begin to understand this blurry mixture of a thousand colors. Like a stunning flash of lightning, striking her down and causing her to fall haplessly into an uncontrollable state of panic and hysteria. Her irises become the size of small dots, her jaw dangling loose as though broken, shattered whimpers whispering from her lips.

Her hands gripped solidly upon her head, her whole body quivered as she once more began to sweat excessively. Telvern almost didn't know how to react to this, seeing this sudden decline, this drop into the overflowing ocean of horror. What could even be the cause of such a reaction? To what had he done? It made the genius hit the brakes, take a long, thoughtful pause.

Libitina pulled her face down towards the bed, her nails digging so viciously into her scalp to the point where she could draw blood. She moaned loudly, uttering what sounded like strange gibberish. Her voice broken up, sobbing painfully as she rapidly rocked back and forth. "No... No..." Libitina cried, almost as though desperately begging. "No... No... Dego, dego, dego! I don't want this, can't do this, can't do this, won't do this! Don't make me, don't make me! Please! ...I have to... run, run and hide, got to get away from him!"

Libitina just kept on repeating those words over and over like a terrible cycle, not letting up for even a moment. The genius simply took a quick gasp of air, opening his mouth to speak. But his motion ceased the moment Calvin's left finger pointed at him, facing an unusual glare. " Don't speak it," the assassin shouted with ire.

He then turned back with focus to Libitina, a nervous drop of sweat bolted down his skin. Calvin did exactly what he did before, wrapping his arms around as an attempt to comfort her. "You're all right, you're safe!" he panickingly assured her. "Nothing can hurt you, nothing's gonna hurt you, you understand?!"

Telvern didn't even know what to say or even make out of this, watching silently as Libitina utterly broke down. He seemed somber, felt as though it were his fault. He stared off as Calvin offered whatever comfort he could, throwing out every single word he could think of to calm her down. She needed to be put back together, the genius' presence shattering even further what was already broken.

Telvern stepped out of the room, disappearing from sight. Calvin looked over at the door, seeing that the genius acknowledged that his being there awoke something in her. "Look," he said to her, her head pulling up to take a look. Her voice stopped the moment she noticed that no one was there. "No one's here, see? You're safe."

Her hands slowly fell down from her head, her utterly bewildered and frightened face just staring out towards the entrance. Libitina then looked over at Calvin, her eyes looking directly at his face. His smile and a head shake reassuring that her grip upon reality was not entirely lost, that she had returned, that she had just been imagining that figure.

She tried her very best to get back control of herself, slowing down her frantic breath, her runaway heartbeat. Her mind blank once more, her face letting go of its horror. Acknowledging that Libitina had begun to slowly calm herself down, Calvin stood up to his feet, putting his hand on her back. "C'mon," he said. "you need to rest."

He then very slowly lowered her body, laying her down upon that cotton earth. She being at the center of the double-sized bed, comforted by its embrace. Her head cushioned by a white-colored cloud, Calvin tucked her tightly under the wrap of the blankets. The assassin gazed down at her, smiling. "I'll be back soon, okay?" Calvin notified her. "Don't worry about a thing, I've got it all taken care of."

She looked back at him, but the look in her eyes and face alerted Calvin to a change. "Who..." she quietly spoke, unable to finish her words until she gained the strength to reach its end. "...Who... are you?"

Calvin took a heavy breath, looking down at Libitina. He was saddened for obvious reasons, his leader and the very person he looked up to the most slowly disintegrating, not being able to remember a thing. "Go to sleep," he told his superior.

That was enough for one day, Libitina thought. Her restless body growing weaker by the second, her eyes unable to put up a fight anymore. Her unyielding struggle finally coming to an end, at least for today. Taking the stranger's advice, her consciousness faded into the arms of an invisible taker, a being dressed in black. Her eyes closed shut, so tired to have fallen asleep right there and then.

Calvin watched her too, seeing she finally found solace, having sought after and gained tranquility. His sorrow replaced by the happiness of the small victories of today, the corners of his lips stretching slightly upwards. His hand upon the top of her head, brushing his thumb across her hair to help comfort her enough so that she might take the trip to the world of her own dreams.

Her lungs drew with a gentle breath, she seemed caught in a dream of placidity. The assassin kept watch over her for just a while longer, just happy that she managed to finally fall asleep. After a minute or so, Calvin's pale blue eyes then turned behind him. He slowly lifted his hand from Libitina's head, knowing that she was now at peace.

His body began to walk towards the doorway, leaving his boss to her sleep. Telvern was behind the right wall on the outside, having escaped Libitina's view after her massive panic attack. The genius heard Calvin's coming, preparing himself to the confrontation. He had many questions to press, and many things he needed to say.

The moment Calvin came out of the house, he quickly turned to be in front of Telvern. He lunged his right hand forward, shoving Telvern into the wall. The assassin pulled out his shortsword, putting it up to Telvern's throat. The genius was pinned to the wall, threatened at sword point. Though, he was unfazed by this, staring into the cold, harsh snow plain that was Calvin's eyes.

"Y'know," said Calvin, his voice shook with ire. "I really should just kill ya right 'ere, right now."

"So, do it," advised the genius, his fearless suggestion perhaps more out of apathy and uncaring than gallantry. "You surely would not be committing a sin if you did, perhaps more of a favor."

"Fer whom, I wonder," the assassin responded. "The hell ya think yer doin', anyway? Why'd ya follow me?"

"I suspected you hid more than you let on," Telvern answered candidly, his eyes then slowly turning to his left. "...It seems my mistrust was well-founded."

"Yer one ta talk," Calvin replied. "Yer just makin' everyone mad at ya, ain't ya? I had no reason ta not like ya, but now... Teh, throw dat out the damn window."

"Irregardless, you've been lying to us,"

"Git one thing straight," the assassin growled. "Boss has nothin' ta do wit' anythin', not wit' ya or anyone upstairs. I ain't hidin' anythin' from any-a ya, I just don't want my brothers an' sisters ta worry 'bout 'er."

"Don't lie to me," the genius spoke back, anger trying its best to blend under his voice. But it was like trying to hide behind a cardboard tree in the middle of a forest, so futile was his effort. "You know as well as I that—"

"—I told you not to speak it," angrily enforced the assassin, pushing his blade up so very close now to Telvern's throat. Even more now did a hard, serious aura radiate off of Calvin, his eyes like a death-stare. "You even so much as think about telling anyone about what you seen down here, and I'll make sure you don't even get the opportunity to breath for it, you get me?"

"What goes on with you?" Telvern asked, chuckling very lightly and jokingly. "You're usually so much more composed than this. Has my sneaking up behind you made you rattled, a man famous among his people for his laid-back attitude even in the face of danger?"

"Old habits die hard," the Lamian returned, his hand slowly recoiled back to his side, his blade backing off from the skin of Telvern's neck.

Calvin pushed off away from the genius, his sword slowly making its way back to its leather home, a scabbard at Calvin's waist. The two had to slowly ease back up into normalcy, the air still thick with the electricity of tension. The two traded glares, speaking solely through eye contact. It was a moment or two of their wordless argument, but eventually someone would come out the victor.

Telvern simply sighed, turning away from the Lamian. His legs wake from their still slumber, beginning to stroll over to the left. He very quietly made his way into the hut, treading with the care of walking whilst balancing a tower of glass on the palm of his hand. Not sure if he had a good reason for it, Calvin followed in right behind him.

His eyes took a harsh glance upon that familiar space, seeing as the genius made his way towards that portrait that hid its face against the wall. He knelt down beside that portrait, its back more than just something that attracted his eyes. His hand grabbed upon its frame, pulling it up so that he might gaze once more upon its face.

Telvern's face hung low as he gazed upon this picture, knowing its image well. Calvin's eyes finding the genius' back, appearing like they truly were like the swords he used to take the lives of his targets. "What do ya think yer doin'?" Calvin's voice then questioned.

"Oh, nothing at all..." the genius answered so nonchalantly yet so quietly, his eyes glued to the picture, his mind recalling bits and pieces of the past.

Telvern's eyes were then pried off of the portrait, fanning out all around him. This place... A place where he had many times of good and bad, of joy and sorrow. So many memories came into his head, he simply closed his eyes and took a silent breath. He put the portrait back exactly where he found it, exactly how he found it.

Telvern just stared at the back of that portrait for the longest time, its image appeared so vividly throughout the whole of his life. He was unable to let it go, the memories of his childhood. It took a minute -- perhaps longer -- to recompile his focus, but he did eventually manage to pry his eyes off of it.

His head twisted off to his right, looking back at the lazy assassin. He found Calvin with his arms crossed as he leaned his left shoulder into the doorframe. Letting go of his foremost anger, Calvin grinned the moment Telvern's steely gaze came for him. "I gotta give it ta ya," told Calvin in his observation. "Ya've gotten real good at the whole sneakin' deal, I didn't even 'ear ya at all."

"Such as the skill that comes with the job," Telvern said. "I've had plenty of practice."

Telvern's eyes very sluggishly swept across the area, thoroughly scanning every inch of this space. His vision crawled up upon the bed out in the middle of nowhere, snaking through the sheets and upon the sickly, sleeping woman. His head flowed back to the scene of her utter panic, curiously did he wish to poke. "What's wrong with her?" he asked, interested.

Calvin pushed his body off of the doorframe quickly and angrily, bursting out a heavy, hard sigh. "I dunno," the Lamian answered in utter frustration. "She just kinda fell ill just all-a sudden, can't seem ta figure why. Everyday I come down 'ere, an' she loses 'nother piece-a herself, she can't even 'member me half the time. Hell, a lot-a the time even the sound-a 'er voice just ain't right."

"How curious," the genius replied, his interest piqued, then slowly did he rose to his feet, his steely brown gaze falling back over to his front. Putting out his left foot forward, his body began to step further into this realm. His footsteps banged upon the cold stone floor, echoing quietly. He stood off to the right of Libitina, gazing down upon her.

The assassin's eyes followed his bloody clothed back very closely, not letting go for even a second. It was obvious though that Calvin didn't want Telvern to linger here any longer, his mouth opening up to speak. "C'mon," impatiently spoke Calvin. "I got stuff I gotta do an' I ain't lettin' ya roam 'round 'ere by yaself."

Telvern looked back at Calvin, seeing his irritated expression. "My apologies," he replied. "but I don't think bloody clothes are feasible for everyday life, wouldn't you agree?"

Hearing Telvern's reply, Calvin did see the reason behind it. He quickly tilted his head slightly to the right before recoiling back in place, carelessly throwing his shoulders and hands up, shrugging. "Guess yer right," he forced himself to agree, knowing it was right. "...Just don't take long."

Finally putting Calvin off, Telvern continued along his way. He went forward, breezing by chilling, frigid air that caused his very skin to flare up with bumps. The genius approached a door that stood agape, behind it lurked only darkness. He forced his way in, his right hand reaching out and very gingerly pushing aside the door.

He stood now in a space that would be an utter panic room to any claustrophobic, an airless, tight-fitting room. The room was just barely large enough to fit a single-sized bed, a drawer, and a mirror which hung on the wall behind the drawer. A candle melted all the way down to its ankles on top of the drawer, a cobweb reached up to chain it to the dusty earth it stood upon.

He pulled his right hand out in front of him, clinching it loosely. His right index and middle fingers discriminated from the rest, rushing out to the frontlines. They stood erect, looking like they were trying to catch rain. Then strung suddenly from their very tips did a flicker, a warm, bright orange glow. A very small flame appeared from before the ball of his two fingers, its dance giving light to this lightless world.

Telvern then held his fingers out to the candle's tongue, catching it ablaze. He bestowed the gift of fire, lifting the candle's shambled life and giving it purpose once more. The flame's warmth was the size of a child compared to the size of cold, which was that of a titan. But its presence was a godsend to those objects that only wished to be seen, to be noticed.

Quickly lashing his right hand like a whip, Telvern rid himself of the flame's power. He closed the door behind him, a very soft click confirming its closure. Not wasting anymore time, the genius then jerked his head downwards, taking aim for the drawer. His hand reached for one such mouth, grabbing it by a faded brass handle on the very tip of its lips.

He yanked open the very old drawer, revealing to himself neatly folded-up cloth of faith he never imagined himself donning ever again. He simply closed his eyes and sighed, his bleak-skinned hands reaching up for the very top button of his red-stained doublet. With one button pulled out, others followed in its stead. One-by-one, he began pulling out those buttons like seeds.

With each button, a white chemise was unveiling underneath. Finally having reached the end of his dozen step trail, Telvern quickly removed and carelessly discarded his doublet. His chemise soaked up his blood, a large, gaping hole in its lower half. Just as his doublet, the genius then just quickly pulled off and tossed aside his chemise.

His bare, battered, scrawny, almost starved looking body revealed to him, looking back at him in a blurry haze. His abdomen still fresh with the scar of betrayal, his body still bruised from the beating he endured at the hands of Soter after his betrayal. His hair longer and more unkempt than usual, his face heavy with stubble, and bags weighing like a ton of bricks hanging from his weary eyes.

His eyes then gazed down at the contents of that drawer once more, seeing a long-sleeved, white shirt before him. His hands clasped upon that shirt, pulling it out from its weathered wood coffin, holding it out before him. He slung that shirt on, pulling it gently over his head and down along his trunk. It fit very loosely, more so than he remembered, but that was probably because he lost so much weight.

It was a white linen shirt, a quilted pattern made up its entirety. It appeared somewhat padded, meant to provide a very slight defense. Its front could be opened, but it was laced shut. This shirt was slightly longer than his torso, going down to just below his waist. After making this shirt comfortable around him, Telvern's eyes looked down upon a dark gray pair of pants.
