"*It is all right, just rest and don’t wake up.”
Gregory opened his eyes."
Heh, I loved that. Oh, look at that, Pyrrhic defeat, it's nice to see that phrase every now and then, as it's rare that I do see it at all.
It's a bit strange that, despite the hardcode fights and mass loss of life, your characters say "hello how are you doing?" to one another. During stress like that I'd imagine pleasantries to be minimal, but that's just me, so no worries.
I always wondered what would happen if RuneScape was destroyed. What would the villains accomplish in the long-run? Guess they'd end up fulfilling their revenge and go back to Freneskae or something. I was always interested in that subject because it's a rare thing to find in literature and it has great variables.
Anyways, I like the large numbers of combatants, but also the variety of Gregory's side; men to Tzhaar, Elves to undead. There should be more of that, but it's rare. Even as early as Tolkien, and earlier, it's often 'the nice good guys against the ugly, no-good, angry bad guys/orcs/undead/evil/etc.', but oh well, I guess creativity takes time.
Well, that's it so far. Just two chapters to go, hm? Feels like just a few days ago since I reviewed the story. It's a shame that real full-length stories don't get much readers. It seems that the only stories that get consistent praises are about nothing but short-term elements, basis description, predictable scenes, and not much else. Compared to the era of 2007-9, the stories of RuneScape, by limited authors such as you and me and few others, had an increase of complexity, long-term themes, and general scenes with a focus on what you cannot see in-game -- and guess what -- They don't get many readers at all.
Oh well, I suppose that just means the minority of true artists are just that, a minority. In that case I'd rather be part of the minority.
Look at me babble. I just didn't want to be useless. Time for waiting now.
