With a flutter of its wings, the puffin performed an action which could only be described as a hop, resulting on the bird standing farther back on Frilarth's snout (which in turn resulted in the dragon becoming further cross-eyed in an attempt to observe the ambitious bird).
"I haven't seen one of these little guys in a long time," Frilarth said, somewhat thoughtfully. "I don't know why, but they always seem to want to play with my nostrils. It's usually only around the coast that I encounter them... wonder if we're near water, then."
<I don't know, I feel as though you might be a bit overconfident in how easily he will fall. He wiped out an entire clan in little more than a blink of an eye, which is beyond my capacity to fathom...>
<Father was more than a bit paranoid by then, and hardly fit to stay in his position much longer. It really wouldn't surprise me that he would view a single dragon as a threat... That, and Glaruindem was the only area from the sea to the mountains not under our control. I suppose you could say it had the view of the last thing that needed conquering.>

<I suppose we will have to wait until we defeat Nrilgroth to be sure. However, I do believe that Nrilgroth will be an easier fight then he is made out to be. Forlirn's clan did not believe anything that Forlirn was saying. Thus they were not prepared for Nrilgroth. We, on the otherhand are. Again, don't forget Frilarn has already killed a true one. We just follow his lead.>
<I get the feeling they didn't end up attacking after Forlirn defeated you. Glaruindem didn't exactly look like it was under your control. Did Forlirn scare your clan into not attacking?>

(( Sorry for not posting......been busy with homework. ))
"I would rather not be eaten without the guarentee that I woud come out alive and whole once you spitt me out." said Rhen. "I guess I will just have to make due with the blankets we brought."
~Of all times to head north.......the winter had tobe the only time.~ thought Rhen.

<I suppose... but how do we know Frilarn still knows how to kill one of those creatures? He can't even speak basic Draconic or prevent himself from being captured by a psychotic human... Not that we did any better in that happening... And how are we to know that we'll be able to follow his lead? The ability that killed the True One might be his alone...>
<Well, I guess you could say he tricked me to an extent. I'm not quite sure how, but he learned before our duel that I was hot-tempered... and not the best at making decisions when angered. It ended up resulting in me challenging him to a duel to the death, where, if he defeated me, the city of Glaruindem would be protected from our conquest. He defeated me, refusing to kill me despite my insistence that he do so, and took my sword, leaving me with the task of explaining my failure to the clan.>
Caelidorus glanced back behind him, blinking in surprise at what he saw.
"...Is that a bird... on Frilarth's.. face?"
He seemed a bit perplexed.
"Perhaps you should," Forlirn said with a small chuckle. "Because I'm quite certain that would be preferable."

<I don't think that something like how to kill a true one is easily forgotten. The fact that he can not speak draconic doesn't change that. We can't really argue the being captured by a psychotic human because, as you said, we fell into that trap as well. And I suppose that we cannot rule out his ability being unique. However, I can't think of any reason why it would be. Can you think of anything?>
<Heh, I wouldn't have wanted to have been there when you told your father that you were defeated. I bet he was not very pleased to hear that. Truthfully, I think it was for the better though. Whether or not you admit it, Forlirn has been good to us. He has left a very large impact on our lives.>
Matt looked back at Frilarth. A confused expression came over his face. "Huh, isn't that odd? Why doesn't Frilarth bat that bird off of his face? For that matter, why would a bird land on his face in the first place? You'd think they would know better then to do something like that."

"Then I guess I will. I will grab one after we land again. For right now I will just have to bear with it." said Rhen as he sratched his neck. "So remind me......what are we looking for in the ruins again? Some sort of artifact or something right?"

<What I know of the True Ones is barely different than zero; of course I can't think of anything. Anyway, what my point is is that we can not know if Frilarn is still capable of killing a True One, so we really can't rely on him being able to do so.>
<Aye, I do realize that... though I am still a bit sore about the entire affair. Being the champion of my clan for a long time... well, it kinda makes me feel more than a bit sore when not the victor of something. And in that instance... well, it's not something I want to relive, considering I not only lost the battle but also lost my sword as a result...>
"You think it would, considering that's a good place to get eaten from," Caelidorus said, shaking his head. "I suppose it's lucky to have picked Frilarth to land on, considering he's probably the only of us who wouldn't shoe it away. Or eat it."
"Anything," Forlirn replied. "Anything that could give us a clue... Since we really have nothing to do on right now. And I know it's pretty much nothing to go on... but we really have no other choice."

((My computer is broken, so I will unable to use telepathy due to not having the proper symbol on my phone for it.))

"I guess you are right.I just hope that we never have to battle a true one. I don't want to have to put your theory to the test." Matt said.

"Don't beat yourself up over that Caelidorus!" Matt replied. "You may be the champion off your clan, but even champions lose sometimes. You are still easily the best fighter here. You just made a simple mistake. Also, don't worry about having lost your sword. At the end of the day, it is nothing more then a sharp piece of metal."
"Yeah, I wonder why Frilarth gets so excited over these things.I'd just scare the bird off of me, and you would probably just make a quick snack out of it. Frilarth, on the other hand, treats it like some monumental event." Matt said

((Alright.))
"Aye... I hope that we find something more... concrete... to combat them in the case that we do have to fight one," Caelidorus sighed. "Because I'd really rather not leave such a thing up to chance."
"The clan does not exactly share such views," Caelidorus replied. "To the clan, the blade is much like a physical representation of a warrior's honor... to lose it... well, it's not taken lightly."
"Well, he is Frilarth," Caelidorus chuckled. "And considering how entertaining it is to see such events, I can't say his actions make me feel unhappy."

"So anything out of the ordinary that we find might me of use. But after what you said about true ones......I might want to consult you before actually touching anything correct?" said Rhen.
~Any documents pertaining to magic I might hold onto. I might be able to learn something from them. If there are any.~ thought Rhen.
