I wouldn't like to try. I'd LOVE to prove you wrong, but Eno has expressed some form of strange desire for you to live. I don't know why I'm listening to him, but I will for the moment.

This, however, doesn't stop me from beating the ninety-eight hells out of you if I want to (yes, there are 98, yes, they can be found in mortal bodies. And immortal bodies, but we hide it better. And for some of us (like me), they're able to be purged).

Chapter 18
Bondaria blinked her eyes slowly. Slowly she sat up, and realized that she was immensely sore. But she wasn’t that surprised, ever since the escape from the facility, her life had been a constant struggle. She sighed quietly to herself, she missed Jarrid. When the cat people attacked, they had all been caught except Jarrid, who had managed to flee into the trees in time to escape. After that Bondaria, Skeecher, and Boris were all tied to ropes and carried deeper and deeper into the mountains, by the cat people. Many days went by, and the cat people never seemed to tire, they just kept walking through the now snowy landscape, ignoring all of Bondaria’s attempts to stop them.

Then one night, pale demons leapt out of nowhere and slaughtered the cat people. Well, there was a brawl, but it did*’t last more than a few minutes. Then the demons drank the cat people blood, leaving only frail skeletal shells of what once had been such strong warriors. Bondaria was shocked by the spectacle, but was even more frightened when the demons took her and her friends with them. They took them into their camp and offered them rooms, let them bathe, and gave them new clothes. Then a young woman named Jeniva came to Bondaria and explained that the demons were called the Nephilum, and were a coven of vampyres that live in the mountains. She also explained that Bondaria and her friends were to trained in the Nephilum ways, so they may go into human cities without causing a ruckus and collect information.

Bondaria had never wanted to be a spy, but in a way she felt obligated to the vampyres, for saving her life. So, she decided to be trained. Each day was started off with a breakfast of a clumsily prepared cooked rabbit or deer –the vampyres did*’t eat, so food was relatively scarce and lacked quality- and a glass of cold water. This time of the day was precious to Bondaria, as it was the only time she could see Skeecher, and Boris. They both had taken the same choice as she had, but for different reasons. Skeecher was terrified of the vampyres, and was too scared to not oblige to their every whim. Boris on the other hand, had decided that he needed time to escape, and pretending to go along with the training, he might get the chance he needed. After breakfast, Bondaria was taken out into the woods with one of the Nephilum, who would spar with her. Bondaria was a magician, so she used her staff. The vampyres were incredibly fast and strong, but they went easy so they could teach the kids how to fight better. Bondaria had thought her training at the facility had been challenging, but this was totally different. The vampyres taught her incredible moves that incorporated every part of her body. Then came magic, the Nephilum despised it, but they did have an ancient scroll that the vampyres of old used, before the shade came and banned magic. It involved an entirely different form of magic which based off of the Nephilum’s tattoos. Bondaria couldn’t use it as she wasn’t a vampire, but the fact that they were teaching her it told her that they must be planning to make her at least part vampire.
A knock at the door dislodged Bondaria from her thoughts, and she quickly opened the door. Jeniva stood outside,

“Good Morning, Bondahvia. I just came to get you up for your breakfast. I’ll let you get yourself dressed.* she said, looking Bondaria up and down.
Bondaria suddenly felt embarrassed and quickly nodded and closed the door. She went to her mirror. God, she looked awful. Her red hair was a tangled mess, and her green eyes had bags under them. A meandering thought fluttered through her head; thank goodness Jarrid wasn’t here to see her now. She quickly shook her head, banishing the thought from her head.
Once she had gotten herself cleaned up, Bondaria went to the breakfast table and endured a nearly raw slab of venison. Someone really should teach these vampyres how to cook. A few minutes later, Boris and Skeecher also appeared, and sighed when they caught sight of the lame excuse of a breakfast. Bondaria was surprised they hadn’t gotten used to it by now. Poor Skeecher looked worse today than Bondaria had ever seen him. His hands were clamped together with an iron grip which Bondaria could tell was working his arm muscles, because the boy’s arms rattled back in forth like a hummingbird’s wings. His eyes were wide and fearful, and his feet shuffled along, never leaving the floor. Bondaria did*’t know what one of the vampyres had told Skeecher, but whatever it was, it had him scared for his life. Then Bondaria noticed that Boris looked on edge too. Normally the two brothers were polar opposites, Skeecher always nervous, and Boris always confident and headstrong, but this time both of them looked frightened. Something was wrong.
