The spell cast on Lucien was a teleportation spell, similar to the crystal balls that Gregory had created, and it permitted Gregory to teleport himself, or someone else or SOMETHING else to Lucien. Gregory created a small creature, no more than an inch long, that listened to everything said then could magically transmit it to the owner. After he was sure Lucien was at his base again, Gregory teleported the creature.
It landed on the floor next to Lucien, and as it had been ordered to follow Lucien, it ran along the floor until it reached him, then hung onto his cloak. Lucien was on his way to a meeting. As he sat down, on of his men said,
“Lord Lucien, your researcher for the Stone of Jas failed, but he let Surok Magis down there to help in the research.”
“Surok Magis! I never ordered him to go down there. I strictly told him to stay at the Black Knight’s fortress.”
“Precisely. He is not there. He left without letting the men there have a hint of his destination, and it happens that an adventurer had just been seen sneaking in there, AND one of our captives, Silif, escaped. So many strange coincidental things happening at the same time are unheard of. There must be an adventurer behind this.”
“Haha what did I tell you all? I told you that the same fool adventurer would manage to get into this whole business, and eventually find the Stone. So what is the news?”
“Well it appears that your researcher found it a few minutes ago, he told us through magic, and Surok Magis, or that adventurer is there too.”
“WHAT!! This is disastrous!! The adventurer will touch it!! No!!*
Lucien teleported straight to the site and sure enough, there was ‘Surok Magis’ talking with Lucien’s researcher.
Lucien said to himself, “I can’t attack him or else he will probably do huge damage to me, because he had touched the Stone of Jas. I should just take it then leave.”
Lucien telebrabbed the stone, teleported a few tormented demons to the site, and teleported away.
