Chapter 20: The Sword of the Shining Rays (Short Chapter. I'm really not in the mood for typing at the moment.)

Cassius sat up. He looked at the Demonic god, Malvolio. His eyes were down like Angelo's. His eyes were different coloured, like they were always. His hair was no longer silver, it was as dark as the endless night.

He was still wearing Cassius' old clothes. "So. Did you get rid of the old Cassius?" the Demonic god asked. "He shall no longer be a problem." Cassius replied. Malvolio smiled, then laughed evilly. After a minute, Malvolio stops laughing and turns his back.

"Tomorrow. We search the Sword of the Shining Rays."

"Very well..father."

Meanwhile, back at Camelot. Roy knocks on the door to Deus' office. He opens the door and sees Deus writing a report. Deus looks at Roy and realizes that it must be something quite important. Deus puts his quill back into the bottle of ink. Roy stands before Deus' desk.

"What's the matter Roy? Is something bothering you?" Deus asked, worried about Roy.

"We've got a big problem." Roy replied.

"And what's that?"

"It seems that the Demonic god has his own army, known as the Demonic family." Roy crosses his arms. "And Cassius joined them."

"I had not expected that from him." Deus looks at Roy more seriously. "Did he give a reason?"

"Yeah. Supposedly the White Knights were the causers of his life 'going to hell'."

Deus thinks for a minute. "Malvolio must be playing with his head. I don't think the White Knights would do such a horrible thing."

"But they would." a voice said. Right after the voice was heard, Dante appears in the room. "Spero and I have dealt with your previous commanders, including Jacob Vortigern."

"How come? The White Knights have dedicated their lives in serving justice."

"No. You may firmly believe that the White Knights are 'good'. But the real fact is, they are as bad as any Black Knight."

Deus stood up from his chair and looked Dante in the eyes. "You have the nerve to say that we, the White Knights, are just as evil as the Black Knights."

"Yes. You may assume that you are good. But the truth is, you're not."

"What the hell do you mean!!?"

"Ever read through your commander's diary?" Dante opens his right hand up and Jacob's diary appears in his hand. Dante gives Deus the diary. "I'm sure this will prove some points."

Deus reads through the pages. His right eye widened. He flipped through the pages and with each page, his facial expression would get more shocked. Plans of one day finding the Sword of the Shining Rays were on the final page. Deus read through it. It reads:

"I wish to one day find the Sword of the Shining Rays. The ability to change the thinking, the morality of another seems to benefit my plan. But the Sword of the Shining Rays disappeared during the Third Age if I remember correctly. Perhaps founding a spell to send me back in time would help.

The God of Unbalance, Alrous, has the ability to transport another into a different time if memory serves. If only I could find his kingdom, I would send my knights to collect the sword for me. Roy being the host of Guthix might prove rather handy. Hmmm..I fear that the Black Knights may interfere with my plans however.

I shouldn't doubt Roy's powers. They will activate during the Divine Dusk so I should wait until then before I start my plan. I've got to continue looking through old books to find any hint of location of Alrous' castle. I know it's located in the north, but where? I will continue to look through the God Wars history book to see if I have missed any detail. Maybe that will help."

Deus looks at Roy. "He knew you were the host of Guthix the whole time." Deus said, with disbelief in his voice.

Roy's eyes widened. "W-w-what!!?" he shuddered.

Dante looks at the two. "See what I mean? He's not the good person you took him for."

Roy looks at the diary. "So, what was he after?"

Deus shrugged his shoulders. "I have no clue. Something called 'The Sword of the Shining Rays'. First time I've ever heard of it."

Dante crossed his arms. "The Sword of the Shining Rays. The sword legend said to be the 'Sword of changing ones opinions and morality'."

"Wow, really?! There is actually a sword that can do that!?"

"Yes. However, the sword no longer exists. Legends say that the sword disappeared with the island it was on during the God Wars."

"Whoa. How did that happen?!"

"Zamorakians ambushed the island and the sworn Saradominist protectors of the sword. The two fought until one of the commanders of the Saradominists took the sword and used it's power. But, legends say that after that the island ceased to exist and disappeared off the face of the earth."

"That's strange." Roy looks over to his left and saw Guthix, he looked like he was consecrating on something. Roy looked at him. "What are you doing Guthix?"

"I feel something very bad coming from the Demonic god's tower." he replied.

"Something very bad?"

"Yes. I believe they are planning something."

"Do you know?"

"Indeed. They are going after the Sword of the Shining Rays."

Roy's eyes widened. This sign gives the other two a bad thought. "We need to hurry to Alrous then."

Guthix sighs. "Do we really need to go to him?"

"How do you expect to get to that time period then? A time-traveling spell doesn't exist!"

Guthix lets out another sigh. "Very well..do as you please." his voice had much disappointment felt in it.

Roy looks at the other two. "We need to go to Alrous' castle."

Dante nods his head in agreement. "Very good."

"Gather the others, we need reinforcements if my fear comes true."

Deus walks out of his office and goes to inform everyone. After an hour, everyone goes outside. Dante knells onto the gronud and plants his hand upon the grass. He closes his eyes as he began to consecrate. After a minute, everyone disappears to the frosty, blight north.

The End of Chapter 20 (20th Chapter! o.O)
