As Nate explained further, Tirent began to understand just what he meant. a permanent enchantment takes five separate spells, each absorbing a massive amount of one's energy. Doing one spell is enough for a normal magician to pass out from exhaustion. Dragonkin last a bit longer, they lose about 3/4s of their energy. Each enchantment is dependent to how you wish to make the object magical.
Nate and Spindle had been working on a pair of gloves , they want them to reject any thing hits them, so if an arrow was touched by the gloves in would shatter. Also elements like fire and plasma would dissipate or be shot back to its provider. They had finished all of the enchantments, and all that was left was to test the gloves out.
"Ready Nate?" asked Spindle.
"Yep, I think so" Nate responded, and he stepped into a room with glass walls.
"Zephy, would you mind? and you too Tirent." Spindle asked them.
They both nodded and stepped into the glass room as well.
Nate first turned to Zephy, "Shoot me." he commanded
"Alright, but if this doesn't work don't blame me," he said.
Zephy pulled his bow out and drew an arrow from his quiver. Then he shot it, with perfect aim at Nate who brought his gloves up with incredible speed. The arrow shot forward, and collided with the gloves. The arrow shattered sending pieces of metal and wood everywhere. Nate smiled and turned to Tirent, "Your turn he said."
Tirent nodded and prepared a ball of fire in his hand, then flung it at Nate, who brought his hands together and slammed the ball of fire into the ground. Tirent sighed in relief and started to laugh. Zephy jumped about cheering and Nate smiled triumphantly. Outside the glass Spindle was quickly jotting down notes, but his posture was no longer one of nervousness.

While Tirent, Nate, Zephy and Spindle all reveled in their success, Gorgo and Sorak were interrupted by a messenger.
"Hello sirs, the Draken would like to see Nate, Spindle, and you, Gorgo as soon as possible." he said.
"Understood thank you" Gorgo responded.

Chapter 4: The Next Step

In the Draken's chamber Nate, Gorgo and Spindle all were sitting down across from the Draken.
Nate spoke first, "Hello sir, what do you need?"
The Draken nodded, acknowledging Nate and spoke to all of them saying, " We are doing well in our fight against the Empire, but only because they haven't yet launched another assault on the dragon isle. We can only last so long." The Draken continued, "We need allies. You three are to travel into the northern mountains. The Empire almost never go up there, but when they do, their forces are crushed by the inhabitants."
Nate leaned forward, "And just who does inhabit that place?"
"The nomadic tribes of the Roomadon, a slightly more primitive people who can turn into big cats, much like our ability to turn into dragons."
Spindle was intrigued, Nate could see it in his eyes. "Yep, you picked the right people for this one sir." Nate said.
"Good, but just one thing, do not turn into dragons to get there. The nomads should have the upper hand as we are asking for an alliance and dragons might put them on guard."
Gorgo, and Spindle nodded and Nate rolled his eyes.
The Draken noticed Nate's look, "Oh yes, and Nate you shouldn't transform for other obvious reasons."
As they walked back outside, Nate saw Tirent, Sorak and Zephy walking toward them. He explained the mission to them, and they all seemed pretty interested, maybe even disappointed that they couldn't come. After some talking, they all decided to go to the mess hall and get something to eat.
After a few days, Spindle, Gorgo, and Nate were ready to go. They said their good byes and began their long journey

Tirent didn't mind that he couldn't go on the mission with Nate. He was a higher rank and had been here longer, so he deserved it more than Tirent.
Both Zephy and Sorak were sitting across from each other outside on a picnic table, playing chess. Tirent would have joined them, but he wanted to train instead. Since his staff had broken, he had kept his two swords that he made from the pieces. He had already been trained in multiple types of combat, but he could still improve his abilities with two sworded combat.
About a week later, Tirent was called into the Draken's quarters and was given a mission.
" I want you to do a stealth mission. You are to find a over cast day and fly unseen into a forest or the mountains, somewhere safe, but inside the Empire. From there you and your battalion will send out smaller sqauds to observe the surrounding cities. Gather as much Intel as you can, then send a messenger back. We will send the messenger back to you with new orders to tell you what to do, whether it be, head straight home, or attack a city."
Tirent nodded, and left to prepare his battalion for departure. He had a feeling that this mission would be a strange one.
"Prepare your things everyone, we leave in two days!" Tirent announced, as his squad gathered up supplies.
"Since our hideout will become our temporary base, we need to be well stocked."

That night Tirent had a strange dream. He was walking through a forest, it was the forest from the facility, where he first learned of his dragon abilities. As he walked he saw that it was darker than it had been on that night. The trees whispered in the wind. Then Tirent saw a shape dart away from him. What was that? he wondered, he crouched down and snuck forward trying to get a better view of the thing. As he was about to look for it again it shot away out of the forest and into the meadow outside of the facility.

Tirent quickly followed the creature as it sprinted through the grass. It looked human, possibly a young child. The thing continued to run until suddenly, it dissipated. Tirent stopped short, what happened? Then He heard voices, and he realized he was standing right next to a building in the facility. Tirent quickly ducked around a corner just as two figures walked by talking to each other. Tirent poked his head around the corner, trying to get a view of the two people.
One of them was tall and wore large armor, that made his shoulders seem like massive shields. He had a cape on and his hair was short. Tirent couldn't quite make out his face because of the lack of light. The other figure was smaller. He had a long beard and was furiously arguing with the larger one.
"I'm telling you what you are doing is wrong!" he argued.
The other didn't care what the smaller man said, and simply stated, " I am doing what is best for me!"
Then Tirent recognized that voice, and a chill ran down his spine.
"You can't continue what you are doing!" continued the smaller man.
"And you will not tell me what to do!!!" growled the other as he drew his sword.
Tirent stepped out from behind the building and yelled "NO STOP!!" but it was too late.
The smaller man turned to look at Tirent, and Tirent staggered backward. The old man in front of him was Master Irkwood. The other man was also recognizable, now that Tirent had a better view he could see the man's steel armor and golden cape and most importantly his red eyes. It was Morgan. Morgan lifted his sword and stabbed Irkwood in the stomach, laughing as he did so. Once again Tirent was forced to watch his own master die right before his eyes. He tried to move but was rooted to the spot. Morgan stepped forward, his eyes gleaming maliciously. His swept forward toward Tirent. Tirent couldn't bear it, was this how he would die? Then Tirent shot up in bed , he was drenched in a cold sweat, his eyes looked about. He was still in his bed.
